Time of Haunted Mansion Halloween Party Changeover

We are attending our first MNSSHP on Sept 1st!!

We have a regular ticket and will spend the day at MK and will stay the night with our party ticket.

I wanted to make a fast pass for Haunted Mansion and was wondering what time the Mansion has the Halloweem decorations set up. I'm hoping to be abke to use the fast pass to see the Halloween Haunted Mansion if possible

The Haunted Mansion at WDW does not get a Halloween overlay.

No ride overlays at WDW.

I think there's an actor out in front of HM during the party (Maybe Madame Leota?) and she should be ready by the first party. They also will do some magic photopass shots out front, but I think that's about it.

They do add fog on the outside, a funny lady dressed up as a ghost, the CM's dress up. That all won't start until 7:00 I assume, when the party starts. It is awesome even without the overlay.

Disneyland does do an overlay for their Haunted Mansion it's a halloween/christmas one but it's up from September to January and Disneyland also has a party event from September-October called Mickey's Halloween Party...maybe that's what you were thinking??

WDW doesn't do seasonal overlays.

No overlay, but some cool lighting and Madame Renata is out front (I believe there is a second character as well). They're always a highlight of the party for us. Last year, DH and I were celebrating our 11th anniversary. She kept announcing to the crowd that we were newlyweds on our honeymoon - and that we were happily taking cash gifts. lol She also told us the story of her death.
I believe one of them is out from the beginning of the party at 7.

Thankfully Disney doesn't do an overlay. Haunted Mansion is perfect as it is and doesn't need some silly characters added to it for Halloween.

I agree that it's quite awesome without the overlay. I expected to really dislike the overlay at DLR, especially since I'm not a NBC fan. But seriously....... that overlay is spectacular!

I love your comparison photos too! I made my kids do it for just one so far, they of course think I'm crazy. I can see I need to do more now I think I'll make them redo the hitch hiking ghost one at the party this year.

The Disneyland overlay *turned me into* a fan of NBC. That's how good it is.

I just hate how LONG they have it up, and they do it wrong. The movie starts *after* Halloween, and that's when the overlay should go up. After Halloween.

I sort of feel the same way. The ride made me love the music, which has made me like the movie. A little.

And I could get into a shorter timeframe for the overlay. I haven't seen the regular HM at DL since 2010 because we keep hitting the overlay. But it really is stunning. The addition of Hatbox Ghost last year was great too.

Even without the overlay, the Haunted Mansion is extra special during the parties. There is all of this fog that covers the ground outside. The woman who sits outside and interacts with guests is a hoot. And the CMs seem even more dedicated to being creepy. Love Haunted Mansion during the Halloween parties!
