Timandlesley’s how to win a dream in 10 days 11/15 NEW PTR UP!! pg. 94 has link!!!

Love, love, loving the TR so far! You are amazing, Lesley!
I do have one question about DHS...Do they still do the character meet and greets with Lightnin and Mater?

I am just loving your trip report!....:thumbsup2 We leave on Thursday for 9 days in Disney and your pictures are really getting us into the Disney spirit!!! Can't wait to read more.... Thank you!......:goodvibes
Erin

I hate to ask... did you just have the one spray fan? Ours was in our stroller like that tons of time this trip, but I also bought a second one last year and took it too to WDW. That way we had an extra if something happened...I could have given you it.
We only brought one this year, I was going to bring two in case this happens but someone in the PTR said no one would steal it in Disney and I agreed with them, boy was I proven wrong which is such a bummer.
Lesley

Another great installment I can't wait to try Toy Story sound exciting, too bad about the mean CM.
Glad you are enjoying it, Toy story is such fun!
Yeahhhhhh!!! :yay: :dance3:  Tim and Leslie and Luke and Lauren are backkkkkkk!!! I just happened to check the trip report board this morning and there you are! Sorry I am 11 pages late...yikes! I try not to read more than 4 or 5 trippies at once or I start to get all confuzzled. So you really sold me on the dining plan. I would love to do a WL and deluxe dining sometime....I love the fact the Luke and Lauren are old enough to go on all the rides and walk (with some help from the double "Kid transporter"). Sorry about the sprayer going "walkabout" and the Toy Story ride for Tim and Luke. Thank Goodness you nicely told the guest relations people about it and scored 4 "ride whenevers"...completely justified! I wanted to also say you can tell you are an excellent and experienced planner...I will have to call you Tour Guide Leslie! You planned just enough for the first day with a nap in between for all! Good call! OK I am off to do some sewing...I love to sew stuff for my kiddos. Have a great rest of the weekend and can't wait for the next installment!!!! :thumbsup2 :cool1:
So glad you found us again and we make your "4/5 trippies". Yes, I do get a lot done in our trips, thanks for the compliment on the planning. This is the first year I went with the flow more though and didn't have anything written down with us in the parks. Glad you are enjoying it, come back for more!

We are loving this so much:love: So sorry about the fan- you just have to wonder who inthe world would do something like this?

We can't wait to hear about 'Ohana - it is one of our favorite places in the world!
So glad you are enjoying it. I agree, wish I could have seen them steal it and called them out on it. OHana's is our favorite too, you'll see why iin the next installment.
I am so sorry that someone had the nerve to take your fan! Some people are so rude! I am really enjoying your trip report and pictures! Thanks for sharing with us.
I know, doesn't that stink, oh well, bet we were having a better vacation than them if they had to resort to stealing someone elses fan.
Lesley
Your family is so adorable! Thanks for sharing your trip with us! :)

Sorry your morning didn't start off well with the Toy Story ride, barely missing the Dream Team, and having your fan stolen! :headache: Glad to see the Guest Relations CM was able to make it better!

The food at Sci-Fi looks yummy! We had an ADR there on our last trip but ended up cancelling it. Maybe next time! :wizard:
Thank you, you are too sweet. Yes, try to get Sci Fi in next time, it is great fun.

HI Leslie,
You know I wait all year for your TR's. It's almost like waiting for the next Harry Potter book to come out. I don't read harry Potter, but I have friends who have counted down months, then waited in lines at midnight just to buy there book when the store opens, that's how I feel about your TR's.

QUESTION With the Deluxe dining plan, is it 2 table service credits a day and 1 snack? Does the Deluxe plan offer the appetizers, because I know the dining plan has dropped the appetizers for TS. can you use any of the credits on counter service? I love some of the CS places there but don't want to pay OOP, I can't decide if i want to do the deluxe on my January trip or not, what is your opinion?

It totally rots my socks that someone would steal from another family at Disney, they had to of known that they were taking from children because they took it off of the stroller. normal Disney people do not steal, they were probably non Diser's there on a whim,no research or itinerary, staying off property, have no idea how to work the FP system and most likely paid way too much for everything because they did Disney the wrong way. Let's hope anyway!!!!!
Boy did you make my day, that is so super sweet of you, glad I can be your Harry Potter : ) The Deluxe Dining Plan ROCKS! You get 3 meals per day for everyone in your party, that can be used as sit down OR counter service, we used both. Like that roaring forks breakfast we used as Counter service, Sci Fi and OHana's are our other two meals that day. THEN you get 2 snacks per person per night and on top of that you get an appetizer, main entree, desert and drinks for each sit down meal, it really is incredible and we got to experience so many meals and enjoyed every minute of it.
Glad you are enjoying the trip. Thanks so much for your sweet post.
Lesley

Great chapter as usual!! Awesome about the FP!! It just goes to show you if something is wrong you have to speak up!!
Thanks, glad you liked it. Yes, speak up indeed.
What a great update!!!

Loved the pics in the toy story que. That sucks how bad the CM handled the ride not functioning properly. I am so glad guest relations did their magic and now Luke can ride it again, oh and tim, too, and enjoy it fully this time :wizard:

I love the pic of tim and luke on Great Movie Ride.....such a nice pic:)

I can not believe someone stole your mister............That is so rude :furious:

You are not bad, I never knew about the Honey I shrunk the kids playground either. But I will be sure not to miss it this year...Thanks:goodvibes
So glad you liked the update. I like the one of Tim and Luke too, so cute. Although Luke hates that pic, says his teeth look weird ; ) I know, can't believe the mister thing. Yes, check out the HISTK playground, very cool!

Enjoying your TR so much, Lesley. You guys
have such amazing trips and I love reading
how each and every day of your disney
experience goes. Can't wait to read more.
I really look forward to each and every update!:)
So glad you are enjoying it, thanks so much for posting!

can't wait for more!!! :cool1:
Thanks more coming tomorrow, today is just TOO crazy with church and catching up on University of Phoenix work I put off and laundry and dishes, YIKES!

When you guys went to Hollywood Studios were you there for the rope drop? That crowd is huge! We go in Jan/Feb when it is slow and we still have trouble with the crowds in that park. I always get turned around trying to maneuver through. One of the reasons Epcot is my favorite is that it never seems that crowded to me because of the size. Except the Land Pavilion; crazy busy there even when it's slow.
Yes, we were there for rope drop, that pic was taken right before they dropped it. Honestly we always have crowds like that at H.S. I agree, we love Epcot for the same reason, many reasons on top of that but that is what makes it extra special to us.
Funny, when I read your report Lesley, I thought, "I wonder if that was the same girl that Ray met on RnRC." It was a shame that it didn't work for their first ride. But I'm glad that Guest Relations came thru for you! :thumbsup2

I hope the folks that stole your fan, got it stolen from them. :furious:

Oh, and tell Luke that I can't walk by that door and not rub the marbles. It is too cool! :cool2:

That Toy Story ride looks amazing! That was the first Disney movie that my DS (who is now 15 and 6'3") got into. He flew "to infinity and beyond" all over our house. :rotfl2:

Funny thing about the Honey I shrunk the kids playground....that was the ONLY thing he would do at MGM (that's what it was called then ;) :rotfl2: ) when he was 4. It drove us nuts! :headache: We spent ALOT of time there. Glad your kids enjoyed it! Loved Tim's ears. ;)

I LOVE Sci-Fi's milkshakes! YUM! I just hate that they got rid of the popcorn chicken. :worried:
That's funny you thought of Dawn's report. Maybe it was the same. Toy Story is such fun, that is a great memory of your D.S. Oh yes, the Sci Fi Milkshakes are super yummy, Whispering Canyon are my FAVORITES though!

Just finished reading your last installment and had to comment on your stollen water bottle/fan. Someone took my DD balloon that was tied to her stroller on our last visit. We left it sitting behind the Christmas store in MK and came out and it was gone! Who does that???? Besides what do you say to your kid? "Daddy I'm hot!" "hang on honey let daddy see if he can find one. Oh look, this person has one. Here you go" Whatever. Some people have some nerve!!!
Sounds like you had a better day after the whole Toy Story/water bottle incidents.
Isn't that terrible, the nerve of people, that is crazy!!!

Lesley and Tim - your stolen mister fan will probably turn up on eBay. Your family is famous after all! Seriously, it never fails to amaze me what people will stoop to.

Can't wait to read more!

WOW - I am late to the party!

I missed the whole pre-trip :( But I won't miss any of the report!!

Looking forward to reading more.

Great update. That is so great that Luke loved RnR - and rode it 3 times! I don't think I can get my DS on it. :( Each year he surprises me though. We are eating at Sci Fi for dinner...very jealous of the adults in one row. Someday we can do that...heck I'm still waiting for relaxing dinners in resturants. :rotfl2:

Two things. First your daughter is very cute when she poses, she reminds me of my dd 8 years ago when she was 4 I laugh everytime I see her pose because she is so into it.

Second what type of camera do you have?? I am in need of a new one when we go next year???

Thank You love the report!!!!

Just wanted to check in and let you know I'm enjoying the TR. I caught the tail end of your PTR while you were gone. We're headed to WDW in August, and we are living vicariously through you until our trip. :surfweb:

It also seems we're neighbors of a sort. We live in Lebanon, Ohio - just up the road from you. It was cool reading in your PTR about places I actually knew where you were talking about! :rotfl2:

Looking forward to more trip updates! popcorn::

Ji Lesley & Tim
Thrilled to see you are back home and had a great trip. I'm all caught up on your trippie now. WL looks great, one of our favorite resorts. Your pictures are great too, Lauren and Luke are adorable as always. Enjoyed your HS update, glad everything worked out with TSM! I have a question for you, my DS loves Flik and Bugs life. Where is a good parade spot to be sure to see that section? Thanks in advance. Looking forward to hearing more about your trip :goodvibes .

So as we boarded the bus it started to rain, we had great timing this trip with storms, our times in the parks were always sunny and it always saved the rain until we were leaving, so perfect! We went back to the room and I gave the kids a bath. (Luke is VERY afraid of storms ever since we took him to a Children’s Museum exhibit on tornado’s. We had a severe patch of storms producing tornado’s about a week before we left and he was in a ball shaking sure we were going to die.) So…….. fast forward to this storm, it was bad, here is a video I took from our balcony (I think you can hear the kids screaming and me telling Luke he is fine:

Well, Luke hops out of the tub and starts freaking out. He is convinced a tornado is going to get us. I said “Luke there aren’t tornado’s in Florida, that’s an Ohio thing”. Well, he looks to the t.v. and they literally say “yes, tornado warning for the Orlando area, with a possible funnel cloud spotted near Sea World.” WHAT!!! I couldn’t believe it. I called down to the desk to see if we needed to be seeking shelter and she assured me it wasn’t coming our way and they would sound an alarm if it was. I just couldn’t believe it.

Well, we took advantage of the down time in the room and called the hotel in Columbus to see if they had Tim’s cell charger, THEY DID! So……. We asked how much it would be if they over-nighted it to us. He explained we could buy one for that amount and then I explained we were on Disney property without a car, etc. He told me to go down to the desk and see if they had a charger that matched Tim’s phone to borrow for the trip, that people leave them all the time and then we could get his when we arrive back in Columbus. I brushed it off and thought that was a dumb idea but Tim gave it a shot and disappeared down to the lobby. 5 minutes later he appeared with a charger for his phone- UNBELIEVABLE!! So keep that in mind guys.
Well, it was approaching time to head out to OHana’s and wouldn’t you know it the rain was stopping. We headed down to the boat dock and found the boats were running.
Here are Tim and Luke on the boat to the Contemporary:
DSC00835Small.jpg

We then took the Monorail to the Poly. Here are Lauren and I on the monorail:
DSC00838Small.jpg

We got there to check in for dinner and it was a MADHOUSE. The line to check in was super long. Turns out the luau that night was cancelled and I guess when that happens they try to accommodate all of them at OHana’s plus the normal reservations. It was crazy. We were told our 6:50 reservation may look more like at 7:30 or longer. Luckily we had eaten a big lunch. Well, I headed to the bar to get us drinks. I swear, this lady put a TON of alcohol (I watched her pour it) into our drinks. I think she was told to do that so that we wouldn’t mind the wait, because I was pretty tipsy by the time we were called to the table.
Luke took this picture of Tim and I with our drinks as we waited for the table:
DSC00841Small.jpg

Here are the kids waiting oh so patiently:
DSC00843Small.jpg

As we were waiting there was this super nice lady who came up and gave this authentic grass skirt to Lauren, Lauren was thrilled!
DSC00844Small.jpg

We went to the gift shop for a little while to kill some time.
There was this poor family sitting there at the tables, and the lady started crying. Tim overheard her say “I just need some food, I’ve been waiting for 2 hours”. Poor lady.
Luckily we didn’t wait 2 hours, more like 45 minutes, which the drinks made me not mind at all ; )
We were seated at a great table close to the window with a MK view, here was our view:
DSC00846Small.jpg

The food was OUTSTANDING! I was worried about the menu change, but I gotta tell you, it was for the better. (I do miss the potatoes though):
Here is Lauren digging into the salad:
DSC00847Small.jpg

Instead of the chips with sauces they now have these YUMMY fried pork Wonton thingies, OH MY GOSH, these were INCREDIBLE, all 4 of us devoured them quickly:
DSC00852Small.jpg

Instead of the potatoes they had these noodles (the only thing I wish they wouldn’t have changed):
DSC00863Small.jpg

But Lauren LOVED the noodles, here she is sucking some in:
DSC00864Small.jpg

Then they still had vegetables but instead of mixed it is broccoli now which we love:
DSC00862Small.jpg

Then of course there is the salad, the wontons (pictured above) with the dipping sauces, and the yummy bread all as appetizers. For the Main entrees they lost the sausage which I didn't miss and now have shrimp on the screwers instead of appetizers and they were YUMMY, a favorite of our table. You still have to peel them so they get messy but they give you those hot washclothes for a reason. Then of course the steak, pork and turkey too. YUM double YUM!
Then the entertainment for kids at OHana’s for those of you who haven’t been makes this one of our favorite meals. The kids LOVE it and Tim and I love the peace and quiet at the table for us and great food to eat while our kids are entertained and happy:
Doesn’t Tim look like he’s enjoying his meal:
DSC00871Small.jpg

Here is Luke getting up for the dance lessons:
DSC00848Small.jpg

Does this girl look happy or what!?!
DSC00850Small.jpg

Here is Lauren into the hula lesson:
DSC00856Small.jpg

They do coconut races for the kids too where they have to chase coconuts around with brooms, SUCH FUN:
DSC00867Small.jpg

The lady who goes around saying “CHAKA” and singing really is entertaining and the kids just love her.
She got out the limbo pole before we left (a favorite of the kids). The kids got maracas to dance around with:
DSC00872Small.jpg

And then they got to go under. Go Lauren Go!:
DSC00873Small.jpg

We all just loved this meal so much. It was just delicious.
Here is a picture for you to prove once again that Luke is his Father’s son:
DSC00865Small.jpg

Silly, silly, silly boy!
After dinner it was getting close to 8:45. We decided to take the monorail back to the Contemporary, boat to the WL and watch the water pageant. So. We went to the monorail, and luckily the front was open, Luke was THRILLED:
DSC00875Small.jpg

This monorail driver was SO crabby. We tried to talk to him, etc. he was just so rude and would barely talk and what he would say was as a response to you and totally sounded put out, this is the second encounter we’ve had with rude front monorail drivers, what is up with that, they must not like their jobs. We didn’t let it spoil our time though. No monorail driver card from this guy : (
Then we jumped on the night time boat back to the WL. Here is a pretty night time shot from the boat:
DSC00876Small.jpg

We got back to the WL right about 10 minutes before the pageant started. Here is a poor attempt at a photo:
DSC00881Small.jpg

Then we went by Roaring forks for snacks and hit the sack. We were in bed by 10:00 this night, all rested up for our big day tomorrow!!!!

Despite your wait, it looks like you guys had an absolute blast at Ohanas!

Tornadoes are a big fear of mine, too! I had no idea that the area was under a tornado warning until Thursday when I overheard a lady on her cell phone. I just thought it was a really bad thunderstorm. In some cases, ignorance is bliss!

Lesley and Tim - your stolen mister fan will probably turn up on eBay. Your family is famous after all! Seriously, it never fails to amaze me what people will stoop to.

Can't wait to read more!
That's funny, I agree, people can certainly " stoop"

WOW - I am late to the party!

I missed the whole pre-trip :( But I won't miss any of the report!!

Looking forward to reading more.
Well, better late than never, glad you are along for the ride!

:rotfl2:
Enjoy Sci Fi, I highly suggest the adult row,it was great!
Two things. First your daughter is very cute when she poses, she reminds me of my dd 8 years ago when she was 4 I laugh everytime I see her pose because she is so into it.

Second what type of camera do you have?? I am in need of a new one when we go next year???

Thank You love the report!!!!
It is actually a Sony 7.2 megapixel camera. You can get them at Walmart. Nothing fancy.
Lesley

So glad you are enjoying the report, isn't the WL just awesome! Bugs Life stopped closer to the hat, I would ask a CM before the parade starts, I am sure they can show you an exact spot.
Love, love, loving the TR so far! You are amazing, Lesley!
I do have one question about DHS...Do they still do the character meet and greets with Lightnin and Mater?
So glad you are enjoying it. Yes, they have the meet and greet for Lightning and Mater, it has moved and is close to the back lot tour now. SUPER popular though, we kept missing it. They were lining up like 30 min. before, it was crazycrowded but more organized than before.
I am just loving your trip report!....:thumbsup2 We leave on Thursday for 9 days in Disney and your pictures are really getting us into the Disney spirit!!! Can't wait to read more.... Thank you!......:goodvibes
Erin
So glad you are enjoing it, thanks for posting. Have fun in Disney!!!

I must have missed the tornado thing too.... and we were watching the local news in the room at the time is started to storm....sp glad we were not out in that. That would have freaked me out... especially since the weather here had been so bad the previous week.

I thought the O'Hana's food was awesome....how was your waiter/waitress?

Hannah really wanted to see the Electrical Water Parade... we just never were out at MK resorts this trip at the right time- next trip I hope! (Doug says he wants to go back to the WL- no arguement here!)

Our oldest son had a similar experience just like Luke did with tornado's. :scared1: This is how we found out he had an anxiety problem. (There is a whole lot more to the story but it is a very long story). Hope that he gets over the fear soon.

O'hana's looks wonderful!! We have ADR's there for dinner one evening during our trip. I am so looking forward to that meal. :thumbsup2

great update! i used to be UNREASONBLY scared of tornados when i was a kid. i'm talking whenever the wind would blow in the least i'd FREAK out. my mom bought me a book on tornadoes and after i read it, i wasn't scared any more.

i don't know what it is, but i think i'm the only person on the disboards that doesn't like ohana! :scared1: i went there last september and the only thing i liked about the meal was the salad, wonton chips/dips and the dessert. and of course my lapu lapu drink! ;) everything else was just not good to me. maybe i went on a bad night? EVERYONE loves this place and i vowed never to go back. maybe one day i'll give it another try. it's probably more fun if you go with your kids. i went with adults and it was so loud in there that i couldn't hear myself think! i even commented to our server (as i gave her extra tip $!) that i don't know how she works there every night! but like i said, i could've just went on an off night.

Great report:cool1: I love that pic of Lauren sucking that noodle:rotfl2: How fun, that pic of Luke with the umbrella:rotfl2: You guys look like you are having an awesome time. So enjoying reading:surfweb: No tornados in Orlando:lmao: why does that happen? My daughter read The Titanic book before our cruise in January:scared1: I thought she would enjoy seeing how they take a lifeboat down and out for a spin when we were tendered out in Grand Cayman. Not such a great idea, she thought we were sinking and cried every night for the rest of the cruise feeling the ship's movement.::yes:: :lmao:

Wow! You are on the BALL with this one....I leave town for a couple days and you've already gotten 4 installments done! BRAVO!
Can't wait for more!

Loving your trip report - as always! Can't wait for the next installment!:goodvibes

Great tip about the cell phone chargers! I had to make sure to point that out to my husband since he would forget where his head was if it wasn't attached!

Our first trip on the monorail ever - and we were lucky enought to get the front but unfortunate to also get a crabby driver! It was a women and she was so annoyed that my curious son wanted to know how she drove that thing! No driver card for him either! Very disappointing for me, since I knew how some of the CM's could be so wonderful! But our next trip on the monorail he was able to score a card!:cool1:

Can't wait for the next installment!
