We will be staying at the Boardwalk Villas in a little over a week. How long are the walks to Epcot and MGM? Thanks!

It's about 5-10 minutes to Epcot and 12-18 to MGM. It really depends on what kind of pace you're willing to walk.

As was already posted, it takes about 10 mins to get from BW to Epcot's Intnl Gateway...less if you walk quickly.
Getting to MGM is routinely about 15 mins. I have made it from the Intnl Gateway to MGM in about 18 mins, but I was really moving...wanted to get to the Osborne lights and it was almost park closing. I was practically jogging.

I also will be staying at BWV, is it a shaded walk to the parks? IN this heat is the walk ok to do?

I would not do it - at the hotest time. I would take the boat then.

but in the early morning and evening - it is definitely the way to go.

some of it is shaded other is direct sun. It is much faster than the boat.

but doing times when the sun is really hot - take the boat. You have enough walking at the parks.

We walked to BWV from EPCOT after the park closed because the boat que was full and the line was all the way outside of it. They were saying that the wait for the boat would be 1-1 1/2 hours. It took less than 10 minutes to walk back. It is a beautiful walk with all the lights of the Boardwalk and all the activity. We will definitely walk it again instead of the boat. We didn't walk to MGM but I think that we will next time since the boat back to BWV after the park closed took forever! We ended up geting off the boat at the Swan/Dolphin and walking back from there.

Have a great time! We had a short stay at BWV because my DS and his marching band were there performing and we were only there for 5 days. We are looking forward to staying there again on our next trip for 8-9 nights.

In the heat with kids, it is a long walk. Very little is shady and even if it is the humidity will wilt you in minutes. Unless you are used to walking daily in very hot, humid weather I would take the boat.
