Time for hopping

I was wondering how long it takes to leave one park and get to another. Lets say we are at Magic Kingdom in the morning and want to hop over to MGM.

Is there a bus that takes you from park to park?

How long do you think it actually takes once you exit one park before you are entering another?

Are any of them closer to each other than others?

Is there a 'strategy' of which parks to do together in one day?

thanks.

I am not sure of the actual times, but we were on on first trip 7 months ago, and we didn't feel the need at all to hop. Honestly there is so much to see and do at each park we found a day at each was good.

We prefer not to hop. It's too time consuming and tiring. We enjoy staying in one park all day. Even going back to the resort for several hours seems like too much wasted time. We prefer to call it an early evening and relax back at the hotel after dinner.

Conversely we nearly ALWAYS "hop" every day.
(Below times do not count "waiting" for transportation to arrive and load.)

Epcot & MGM:
BOAT between Epcot International Gateway (WS) & MGM: 30 Min.
BUS between Epcot front gate & MGM: 20 Min.

MK & Epcot:
MONORAIL between TTC and Epcot front gate: 15 Min.
MONORAIL between TTC and MK front gate: 5 Min.

All other Park-to-Park trips are via Bus.
Avearage time en route: 15-20 min.
(MK Park Hopper buses route via TTC)

For SURE, since DAK closes early, we hop to see an evening show (Fireworks or Fantasmic!) at another park.

Restaurants at Epcot are good, we can hop for those.

We know our way around, and don't mind hopping between parks to do the things we like.

We have not hopped before either but are planning to on a couple of day. Does the monorail go directly from MK to Epcot?

To get to Epcot from MK, you would first get the monorail to the TTC, and then swap to the Epcot monorail, they are 2 seperate loops so you can't go directly. Its a nice ride though,
