no problem, glad I could help!! We've got to help Tim get to the tippity top!! He might even get so many votes that they double it to $1200 when he wins!! :cool1:

Thanks, y'all...I was on my phone, but went back in and it then let me like it. I was #30. From what I can tell, Tim has a good lead...let's hope it stays that way!:thumbsup2

Man I said it a hundred times on the trip but your new camera ROCKS! Those pics are beautiful especially the close up ones of Lauren!! I will never forget Kimodo!!! I think it is funny that we both posted a pic and said "year of the snake buddies"!! I remember Lauren dancing to the Moroccan music too right smack in the middle of World Showcase..you've gotta love her free spirit!!:goodvibes
Thanks, love that camera, wish it wasn't so tough to lug around!
I love your TRs. I have read quite a few of your reports and you never let me down. Thanks for all the pics and sights from the happiest place on earth. It's nice to be able to see Disney through the eyes of others, especially since it will be at least another year before I make it back-- this time with my little muchkin. Can't wait to experience Disney with my little guy. Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip!!
Thanks, welcome back! I am glad you are enjoying it
Great update as always!! Lauren is absolutely precious in her kimono!! I would have bought it too ;)

Did you do a trip report when you went with Lauren at 16 months? If so I would LOVE to read it...taking our 15 month old on her first trip in a few weeks!!
I just love her in that Kimono! Enjoy your Trip! Yes, I think it may be in my signature. I did write one then though.
Looks like Lauren is still waking up.

Totally agree!

Love Lauren's "kimodo"!!! :rotfl2:
Yes, I noticed she was yawning in that one too : )

I had read on Diane's latest update that Lauren got a kimono. I came here hoping you had posted the price and of course you had, yay!

(Of course, Lesley is VERY thorough....isn't she folks? )

She looked just beautiful, like a little lady. I would have loved to have seen her bowing around the world showcase. Too cute!!!

I love that Tim was playing trivia with the kids at AKL. Always keeping it fun!! So who won?
Glad you enjoyed the pics, yes, very thorough indeed : ) I think Tim had them all win : )
I was thinking that too!! But from the look of that picture, it was a VERY SOUND sleep and she needed that yawn! hehe
Yes, she definitely needed the yawns that night.

I am late to the party, but I just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying your TR. Your family is adorable and it's apparent how much fun you're having. It's great being along for the ride!
Welcome, better late than never! Thanks for your sweet comments.

Hi Lesley (and family!),

I am pretty sure I've posted once or twice on your previous reports, but I am a faithful reader of all of your trip reports and I am coming out of lurkdom to just say once again that I love your reports! And I blame you for my family and I booking a week in Disney next June as our "big" vacation. Being FL Res, we have not been for more than a long weekend in years so I am just a little more excited that I finally convinced my family that a week there could be fun! :goodvibes

Your kiddos are both so adorable and sound like such sweet kids. Lauren looked gorgeous in that kimono and I totally would have caved too and bought it for her. Although I have a feeling I would have caved and bought the hair piece and blue sash too!

Can't wait to hear more! :cutie:
Well, hello. Glad you are enjoying this. Wish I was a Florida resident, would be fun, I hope you enjoy your week!

Ah... BC and Boardwalk area pics, I sure love that area!

Lauren's kimono is just beautiful... it would be hard to pass up I am sure!

What a nice evening in EPCOT, sorry that the weather looked scary and caused you to miss Illuminations!
I love that area now too. Yes, glad we left but wish we could have seen Illuminations.

You are incredible.... A full NJ/NY mini report AND an update?!?! Not to mention yet ANOTHER appearance on the Podcast?! :worship:

Your kids certainly had a summer to remember. Times Square, Yankee Stadium, Cape May, crabbing, boardwalks, American Dolls... and didn't you take a trip to Michigan, too?! And Disney on top of it all?! So blessed!!

Loved the updates, loved the pictures, and love seeing all of the fun you guys are having together. (Don't love that you missed Illuminations :sad2:, but I'll forgive you since it was the weather and out of your hands!)

Also glad you experienced our FAVORITE Epcot resort area and the International Gateway entrance/exit. Next time you go and do that, if you are able to stay for Illuminations, you can experience our favorite time at Disney.... walking around WS AFTER Illuminations... while all of the crowds are flooding to the front, and you and your family are casually walking around the back to International Gateway... :cloud9: Perfection!

Good luck getting ready for school to start. Teacher day Monday and students Tuesday for me!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the updates. The International gateway indeed rocked. Good luck with the school year!

What great updates!!! Your trip to NY looked amazing. Did u drive up there? If so how bad was it? lol. I'm also in Ohio and what love to go up there for a few days. But would like ot get away without paying for flight if possible. Maybe after my first trip to Disney I will have to plan a first trip to NY :woohoo: Lauren looks adorable in her Kimono how awesome of you to buy it for her :)
Yes, we drove, it took us about 11 hours to get to where they live in New Jersey and then about 2 hours into the city the day we went.

What a wonderful time you had visiting Diane and family! Enjoyed seeing all the pictures! I have never been to Cape May, but after seeing all those gorgeous houses, I really want to go there now!

I totally would have caved on the kimono, too! Lauren looks precious in it!

I know what you mean about your little girl growing up. My baby starts her last year of middle school on Monday, and it does not seem like she should already be an 8th grader!
Cape May is beautiful! They grow up WAY too fast!
wow...sounds like you had a great time

Those house in Cape Cod are gorgeous.

Love pic of Lauren sitting in front of bench that says Atlantic City on it....too cute :cutie:

Off to read your Disney update now :surfweb:
We did have a great time, hope you enjoyed the dis update too.

You guys did a LOT on that NJ/NY vacation! Looks like you had a blast!! You were all over NYC that day. I'm glad you enjoyed our City!

Cape May is beautiful! We haven't gone there yet, or even Atlantic City - both are on "the list" for day trips. Thanks for the awesome pictures!

And what a fun evening in the WS! Lauren does look completely adorable in her "kimodo" :cutie:, I would have caved too. Teppan Edo always sounds soooooo delish, we have yet to try it!
Yes, we covered a TON in NYC/NJ. Cape May is gorgeous, hope you get to try it someday.

looks like you all had a great night. Bummer you missed illuminations, but still sounds like you all had fun

Lauren looks so pretty in her Kimono. Like the colors she picked out. Very pretty
I like her in the blue kimono too.

Hey there loving the update!!! Gosh i just love the shore!!! I used to spend my summers in Cape May growing up and I absolutely loved it!!! People can say what they want about the Jersey Shore, but I love it!!! Like you as soon as I hit the lottery the first thing I do is buy a house there!
Glad you enjoyed it, it is just beautiful there!

What a great time you had in New York/New Jersey Love that pic of Mary with Lauren...she's my fav sister on the show

Great update....can't wait to have a Grey Goose Slushie...too bad you missed Illuminations, but I would have dashed for the van too!!!
I love that pic too, it was great meeting her!

Love the updates! I haven't been to Cape May to see the town in so long! It is so pretty! We usually go to the zoo at least once a year, but I haven't seen the beaches or homes in a very long time! I'm glad you guys enjoyed your trip to NJ/NY!

And the Dis update was great as well. The Kimono is really beautiful!
It is so beautiful, the zoo was nice too!

Lauren is completely adorable in her "kimodo." Of course you had to get it! And the "year of" t-shirts are on my souvenir list for my next trip. Those are cute too.

I agree with you... nights walking around WS are just the best. And a grey goose slushie doesn't hurt.
The year of shirts are great, I think they are 19 dollars each.

i love those pictures with donald! they came out really good!

and your daughter is so cute! the kimono is adorable!
Those pics of Donald did turn out great!

Lauren is so cute in that kimono. On one of our past trips to Epcot I bought a kimono. This was back in the 80's & I still love my purchase.

We spend most of our evenings at the World Showcase. The place is so magical & feels like one is in the actual countries.

Your reports are so much fun, maybe I should read one of your old ones.
Just love her in the kimono. Glad you still have yours. Yes, read the old ones, you should like em' : )

I'm all caught up now. What a great week you guys had in NJ/NY. You definately got alot done. So many wonderful memories. We've never been to Cape May but will put on our to do list for next summer. Lauren looked so beautiful in her kimodo. Grey goose slushies are the best.

~Maritza~
Glad you are caught up, hope you enjoyed the updates.

Great updates! Love that you got to the bakery. We've never tried Teppan Edo, fussy husband. I know you say picky eaters can eat there so maybe we'll try it next time. Too bad about Illuminations but at least you got a Grey Goose slushie in before you had to dash You guys are certainly getting use out of having your cars there. Love the pictures of all the kids. Too bad you didn't get a picture with Lauren's hair up but the kimono was so cute, I would have caved too. I'm sure she batted those cute little eyes and smiled that cute little smile, how could you resist that?
Going to the bakery was fun. Diane has picky eaters too and they found something they liked.

Catching up...Sounds like your trip to New Jersey/New York was fantastic! You guys sure packed a lot of things in!

I love Lauren in her Kimono........just precious!

My DH and I LOVE the World Showcase at night too.......sorry that you weren't able to see IllumiNations! At least you know there will be a next time!
It was a fantastic trip!

Lesley, thank you for your wonderful trip reports!! I look forward to checking your updates and seeing what your family enjoyed next. I don't have any children and my hubby isn't that in to Disney any more, but he is more than supportive when I decide to take a trip on my own (after the initial shock LOL!).

Your children and husband are amazing, your blog about your marriage was spectacular, and I wish you all the best!
You are welcome, you are so sweet with your comments, makes this all worth it, glad you are enjoying it!

Love your updates!
Thanks!

Cute kimono!!!!!

Can't wait to hear your Jiko review.....it's our most favorite restaurant on property!!!!!
Jiko coming tonight, it is GREAT!
Lesley!! I can't believe I just found this thread a couple of days ago! I normally do pretty good with keeping up with your TR's, but not this time. Even still, I'm all caught up now and so glad that I finally found you here!

Anyway, I am love, love, loving the TR, as always. I'm really glad you included the Jersey/NYC report as I loved seeing all the sights. I have to agree, Cape May is a beautiful town, but everytime I hear the name, I think of the Cafe in Disney!

Keep up the great work...can't wait for more!
Glad you found us. More coming tonight!

Your NJ/NY vacation sounds SO amazing! I love the pics. It's awesome how you've made such incredible friends on the DIS, and how you've been able to share family vacations together. :goodvibes The guys look SOOO happy all ready for their baseball game! And Lauren is too cute with her new AG doll. I had Samantha and Molly when I was little, and I absolutely loved them. I'm glad you had such a great time! Thanks for sharing!

Your Epcot night looks like it was wonderful too! I've never entered through the International Gateway, but it's something I want to do next time. Lauren looks so beautiful in her Kimono! What a great evening. :thumbsup2

So when I last left you we had enjoyed lovely evening at the World Showcase with our friends. On the next morning no alarms were set, we enjoyed sleeping in. We didn’t really have plans for this morning so we discussed it as we woke up. Tim and Luke really wanted to go shopping at Downtown Disney. I am not a shopper, just not (Tim is the shopper in our family) so I wasn’t feelin’ Downtown Disney. I had a few things that I really wanted to do at Epcot and that I knew Lauren wanted to do and they were: Club Kool, Figment, and Spaceship Earth. So, we decided it would be a girls/boys morning. We got dressed and were ready for the day:
IMG_7686800x600.jpg

We messed around in the gift shop for a bit:
IMG_7687800x600.jpg

100_7269800x600.jpg

100_7266800x600.jpg

IMG_7688800x600.jpg

Then we walked to the bus stop. Tim and Luke decided to drive to Downtown Disney. Lauren and I waited for a bus to Epcot:
IMG_7689800x600.jpg

Lauren and I had to wait FOREVER for a bus on this day. I remember it being around 40 minutes, something ridiculous like that. I guess they had to load several ECV’s at Kidani and then when they got to us it was kind of full so we had to stand. Oh well!
We were happy to be at Epcot!!!
IMG_7691800x600.jpg

The line for Spaceship earth was super long, but it was on our list of things to do, so we waited. It went really fast actually:
IMG_7693800x600.jpg

IMG_7695800x600.jpg

Before we knew it we were almost there!
IMG_7697800x600.jpg

We had fun designing our future;
IMG_7702800x600.jpg

I let Lauren choose all of the answers, it was fun seeing what she came up with:
IMG_7703800x600.jpg

IMG_7704800x600.jpg

IMG_7706800x600.jpg

After the ride I had some Mezzo Mix calling my name, it was CLUB COOL TIME!!!
IMG_7708800x600.jpg

We just love it here:
IMG_7711800x600.jpg

I can’t even begin to tell you how many drinks Lauren had, but she was having a GREAT time!
IMG_7710800x600.jpg

IMG_7713800x600.jpg

I was in panic mode! I kept going from machine to machine to machine, at each station it kept saying they were all out of Mezzo Mix…….. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IMG_7712800x600.jpg

I was so bummed. So, we left with our bellies full of free soda and as I was having the shakes from Mezzo Mix withdrawl Lauren noticed Lilo walking by, we couldn’t believe she STOPPED right by us, that was an easy character interaction!
In the shade with NO line!

Alright, so we had marked 2 things off of the list for the day, now it was time for Journey Into Imagination with Figment : )
So we headed that way:
IMG_7717800x600.jpg

IMG_7718800x600.jpg

I couldn’t believe my EYES, What was that????????????????? A LINE for Figment!?!?! HUH?????
IMG_7719800x600.jpg

That line went quick, and we were singing along in no time
IMG_7721800x600.jpg

IMG_7723800x600.jpg

I spotted a hidden Mickey I had never seen before:
IMG_7724800x600.jpg

We enjoyed the play areas at the exit. I remember when Lauren could barely walk and she was toddling around jumping on these pads………… sniff…………………………
IMG_7725800x600.jpg

IMG_7726800x600.jpg

IMG_7727800x600.jpg

She had fun conducting music:
IMG_7728800x600.jpg

After we were done we weren’t quite ready to head back to the resort yet, we wanted to use a snack credit. We were excited to try Eddy’s ice cream for the first time with our credits:
IMG_7729800x600.jpg

Happy girl with her ice cream:
IMG_7730800x600.jpg

My girl likes to eat:
IMG_7731800x600.jpg

After our yummy ice cream we headed to the exit. It was another hot day, so it didn’t surprise me when Lauren started pouring her water on her head:
IMG_7733800x600.jpg

We had the bus stop to ourselves:
IMG_7734800x600.jpg

We went back to the room and met the boys there. They had a good morning of shopping and Luke picked up a new souvie:
IMG_7737800x600.jpg

We got our swimsuits on and headed down to the pool and we ate lunch at the Mara counterservice. They have very yummy flatbread pizzas there. It was so nice having a relaxing morning followed by a relaxing afternoon eating poolside.
After that it was time for DATE NIGHT!!!! We headed down to drop the kids off at Simba’s Clubhouse:
IMG_7738800x600.jpg

Here’s where we were headed:
IMG_7741800x600.jpg

This was our second time dining here and I can honestly say one of the BEST places to eat on property!
Me and my hot date:
IMG_7742800x600.jpg

We were seated right away and had a great table by the window. I just LOVE this restaurant, the theming, everything about it. Look at the pretty back wall of it:
IMG_7743800x600.jpg

The wall continually changes color throughout your meal like the African sunset, ahhhhhhhhhh, SO PRETTY!
The cooking station:

Diane and Bryan were celebrating an early anniversary at this meal so they ordered a bottle of wine, Bryan was being funny pouring it:
IMG_7749800x600.jpg

Here is Diane and I at dinner:
IMG_7745800x600.jpg

Bryan and Tim at dinner:
IMG_7746800x600.jpg

The service in Jiko is outstanding! We had Carlos as our waiter and from beginning to end he was outstanding! He was very professional and fun at the same time. He was great with his food offerings, extremely attentive and just made the dining experience incredible. Before he took our order he came over with these little white domes and he told us that as guests of the hotel (since we were staying there) and of Jiko the chef’s were giving us a complementary sample of the cream of cauliflower soup. It was AMAZING, so so yummy!
We ordered several different appetizers and they were all delicious. The hummus dips with breads that Tim ordered for the table were a little spicy for my taste but Tim and Bryan really enjoyed it!
IMG_7747800x600.jpg

My appetizer was delicious, we all had some:
IMG_7748800x600.jpg

I ordered the steak that comes with macaroni and cheese which to me just sounded odd. I remember last time we were there Tim and I substituted it for potatoes instead, but this time I left it and BOY was I GLAD I did, it was out of this world. This is the best meal I have had on property to date, SOOOOOO good!:
IMG_7750800x600.jpg

For desert, Tim and I split a sample platter, it was all delicious:
IMG_7751800x600.jpg

After dinner we headed up to the lobby to have our pictures taken by the Photopass photographer. Again, those will be on my LAST update of this TR so stay tuned. The photographer took some of all four of us together and there is one pic where Tim is doing something to Bryan and it’s hysterical! He also got my favorite picture of Tim and I together of the entire trip, just love it.
The clock was ticking in child care, so we headed down to pick up the kids. We went up to the room and let them get in their suits.
IMG_7753800x600.jpg

We enjoyed some adult beverages pool side:
IMG_7754800x600.jpg

The kids had a blast swimming:
IMG_7755800x600.jpg

IMG_7756800x600.jpg

Such a GREAT FUN AND RELAXING day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just back from two weeks in Hawaii and got caught up on your summer vacations. What a bunch of wonderful weeks! That's what summer is all about. I can't believe you got to go to Carlo's Bakery!!!! We were just watching that show tonight. :) So far it seems that you were having a very nice trip at Disney, with little to no complaints. (except for the poopoo smell) :rotfl:

Oh you sound like you had such a great day! Great that you guys could split up and do what you felt like that day. You and Lauren look like you had lots of fun. Too bad you didn't get your Mezzo MIx. The ice cream looks yummy. You guys look soo great for your date night, so pretty and handsome! Hmm, I wouldn't have thought mac and cheese would go with steak. Glad it was yummy!

:scared1:No Mezzo Mix... ANYWHERE?!?! How terrible. I hope you were able to find some later...:confused3

Glad you enjoyed a boy/girl day.... I think it's funny that the BOYS were shopping!

You and Tim looked fabulous for your date night... dinner looked fabulous too!

Thanks for your great (and consistent) updates. When does school start for you?

LOoks like another great day! I too have never seen those lines in Epcot...yikes! Glad to know they go by fast....and your date night looks dreamy :)...I'm so dreaming of that one day!!

I had to be a pest...but only if you have time and if you do have one...I'd love to read your TR when Lauren was a baby. I looked in your siggy and it wasn't there.:flower3:

Great update!!!

Lesley...best meal??? OMG so that steak is BETTER than Le Cellier??? Is it made of GOLD?

Sounds like you and Lauren had such a fun day! Will Tim come and give his little report on Luke and Tim's day? Love Luke's hat!!
