Timandlesley’s how to win a dream in 10 days 11/15 NEW PTR UP!! pg. 94 has link!!!

Well I gotta tell you that I join Luke in his opinion and reaction to tornados. I am a big scaredy-cat! I also check the computer :surfweb: if a storm is approaching! We don't have a basement or shelter so yikes  ....if one really does show up which is unlikely :rolleyes1 Don't you just love Ohana's??? Well maybe on not such a crowded night...glad your ressie wasn't too long of a wait. When we went last year I ordered that Laui thing (in a pinapple)...there was sooooooo much alcohol in it I only managed 4 or 5 sips :faint: then passed out cold on the floor...well not really but I know what you mean about the "refreshingly strong drinks" there. I didnt realize the menu changed but the pics of all the food looked yummy!!!! Can't wait to hear about your next day's adventures!!!

GREAT UPDATE!! I have to ask, do you keep a journal with you so you can remember everything from each day? Your report is so detailed!! I just love it :)
Side note: I am so sad they got rid of those potatoes at O'Hanas..i am very suprised at that..those were a big hit with alot of people!..although the new wonton things look really good!

Lesley-

You continue to amaze me and make me very jealous with your trippies. Love 'em. Keep the updates coming.

I do have to ask, cause I went back and looked at Tim, what the aitch E double hockey sticks did he do to loose all that weight.

I want to know his secret. And I want some of those Disney shirts he has.

Thanks.

Great trippee! Can't wait for more! Good tips on the WL Woods view. We're staying there in 2 months! We'll be sure to ask for MK side, upper floors. I like the idea of being by the food court elevators.

Ooh you started you started!!! :hyper:

Great start! (as expected) You never fail to impress!

Would you mind sending me a PM about the Southwest check-in? I have no clue what I'm doing...and yes, my trip's in September, but it will be here before I know it! :thumbsup2

Lauren is SO cute and SO excited in the airport!

Tim's weightloss REALLY shows! I've said it before, but...Way to go Tim!

Bummer on flag family! Do you have another opportunity? Or is that something you can only ask for upon your arrival?

but what a great room assignment!

and a dream already? wow! (well, I guess it was more like a magical moment if she didn't get a certificate...but still! 5 minutes into the trip your baby bags a dream! :goodvibes  )

Glad y'all enjoyed your meal and got such pretty princesses! And I'm impressed that the picture(s) are included in the price of the meal! I wonder if that is just for the deluxe plan or if it applies to the basic dining plan too :scratchin

Lauren is TOO cute posing with the princesses!

:yay: for firsts!!!!! Disney does it best!

first day into the trip and already a gross story. :lmao:

Poopy! :worried:

I know there's probably another update but I don't have time to read further now. So I'll stop here, but I just love the way this is starting out!!!

I just want to give you a HUGE HUG right now!

:grouphug: for the TimandLesley gang!

Great pictures of Ohana!! We are going to eat dinner there for the 1st time in December! Was there a separate kids menu or did everyone eat the same?? Our DD5 loves noodles so she will be excited!!!:cool1:

TR is awesome!

O'Hana's looked awesome! We have adr's for it when we go in August....we ate there twice before, but skipped it the past two trips b/c my kids were just too picky for the rice they served. But they are better now, and they love noodles, plus dh and I love all the shrimp and meat! We'll be eating there and also at Kona (another huge fav!)

We always go in August and it can be very stormy at times but we too have been lucky to not have it hit us when we are in the parks. Funny though...right when you were down there, we got a small tornado touch down in my tiny little town. We are on Long Island, eastern end and tornados NEVER occor here. We had family over for ds's 10th birthday with 95 degree temps. The skies clouded over and a few big plops of rain hit and we moved inside for the cake. No sonner had he blown out the candles (and wished for no school the next day......we dont' get out until this friday) then teh roaring started outside, trees stared falling, hail, you name it! We all had to go into the basement. We were lucky, the only ones on our block with no major damage, but out town looked like a war zone.....worse than any hurricane thats hit here in 50 years or so. No power for two days.....

Must have been freaky tornado week! Loving your trippie!

Yes, the pics were great of O'Hana. We will be eating there for the first time in December, also. I have tried to explain to our DS about the coconut races, etc. so I showed him your pics and it has really helped with the excitement:goodvibes

:thumbsup2 Cell phone charger tip.... that's a keeper
:thumbsup2 Pictures from O'hana... ADORABLE!!
:thumbsup2 Luke turning meteorologist on you... funny
:thumbsup2 Riding in the front of the monorail... yes!

:worried: Crabby driver... what's that about?
:worried: Scary storm... icky!
:worried: Waiting 2 hours for a meal... no thanks!

:furious: I still can't get over that your water bottle fan was stolen...

 Ready for more!! Great update, as usual!!

happy update! I just love Lauren's poses for the camera!!!:cool1:
Thanks, she is so funny

Despite your wait, it looks like you guys had an absolute blast at Ohanas!

Tornadoes are a big fear of mine, too! I had no idea that the area was under a tornado warning until Thursday when I overheard a lady on her cell phone. I just thought it was a really bad thunderstorm. In some cases, ignorance is bliss!
We did have fun. Yes, ignorance is pure bliss, wish we didn't have the t.v. on that night.

I must have missed the tornado thing too.... and we were watching the local news in the room at the time is started to storm....sp glad we were not out in that. That would have freaked me out... especially since the weather here had been so bad the previous week.

I thought the O'Hana's food was awesome....how was your waiter/waitress?

Hannah really wanted to see the Electrical Water Parade... we just never were out at MK resorts this trip at the right time- next trip I hope! (Doug says he wants to go back to the WL- no arguement here!)
Be glad you missed it. We had an awesome waitress, probably the best we've ever had. The Electrical Water PArade isn't anything MAJOR but our kids love it. Hope you get back to the WL.

Our oldest son had a similar experience just like Luke did with tornado's. :scared1: This is how we found out he had an anxiety problem. (There is a whole lot more to the story but it is a very long story). Hope that he gets over the fear soon.

O'hana's looks wonderful!! We have ADR's there for dinner one evening during our trip. I am so looking forward to that meal. :thumbsup2
That's interesting about your son, I hope Luke does too. You will LOVE OHana's.

great update! i used to be UNREASONBLY scared of tornados when i was a kid. i'm talking whenever the wind would blow in the least i'd FREAK out. my mom bought me a book on tornadoes and after i read it, i wasn't scared any more.

i don't know what it is, but i think i'm the only person on the disboards that doesn't like ohana! :scared1: i went there last september and the only thing i liked about the meal was the salad, wonton chips/dips and the dessert. and of course my lapu lapu drink! ;) everything else was just not good to me. maybe i went on a bad night? EVERYONE loves this place and i vowed never to go back. maybe one day i'll give it another try. it's probably more fun if you go with your kids. i went with adults and it was so loud in there that i couldn't hear myself think! i even commented to our server (as i gave her extra tip $!) that i don't know how she works there every night! but like i said, i could've just went on an off night.
I say give it another try, but with kids it does make the evening really nice, maybe it's the drinks every time too ; )
Great report:cool1: I love that pic of Lauren sucking that noodle:rotfl2: How fun, that pic of Luke with the umbrella:rotfl2: You guys look like you are having an awesome time. So enjoying reading:surfweb: No tornados in Orlando:lmao: why does that happen? My daughter read The Titanic book before our cruise in January:scared1: I thought she would enjoy seeing how they take a lifeboat down and out for a spin when we were tendered out in Grand Cayman. Not such a great idea, she thought we were sinking and cried every night for the rest of the cruise feeling the ship's movement.::yes:: :lmao:
Glad you enjoyed the funny pics. Oh my the Titanic before a cruise, wow, that would have been awful.

Wow! You are on the BALL with this one....I leave town for a couple days and you've already gotten 4 installments done! BRAVO!
Can't wait for more!
Thanks, I try, glad you are able to get some in before your trip.
Loving your trip report - as always! Can't wait for the next installment!:goodvibes

Great tip about the cell phone chargers! I had to make sure to point that out to my husband since he would forget where his head was if it wasn't attached!

Our first trip on the monorail ever - and we were lucky enought to get the front but unfortunate to also get a crabby driver! It was a women and she was so annoyed that my curious son wanted to know how she drove that thing! No driver card for him either! Very disappointing for me, since I knew how some of the CM's could be so wonderful! But our next trip on the monorail he was able to score a card!:cool1:

Can't wait for the next installment!
Wanted to pass that cell phone tip on, sure was surprising to us. Sorry you got a crabby driver too, what is up with that!
Lesley

Wow, that storm did sound bad

Poor Luke, glad he was okay.

Tornado warning would scare me, too :scared1:

Looks like you guys had an awesome time at Ohanas.

You can tell the kids had a blast, look at those pics.......always smiling...love it :)

Can't wait to watch Water Pageant this year. That is on our list of must dos this year:thumbsup2
We did have an awesome time. Hope you get to squeeze in the pageant, again, nothing to write home about but something cool to do at night.

A great report so far, we are planning our first trip for this winter with our DS6 and DD8. Your photos are amazing. We are from the Cincy area as well but got lucky on a flight from CVG for a decent price.

I am subscribing to make sure I don't miss anything, we are going for 10 days so hoping to get some ideas from your trip..
So fun, glad you got a flight out of CVG at a decent rate, we just couldn't find anything to beat southwest out of Columbus.
Lesley
Great update, ohanas looks like fun. Thats scary about the storm, its not something we deal with in the UK so i think i owul dbe reacting like Luke too.

Your children really look to be enjoying themselves at ohanas and the food looks lovely, just a shame about the wait.

Love Lukes shirt my eldest ds has the same one and wears it as soon as its washed!!
So you don't have them in the UK? Interesting.
another great installment. those noodles at Ohana's look great! Can't wait for another day.

Now let me give you our Florida tornado story:eek: First some backstory.... So the hubby HATES to fly so we have a fairly large motorhome that we drive to WDW(a few times a year with our 3 dd's) from N.J. Our last trip we went down in February so the DH could go to the Daytona 500 and we left early(a good thing about driving) well we coulnd't get into FW, this was just going to be a quick on FW trip no switching to hotels like we usually do. So I got us into a campground in 192 near the walmart and as soon as we put on the TV a tornado watch flashes across the screen, the news anchors are saying how severe the storms are going to be but by 11 pm they would be gone. My girls freaked out but I got them calemed down and asleep since it wasn't raining. I stayed awake to make sure the watch was gone and them the news people say it will last until 7 am, just them it starts hailing and raining so hard. My Dh jumped up and said you pack I'm calling PC. We had my MIL with us so we ended up pulling in PC at almost midnight with no ressies and got 2 rooms. And that afternoon there was a tornado in Cocoa beach. I was laying in bed that night in PC about 3 am and I heard sirens going off and the wind howling outside and all I could do was be thankful that we decided to change our plans::yes::
Oh WOW, that is crazy, thank God for PC!
Great trip report. I can believe someone would steal your fan I am from NYc and I don't trust anyone I was in the target parking lot and I left my double stroller on the side of my car when I realized it was gone ( about 5 minutes) I ran back outside and it was gone my cell phone was in it and when I called it, it was turned off so the person who took it could of easily returned it, but no that is why I always say PEOPLE ARE ANIMALS!
I know, I can't get over the fan either. That is a crazy story, how nuts!
Lesley

GReat update!!! That is soo funny about the storm, we had NO IDEA it was under a tornado watch :scared1: AND we were STUCK in it @ HS... IT was scary...

Looks like you guys had a great time @ Ohana's... It seems like they did alot more for the kids on your night then mine, we probably just weren't paying attention...

Can't wait for your MK day...
Glad you enjoyed the update, you are lucky you didn't know about the tornado. We did have fun at OHana's. MK day is fun so stay tuned!!!

The TSM ride looks so much fun but how rude was the CM, I wonder if it was the same girl as Ray had :confused3

And for someone stealing your fan :headache:

Looks as though you had loads of fun at 'Ohanas, your DD is so photogenic and her curls are so cute. The boat ride home looked so pretty, pity about your monorail driver we had a grumpy one when we did it too?!?!?
It is such fun!!! Thanks for the kid comments. What is up with the grumpy monorail drivers???

Oh my, I want to be at 'Ohana's right now! That looks like an absolute blast. I am so happy about the menu changes, because we have missed the bread SO MUCH!
I know, me too!!!! The bread is there and that is yummy.

Another great update!!! I can't wait to try Ohanas. We have never been there and in Sept we are giving it a try!!

That weather looks like what we had here all weekend!!
Glad you are enjoyng it, you will love OHana's.

Lesley--another great installment!!! That Tornado warning was pretty scary!! We have some crazy stories about that--I need to get there first though on my TR!! Glad that it really was the only time we had any rain that whole week. We loved the new stuff at Ohana's--did you guys get the sticky wings??? They were unbelievable!!! Tom almost cried I think when he found out there were no more potatoes, but still a GREAT meal!!!
It is scary. We did have the wings I forget about those because I don't eat them but tim and Luke LOVED them!

Oh, I'm sorry poor Luke was afraid of the storm! :( It was a doozy, wasn't it?

We were in AK during that time, I was in the Dinoland Boneyard with 3 of my boys, while my dh rode Dinosaur with our oldest. Well, not long after we walked into the playground the rain began. They announced that the playground was closing but the Digsite would remain open. I guess since it is covered they keep that open. So we went over there.

Well that storm got worse and worse and I was getting a bit nervous that we were outside. There were several families in there, and it was me alone with my younger 3 with pouring rain outside of the covering (in other words, it would have been CRAZY for me to take us out of there and go somewhere in that rain!), so I stayed put. The thunder and lightening startled all the kids in there a few times, but they thought the whole experience was kinda cool. lol My 2 yr old was playing with the water that dripped down in between the roof areas. We survived, and then enjoyed an emptier AK after that! :thumbsup2

We enjoyed the new(est) 'Ohana menu as well. Those shrimp were SO good! I love the hot washcloths too, they work great! Oh and we ate breakfast at 'Ohana that morning. Our dinner there was the previous Saturday night. :)

That is so cool about the phone charger!!! Great tip, thanks! :)
It was a doozy, can't believe you were out at AK in that, glad you guys were ok. Yes, those shrimp are super yummy.

Yum -- 'Ohana's looks like such a fun dinner!

I'm so glad you always put how you got from WL to your destination. This is our 1st time on-site and I'm very curious to find out the best routes. Since we're also going to 'Ohana, that's just one less for me to think about!
:goodvibes
It really is super fun. Glad the destination tips help, I'll continue to put them in.

wow i get back from teh weekend, and you have like 6 updates...very cool, loved reading them all and i had no idea they changed the menu of ohana...i have to ask my parents about that they just ate there like 2 weeks ago...and did not say anything about the menu change...now it makes me wanna eat there in december.
Very cool, enjoy getting caught up!!!

Poor Luke! I'm glad it stopped raining before you had to leave for Ohana!:thumbsup2 Ohana is awesome isn't it! We LOVED the wontons too! I had that same drink as you when we were there and it made me tipsy too!:rotfl: Looking forward to more!:thumbsup2
I am glad too, it was perfect timing. Yes, OHana rocks! Funny about the drinks, gotta love that bartender!

Lesley! I finally got the time to look and see where you could be, only to find that you had a new thread up! I am a little slow sometimes! :goodvibes

All caught up this morning, and love your TR so far!
- nice that security was short
- looks like you had a great time right away on your first day!
- TSM looks so fun - I couldn't believe the CM was so uncaring. I'm glad you got the FP, though.
- Ohana's looks really good, although I liked it the way it was. DH will love the noodles next time!
- looks like the storm let up pretty fast! That's good for Luke!

Thanks for posting another great TR! I love it when you take us along, and it's fun to see how big the kids are getting!
Glad you found us, glad you are enjoying another TR.

Loving your trip report!!! You have such cute kids!! Can't wait for more
Thank you!
I'm reading too. My DH told me about your report and that you guys are from Maineville. We're from Lebanon. Looking forward to catching up and then continuing on with your report. :thumbsup2

Cathy
Glad you found us, it's a small world after all ; )
Well I gotta tell you that I join Luke in his opinion and reaction to tornados. I am a big scaredy-cat! I also check the computer :surfweb: if a storm is approaching! We don't have a basement or shelter so yikes  ....if one really does show up which is unlikely :rolleyes1 Don't you just love Ohana's??? So funny about storms, I have never been afraid but this one did freak me out a bit. I almost got the pinapple drink, but the daquari rocked!

Great trip report so far. Thanks for sharing.
You are welcome glad you enjoy it.
I kept a journal for the first 5 days and the last day but not the others, my photos are llike my journal, unfortunately though the pictures in photobucket didn' upload in order so that could make it tricky. Those wonton things ROCK!

Thanks.
Oh, don't make them make you jealous, glad you enjoy them though. You should PM Tim about the weight loss. Long story short, Biggest loser motivated him, diet, excercise, motivation, he did GREAT!
He gave all his old Disney shirts to Sooze.
Lesley

Great trippee! Can't wait for more! Good tips on the WL Woods view. We're staying there in 2 months! We'll be sure to ask for MK side, upper floors. I like the idea of being by the food court elevators.
You are welcome, woodsview MK side won't disappoint!!!
Lesley

Ooh you started you started!!! :hyper:

Great start! (as expected) You never fail to impress!

I just want to give you a HUGE HUG right now!

:grouphug: for the TimandLesley gang!

So glad you found us and are getting caught up, send me a PM with your questions about Southwest and I'd be happy to share.

I forgot to say I LOVE the "next episode" TV! That must be Tim's doing...
HEY, there is an AWESOME addition to the TR and you just ASSUME it was from Tim???:furious: O.k. IT WAS! :rotfl2: ;) Of course it was, isn't it cute, I just love it:)
Great pictures of Ohana!! We are going to eat dinner there for the 1st time in December! Was there a separate kids menu or did everyone eat the same?? Our DD5 loves noodles so she will be excited!!!:cool1:

TR is awesome!
The menu is the same for everyone at OHana's but I've been told by parents of picky eaters you can order chicken fingers, etc. and they'll do that too.
O'Hana's looked awesome! We have adr's for it when we go in August....we ate there twice before, but skipped it the past two trips b/c my kids were just too picky for the rice they served. It sounds like a freaky tornado week. Glad you are enjoying it.

Yes, the pics were great of O'Hana. We will be eating there for the first time in December, also. I have tried to explain to our DS about the coconut races, etc. so I showed him your pics and it has really helped with the excitement:goodvibes

Hey there! I was so happy to see that you guys had started your report when I was browsing the Trip Report forum this afternoon. I only check it every few weeks for new ones so I was happy that I found this before it got too long.

Lauren is an absolute doll in all her photos, she and Luke must love to be in front of the camera as they always look so happy posing for the pictures.

Your pictures of the Wilderness Lodge are making me homesick and I was ever so tempted to call CRO today to switch our August reservation over.

Glad to hear that 'Ohana is still good even with the menu change. I know I'll miss the potatoes though. I go for the atmosphere, activities, and dessert! We even go to 'Ohana for breakfast - all 3 boys will their matching Hawaiian shirts. We are also going to Kona for breakfast - 3 trips to the Poly and we aren't staying there? What's up with that?:confused3 :goodvibes
The pics of the kids playing the games at 'Ohana are the best!
I have heard about the crabby drivers on the monorail too much lately...never been up front and now I'm afraid to ask!

Great report! I think we were there the day of that tornado. We were in DTD and heard reports of a rope tornado between Epcot and Celebration.
:scared1:
Being from Kansas we thought it ironic.

Wow, I wasn't aware of the menu changes at Ohana. I love the potatoes, sad to see the go, but the other new items look great. This place is a must do for us along with Boma and breakfast at Crystal Palace.

Enjoying your TR as always!! When we went to Disney at the end of May we got to ride in the front of the monorail also. Now mind you my "kids" are 19 & 15 but I thought it was GREAT. I got some great pictures going into Epcot. Our driver was being trained by another driver so we did not do too much talking since one driver was trying to train the other driver. It was interesting because if the driver wasn't going fast enough the instructor would tell him to speed up & things like that. It was our 5th trip but the 1st time in the front. We did get some "pilot licenses" also. I am putting ours in the scrapbook I am putting together. So sorry you had a grouchy driver!! Glad you enjoyed your Ohana's meal. We went there last year & the year before so we did not go this past trip but will probably go in 2010 when my hubby & I go for our 25th!! Can't wait for the next update! I told my husband " I have to see if Leslie posted an update"!!

I was reading your latest installment to my husband while he lies on the floor playing the old Gauntlet video game. He's all into his game and I'm reading away about O'hana and when I get to the menu items I hear this: "Ooooooooo shrimp!!" Nice to know he's listening. We're going to O'hana for dinner (our first time) on our next trip. Too bad the potatoes are gone; I was looking forward to those. But the noodles look good, too. What was the dessert?
