Timandlesley's The Sum of Our Thrills TR w/ tons of pics&video 9/27 PTR link pg.58

I tried to keep up with his directions and we did unlock a few boards but I found that whole concept confusing and frustrating because I like to just shoot and have fun randomly to pump up my score.

this sounds JUST like ray and i. he'd be trying to tell me what to do and i'd get frustrated because i'd want to just shoot and have fun!

It was a HOT walk back to the bus:

100_6834640x480.jpg

is that tim in the background? is he praying to the weather gods for cooler weather? :rotfl:

We had read in the hotel activities for the day that you could trade with “King Pin” in the lobby so the kids were thrilled about that.

such a cool little treat! this is why i love disney so.

After that fun experience we headed back up to the room, got a quick nap in (well I napped, the kids watched t.v.) and then showered and got ready for our dinner at Kona.

LOVE kona. it's one of our favs. your food looked so yummy!

The parade was FABULOUS. Here is a video I took of it (I haven't listened to this yet so I'm hoping I don't say anything embarassing on it) , I LOVE this video because of Lauren’s facial expressions throughout it, I hope you enjoy it too (click on it to get it to play):

What was so cute was Lauren said to me "that was Alice's first parade, she did a WONDERFUL job, I sure hope she wasn't nervous!!!"

THANK YOU for posting this! alice is my favorite disney movie ever (well, tied with peter pan) and i just love what she said as she went by on her big mushroom. honestly it makes me a little bit sad that i won't see this myself as there's no way for a disney trip this year with me being pregnant, but it's still really cool to see it even if it's not live and in front of me! love what lauren said...so cute!

love the bologna idea! i will have to remember that one in case i have a little one down the road who is scared to ride certain things.

(love Lauren’s side ponytail she’s rockin’ on this day, TOTALLY her request, so Deb from Napoleon Dynamite

:rotfl: my best friend, melanie, has a little girl named megan who was about lauren's age when that movie came out and she INSISTED on wearing her hair like that all the time after she saw it!

As we were walking away Luke was yelling “MOM, come look at this!!!”

103_6919640x480.jpg

only a boy would have noticed that!

i love doing fantasyland first thing in the morning! it's so awesome.

While we were about to go in Eric and Diane headed to the restroom and I spotted Mary Poppins AND Bert!!!! So we stopped into that SHORT line, Lauren was thrilled!

i love that they're near the carousel at the MK now. seems like an appropriate location for them (even though it is cindy's carousel...or is it prince charming's now???)

SERIOUSLY, doesn’t that guy have the BEST job!!!! I want to get paid to stroll around Main Street as a celebrity, HEAVEN!!!

for realz!!!!

loved the barbershop pics and the pixiedust. we are going back in october 2011 and seth will be just over a year old (i'm guessing....depending on if he's early, late or just on time). i'm hoping he will have enough hair to have his first haircut there.

As always, I love reading your trip report, Leslie.

Can you tell me how much Tim's haircut was at the MK barbershop?

Thanks

Wow you guys really get alot done in one day and Peter Pan without a line is my dream come true. What a great treat to see Bert with Mary. Great update as always:thumbsup2.

Due to budget issues that I discussed before we had to cut this breakfast since we were paying out of pocket. Well, I DID cancel the reservation but we used it to get into the park (slap my hand, I KNOW).
No hand-slapping from me. I think it's a brilliant use of the system :thumbsup2

Lauren and I headed to Fantasyland to do those rides. She had great fun playing in the bubbles as we waited for the rope to drop:
103_6935640x480.jpg

She was given a “princess of the day” sticker that they were passing out which made her day.
I know you know this already, but what TREASURED moments that won't last much longer... when your little one begs to ride Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan. Glad you got to spend that precious time together!

 I don't think I've EVER seen that! How awesome!

After that we headed over to the Pooh ride, and Lauren saw the Cinderella step sisters and she ran up to give them hugs:
103_6943640x480.jpg
After our last trip, these are my new favorite characters. Such fun interaction!

This one cracked me up, Lauren and Eric rode together and you couldn’t see their heads:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I did just o.k. this time:
103_6972640x480.jpg
That's JUST OK!?! I think that's a pretty darn good score!

The Princess line was only 15 minutes:
Wow! That is a GREAT wait time for them. We have never waited LESS than 45 in either of these lines! Good for you!

I wasn’t blown away with any of them, they were just your “average” princess
What is it about that? Again, I think this is a result of going SO many times. When you've been blown away by GORGEOUS princesses, it's just hard to live up to that every single time, no?
but Lauren was in heaven!
Of course she was! The kids are so much better than we are about that stuff.
I asked the CM how long the wait was and she said “well, it’s supposed to be 15 minutes, but it just isn’t moving is it!?!”
:confused3 Weird...
Well, that was a mistake, I forgot it stops at Main Street first, THEN Frontierland, and the train was running SO SLOWLY.
:headache: Those are the times you just have to sit back, relax, and try to enjoy your mistake!

After the ride we caught up with Diane who had run into Laura (Iluvxu on the boards) and they were talking, I have met her several times since we live so close to one another but was glad Diane was able to meet her
You and Diane are such great DISers! Glad you got to meet Laura.

:woohoo: He is the fast pass MAN!!

I spotted Mary Poppins AND Bert!!!! So we stopped into that SHORT line, Lauren was thrilled!
103_7004640x480.jpg
:goodvibes :goodvibes BERT?!?!?! Oh my goodness... what a great find... and with a short line? Awesome!!!
We saw the Mayor on our way
103_7017640x480.jpg

You know your children are gorgeous, but Luke just struck me as extra grown up and handsome in this picture...
I think that's the same mayor WE saw! He's SO perfect for that job.
P1040471.jpg

SERIOUSLY, doesn’t that guy have the BEST job!!!! I want to get paid to stroll around Main Street as a celebrity, HEAVEN!!!
Yes yes YES!! Awesome job!!

Tim and Bryan hit the gym together so Diane and I swam with the kids. At one point she headed to the bar and treated us to some Pina Collada’s (what a GREAT friend), it tasted SO good!!!!
It looked like perfect pool weather. SO happy for you all that you got to spend a perfect morning AND afternoon together. :cool1:

I never got my hair cut from the barbor shop but I have heard nothing but good reports about it. I think I may have to give it a try next time. It looks like a lot of fun!

Splash mountain is one of my favorites too. I love the fact that is actually tells a decent story and is roughly 10 minutes of cool down. It is great.

Awesome planning on Tim's part of have fast passes for all three mountains at once! Wow!
Tim and the boys certainly enjoyed it, I was amazed by how SMALL it is in there. Just love splash! Yes, he did awesome with the FP that day!
Wooohooo! Lots of great updates! You made me so excited for our early MK day. We are more 'get there late, stay really late' people, but this time we have an 8:05 ressie for CP, so we should be done and in the park right at or soon after opening. Seeing all that you got to ride that early made me SUPER excited!!! Oh, and I love the Buzz picture with the headless kids
You are gonna love MK early! Just ask for your check at about 8:40 and you'll be good! I know, isn't that picture funny!
LOVE the update! sounds like a fab morning!!! Glad to know that we aren't the only ones that ever went in early sshhh :rolleyes1 sometimes it is hard to resist... Awesome about running into Laura too...

Looks like the same belle we had 2 years ago funny..

can't wait to hear about dinner!
It was a great morning. Glad you enjoyed the update.

I just love your trip report! You definitely sound like such a positive person and that is awesome! How much is it to get your haircut at the barber shop? I think DH may like that!
Thanks,so glad you enjoyed it. The adult haircut was 19.
Another awesome update!

I love reading you and Diane's simultaneous reporting. Great to get both people's perspectives.

Can't wait to hear about your evening at O'Hanas. I am sure it was fantastic!:goodvibes
Happy you are enjoying both of our reports. O'Hanas was good, but I have a lot to say about it, so stay tuned.
Me too! Great day at Magic Kingdom. So nice to see Lauren get to visit Minnie Mouses's house before the new construction starts. Was there any construction of the new fantasyland? Looking forward to reading more ......:happytv:
I know, I am glad we got to see it before construction too. Yes, TONS of construction walls up, they make an appearance later.

What a great looking day at MK!!! Hardly any waits...what better way to do MK. I guess it really pays off getting there for rope drop. It looks like you and Laurent had a good morning meeting characters. I laughed so hard when I saw the picture of Lauren and Eric...you totally couldn't see their heads. LOL.

The hair cuts came out good and I especially like that Tim got the Pixie Dust and it was really nice of the Barber Shop guy to give Lauren some Pixie Dust also.

Nothing like some swimming and Pina Collada's! Looking forward to reading about dinner at O'Hana's.
It was an awesome morning! Yes, the barber was wonderful!

Great Update! Your trip reports are always so fun to read! When were we at Disney last month we got my sons first haircut at the Main Street Barber Shop...they gave him mickey ears with my first haicut on them, a certificate for his first haricut, tons on Mickey stickers! They were great!!
Thanks, so glad you enjoy them. The first haircuts look great!

I was wondering how you got into park early

Looks like you and Laurent had some great girl time in Fantasyland. :cutie:

That was nice the barber let Laurent have some pixie dust too

Those drinks look great the pool

Can't wait for more
We had a great time that morning just me and my girl

Great update as usual, had to catch up on the last two! Cannot believe how much you guys got done and how dead the park was. I absolutely love Peter Pan's Flight and it's always sooo busy! Not that day though! Love the mountain of mountain FP's. Nothing sweeter! I was looking at the picture of the kids with the Mayor and saw the word "Seriously" and I thought you were going to say "Seriously does a kid have to be picking his nose in such a beautiful picture of my children?!" But no it said "Seriously what a cool job" or something similar Made me laugh. Those Pina Colavas were sooo yummy, kinda like Kool Aid, yum yum:woohoo:
Happy you enjoyed it, glad youare caught up. I died when I saw your comment, I didn't even notice the kids, he MUST be cropped!

What a great update seems like you and Lauren had MK to yourselves that morning!! how cool is that?? :cool1:
It was VERY cool!
Soooo much fun! the pics as always are great!!
Loved the haircut/pixie dust adventure, so many
magical moments with your family as well as friends.
Keep it rolling!!!
Happy you enjoyed the pics, it was a great morning!
What a lovely morning in the Magic Kingdom!!! Seems like you were able to hit a lot of rides with almost no wait!!! Tim's pixie dust is hilarious!!!
Thanks, it was such fun. Yeah, they got him GOOD!

Did you complete the Triple Mountain Whammy?

Isn't the barbershop fun? How sweet that they gave Lauren some pixie dust as well! I think they do the colored hair gel, with pixie dust, for very, very cheap...maybe $5 or so?

What a great morning at MK! You guys got a TON done!
We did but WITHOUT fast passes, we'll use them on upcoming days (another Disney no no but we did it with success : ) Yeah, maybe I can convince Lauren to do the cheaper barber shop instead of Bippety Boppety Botique )

103_7004640x480.jpg

:banana:That is so cool! In all my years going to MK (all the way back to '73!) I have never seen BERT! I hope this is a new trend!
Super cool!
I know, I was soooooo excited too!!!

Whew! All caught up!

First of all, that Dole Whip way back at the beginning made me want to lick the computer screen and I just had one Friday night....
How fun that you got to spend time with friends from home at AK, (Lauren and Tyler were so brave to ride EE in their own car), then meet up with Diane and Bryan that evening!
So many fun memories being made with your families!
I can't wait for the Ohana meatfest! Get your cave man on!
Glad you got caught up, yeah your Dole Whip pic had me drooling the other day on FB.

Yaaaa! Love the day and all the rides and fun and friends. Isn't Disney with friends and family the best. I get warm fuzzies just thinking of it!
I love Ohana and I just predict you are going to stuff yourselves and ride the three mountians and watch fireworks!!! Am I right? :confused3
It definitely is the best!!! Well, unfortunately you are NOT correct, stay tuned!

Looks like you had a great morning in the Magic Kingdom. And it looks so empty! Were crowds low the week you were there?
The crowds that DAY was good, we lucked out some days and others NOT so much!
Great MK morning ! It is great to hit so many rides in such a short period of time. It was nice for you and Lauren to have some girl time together. The pic of Tim with pixie dust in his hair is hysterical !
It was such a great morning, loved every minute of mygirl time with Lauren.
Goodness you guys had some serious fun this day! What an action packed morning! Love all the FUN! Can't wait to see your use of those FPs,but judging from you report and Diane's I am guessing rain showed up!? Hope it all works out! Love the barbershop fun. And excellent call on fantasyland!
Yes, it was action packed and fun. Yup, rain sure did, stay tuned.

What a great morning at MK!! Love Lauren's smiles in all the pictures....they both look so happy :) Fantasy land with no waits...heaven!

Can't wait for Ohana...one of our favorites!!
Lauren is definitely one happy child, but why shouldn't she be, right : )

Great updates Lesley!!

I cracked up when I read about the wine in the mug. I did the SAME thing in May at BC. Hey I had to get the wine in somehow.

Looks like a great AK day with the low crowds

What a great MK day & I love the group pic after the haircuts.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Oh yeah, wine in the mug is the way to go!

What a great day......so far!!! I am so glad you and Lauren had a great Mommy and daughter morning! I bet that was one of her favorite memories of all!!! So glad you got to enjoy Splash Mtn when you finally got over there!!! THAT IS MY FAVORITE ride, and will NEVER get tired of it!!! SO MUCH FUN! I loved the picture of Tim's FP. Tom collected so many on our September trip that we actually came home with a STACK of FPs...we simply could not use them all! Can't wait to hear about the rest of your fun day!!!
It was a wonderful mommy daughter morning. I love Splash!!!

I'm soooooo ashamed I've missed this until now!

The good news is that I have plenty to catch up on!

Off to read...sorry for joining the party late!
don't be ashamed, welcome!!! Better late than never right!

I love the Pixie dust on Tim & Lauren, so cute & sweet at the same time!

I missed the MK on our last visit, I didn't get to have my first Dole Whip, that will have to wait until 2011!

I will be returning to Florida in the morning. Not to bring anyone down, but my mother was ill & as of yesterday is no longer ill.:littleangel:
I am soooooooo sorry for your loss, your family is in my prayers.

What a great update!! Love that you and Lauren got SO much done!

The pic of "Lauren and Eric" on Buzz is hilarious!

and I agree about the princesses

but in this pic, Belle looks a lot like Sandra Bullock! Could just be the face she's making though...

103_6987640x480.jpg
too funny! You are right!

As much as I love spending time at WDW with the whole family it is really so nice when you get to spend some one on one time with one of your children.
It was wonderful!
Wow...........no waits in Fantasyland!!! Sounds like it was a perfect morning!

The barbershop experience sounded very cool........love Tim's "pixie dust!" That's cool that they were so nice to give Lauren some too!!!
Yup, was pretty close to perfect! Pixie dust made for a great topper to a great day.

Great update as usual. Lauren is just beautiful. Luke is very handsome as well. I am glad they finally made it to the swimming pool. It looks like you all had a great meal with your friends. Do you see each other outside of Disney?
Glad you are enjoying the updates, thanks for the kid compliments, VERY sweet of you. Yes, they came here over New Years, we are leaving to go see them in Jersey in a few weeks : )
You little rebel, getting into the Magic Kingdom early! :sad2: Such fun for you and Lauren to do all that you did in Fantasyland and ToonTown and with no waits!

Awesome haircuts and pixie dust! Love what Mousekeeping did with the kids' animals! Mmmmm, pina coladas... :woohoo:

Can't wait to hear about Ohana and the rest of your evening!

I'm so sorry about your mom; saying a prayer for you.
Yup, we are rebels : ) It was a great morning.

I love that Tim went to the barber shop on Main St! I really want my son to go there and get sprinkled. I'm sure that he would. I hope to someday get to spend leisurely time at Disney. Enough time that you can go to the parks in the morning and enjoy the afternoon at the resort.
Keep it up Leslie, you're doing great!
Yes, barbershop sure is fun. I hope you do as well! Thanks!!!

Gone for a week and then back home with a busy family reunion weekend - and I got really, really, really far behind.
I know there were lots of things I wanted to comment on, but can't remember everything now.
We loved the night vision goggles at AKL too. Very cool! Glad you finally got some swimming time in without being rained out.
DHS was our most crowded park on this trip. And we didn't even go on a Fantasmic night. The problem was though that it closed at 7:00. We got FPs for RnRC first, which was a mistake. By the time we got over to TSM they were going to run out before our time came up to get another one. A really nice CM ended up putting one of our cards in and printed four for us. So awesome!
Your time with Diane and family sounds like so much fun. We had some friends from St. Louis down there while we were there and we did part of an Epcot day with them. They had never been to Epcot before so I felt like the tour guide.

Can't wait to read more.

Alice

P.S. Sophie's disappointed we won't be in Grand Haven at the same time as your family this year. She wanted to meet for ice cream and have Lauren and her wear their matching Miss Chatterbox shirts. And yes, we will be there during Coast Guard Week this year. It was a crazy very last-minute planned trip.
Hi Alice, glad you are enjoying the updates.aren't those night vision goggles such fun. That does stink about Grand Haven (HI SOPHIE:flower3:). Hope you guys enjoy Coast Guard, should be crowded but loads of fun!

hey, there! just playing catch-up while i have a few spare minutes.

loved the nick hotel updates and the universal/blue man group stuff. it's neat to see things non-disney that i haven't experienced. i've been to universal but that was like 1992 so i'm sure it's changed. we are definitely going there for a day next trip to see the harry potter stuff!
Hi Dawn, so excited for you and Ray, Seth will be here before you know it. Can't wait to experience Universal next year, Blue man was awesome!
i've heard this from a lot of people and can't wait to meet her! and you're right - she's gorgeous!

oh, i could SO use one of those right now!!!

SO cute!!!
Yeah, Tianna is GREAT!

that's SO sweet! what a great big brother. :goodvibes

this sounds JUST like ray and i. he'd be trying to tell me what to do and i'd get frustrated because i'd want to just shoot and have fun!

is that tim in the background? is he praying to the weather gods for cooler weather?

Too funny, Tim heard me say to the kids "look at the camera so they understand how hot it is" and Tim made that expression, too funny! So glad you enjoyed the video, glad we could bring you a little bit of the magic!

love the bologna idea! i will have to remember that one in case i have a little one down the road who is scared to ride certain things.

The bologna worked nicely, something to keep in mind. You are right, only a boy, see what you have to look forward too ;)

i love doing fantasyland first thing in the morning! it's so awesome.

FOR REALZ INDEED! I hope Seth cooperates, would be a COOL place for a first haircut!

Keep it coming!!!
Well thanks, glad you enoy it!
As always, I love reading your trip report, Leslie.

Can you tell me how much Tim's haircut was at the MK barbershop?

Thanks
Thanks, happy you are enjoying it. It was 19 for an adult haircut.

Wish we could have seen them up close, we just saw them passing by, but they sure were funny at 1900 Park fare!

That's JUST OK!?! I think that's a pretty darn good score!

Wow! That is a GREAT wait time for them. We have never waited LESS than 45 in either of these lines! Good for you!

Well thanks, I've scored much better and got my rear kicked again so I just considered it an "o.k." score. Your right, I tried to sit back and relax, but knowing Splash was calling my name it made it hard.
You and Diane are such great DISers! Glad you got to meet Laura.

:woohoo: He is the fast pass MAN!!

:goodvibes BERT?!?!?! Oh my goodness... what a great find... and with a short line? Awesome!!!

You know your children are gorgeous, but Luke just struck me as extra grown up and handsome in this picture...
I think that's the same mayor WE saw! He's SO perfect for that job.

Yes yes YES!! Awesome job!!

It looked like perfect pool weather. SO happy for you all that you got to spend a perfect morning AND afternoon together. :cool1:
The Mayor has the BEST job in Disney in my oppinion! Great pic of you and Shae. I know, BERT!!!!!!! I was so thrilled too!!!!

Oh shoot - I totally missed that your TR had started! And what a great start it is! :thumbsup2 We just returned from a Kidani stay and your pictures are bringing me right back to AKV. :cloud9:

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your adventures!

I so enjoyed the update Lesley!!! I sure hope we get to enjoy some pool time at AKL when we are there in Dec. The weather is so unpredictable that time of year... But a girl can dream! :)

You all sure did a lot in a short amount of time!! Love Tim's pixie dust. Looking forward to more!

Yes we sure did, it was a great day, more to come tonight : )

Day 4 The Finale
On this night we had a reservation for OHana’s and we were excited to get our eat on. The plan was to head over to Magic Kingdom after dinner so that we could see the parade and fireworks together.
We met up in the lobby, the kids were all cleaned up for a nice meal out:
IMG_7558640x480.jpg

We took advantage of having cars and all piled into Diane and Bryan’s minivan as a crew and also took advantage of their Tables and Wonderland Card with the free valet service, NICE!
We checked in and took advantage of the wait time for a photo opportunity:
Our family:
IMG_7567640x480.jpg

Diane, Bryan, Matthew and Eric:
IMG_7566640x480.jpg

The happy couple:
IMG_7569640x480.jpg

Me and my baby:
IMG_7570640x480.jpg

We got one of all the kids, Lauren (in typical Lauren fashion) cracked me up with her impromptu pose here:
IMG_7573640x480.jpg

We were seated and I immediately looked over the drink menu, I decided a strawberry daquari would be yummy (and it was):
IMG_7576640x480.jpg

I honestly forget what this was Tim ordered but it seemed to go down nicely:
IMG_7577640x480.jpg

Lauren was happy to be back at one of her favorite Disney restaurants:
IMG_7575640x480.jpg

Luke and Matthew were too:
IMG_7574640x480.jpg

Our server was really really bad. She would never check in on us, rarely refilled drinks and only after we asked several times. We were at a HUGE table and they would only bring one thing in the middle so no one could reach. I asked the guy who brought the sauce out for another and he said no problem and then disappeared forever. We all felt that they looked at us and knew we were a party of 8 and they were assured an 18% tip and that was not cool. Diane saw others being offered the warm hand towels and we never were and when she asked our server she seemed totally put out about having to get them. When they DID come out they were BURNING hot, so of course then the jokes started like :”you want some hot towels, I’ll give you some HOT TOWELS you SOB’s!!! “ : ) We had to laugh right.
The food was delicious as always and we had fun digging in:
IMG_7578640x480.jpg

IMG_7585640x480.jpg

Our favorite entertainer (don’t know her name but we call her the SHAKA!!! Lady) was there:
IMG_7580640x480.jpg

The kids had a blast dancing in the parade with her:
IMG_7583640x480.jpg

IMG_7584640x480.jpg

My favorite at this meal remains the pot stickers with the peanut dipping sauce, the shrimp and the noodles. The steak this year was the best we’ve ever had there so that was good.
Before we knew it they were bringing out the desert:
IMG_7588640x480.jpg

The kids took a few bites and were ready to get up and dance some more:
IMG_7591640x480.jpg

IMG_7594640x480.jpg

IMG_7595640x480.jpg

I love that Luke was still of the age to get up and dance, I cherish these moments because I know they won’t last much longer:
IMG_7596640x480.jpg

And doesn’t my handsome man do a MEAN hula??
IMG_7598640x480.jpg

Lauren was loving it as well (of course):
IMG_7602640x480.jpg

CONTINUED IN NEXT POST

At one point they had the kids pulled their loved ones up :
IMG_7605640x480.jpg

Well, the meal was over and the skies had OPENED up the past hour, it was one of those major storms with thunder, lightning and constant downpouring rains that you know are just not going to stop. We were sad about it but we headed back to the resort. We still wanted to hang out with our friends so the guys grabbed some beers and headed somewhere in the hotel to enjoy some drinks and male bonding. Diane brought the kids to our room and they had a blast messing around in the room while Diane and I enjoyed some wine. That update will come QUICK (tomorrow probably) I want to get one more update up before we leave on Saturday. By the way Saturday is Tim and my 12 year wedding anniversary, check out my blog for my tribute to him and our marriage: www.livinglifeaslesley.blogspot.com

Great update! I really want to try dinner at Ohana on our next trip!

Congratulations on your anniversary; enjoy your trip!

I just read your Anniversary tribute and yes, I cried. It is beautiful! You can see in your pictures how much your family loves one another, which really stems from what they see and feel in you and Tim, and then ultimately, in the Lord.

I just love your trip reports not only because you write them so well but also because you can feel the love and excitement your family has.
My husband and I are celebrating our 7th Anniversary with our 4 year old daughter, in Disney in September.

Congratulations on your 12th Anniversary, it truly is somewthing to be proud of! :woohoo::yay::lovestruc

Again, this is so much fun, I can just feel the happiness.
Disney can do it for ya!! Sorry about the rain, Florida
can produce some mighty severe storms but it never
takes away the magic!!!:dance3:
