Timandlesley’s how to win a dream in 10 days 11/15 NEW PTR UP!! pg. 94 has link!!!

Well, I just found your PTR and TR from your MySpace page today at around 5pm and I started reading. I did take a break for dinner and the last few innings of the Braves and a movie but I just jumped back on and finished all your PTR posts and am up to date on the TR. Great start so far! Looking forward to more.

I've been away visiting friends and family since June 19. I checked email but I didn't want to spend time on the DIS when I was at other people's houses.

So it is awesome to be back home and have your TR to read! Your trip is so much fun to read about.

I have not read all the comments, just your entries mostly, but I wanted to comment on this, although someone else probably has already:

At like 11 a.m. the return time was around 8-9 p.m. so you were locked out of FP’s the rest of the day.

You don't get locked out of FPs for the rest of the day! You can get another one in 2 hours or when your return window opens, whichever comes first. Your FP says when you can get another FP. You can see it on the photo of your BTMRR FPs, at the bottom.

Lesley - You couldn't possibly ask too many questions. Wish I had points to rent to you. IN fact, I know someone on the boards who is extremely reliable that I'd recommend. Just tell me when you're ready. Make sure you decide by the 11 month out mark so you are sure to get what you want. :) BWV owners can make their reservation for 11 months from checkin date for their length of stay. BWV is sometimes very difficult to get. And if you want BW view you'll want to get that requested quickly. Renters normally do not require payment in full so I think as long as you had a deposit for him you'll be fine.

I cannot recommend the BW enough!

I forgot to ask this in my last post - but can anyone go to Fort Wilderness for the smores/fire and movie? Or do you have to stay there or know someone that is staying there? What time does all the fun start??

I think anyone can, I have heard of other people doing this as well.

Yes, anyone can go which I knew and was worried it would be crowded but was pleasantly surprised to see it was not crowded at all. We got there around 8:30 and the singalong had ended and they were doing smore's and starting the movie so I don't know when the singalong was, I would guess around 8:00. You could always call to find out but it sure is fun.

Tim and Lesley---LOVE the video and CONGRATS on almost 10 years of wedded bliss!!

I just wanted to let you know I know you may be considering renting DVC points for your next trip--I highly recommend it!! We have done this for our past 3 trips, and have had no problems!! We have stayed at BWV, SSR, and OKW---BWV is our favorite b/c of location and ease of transportation via boat to EP and HS, and it is a smaller resort so the buses aren't usually too crowded and everything is easily accessible around the resort--great main pool for the kiddos too! They do also have the WL villas in case you just want to stay "home!" I do have some recommendations that I would be happy to share with you if you need any more advice or help with renting DVC! Let me know if there are any questions or concerns you have!! I would love to be able to help you all some how since you have been so much help to me!!! Thanks guys!! Jen

Great installment! WCC sounds and looks like so much fun. It's definitely on our list for next time. :)

Yeah, I'm caught up. Now I can read with you as you go along. Great trip report and pics. :thumbsup2 I absolutely loved the horse ride. :lmao: Can't wait to hear even more ::yes::

Update coming tonight guys, I promise, hang tight :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Day 4:
Mickey woke us up chasing Stitch ONCE AGAIN at 6:45 a.m. we got up, got dressed and were at the bus stop by 7:25 for an 8:00 breakfast. It seems like it took forever to get to AK because the bus came at 7:35 and then had to stop at Grand Floridian, then went to Typhoon Lagoon, then we FINALLY arrived at Animal Kingdom for our 8:00 reservation at 8:10, that stunk because we were rushing big time, didn’t even stop for pictures and were sweaty by the time we got to breakfast (it was a HOT/HUMID morning)
Luke and I at breakfast:

Breakfast was the normal yummy Disney breakfast buffet food:
DSC01016Small.jpg

The kids were excited that Daisy was at this meal. I didn’t really like the new location because it puts you farther away from Expedition Everest. The character interaction at this character meal has always seemed rushed to me and it seemed that way again this morning. The kids had a blast though so that’s all that mattered.
I did like the addition of the “shakers”:
DSC01017Small.jpg

And the dancing around the restaurant with the characters, the kids loved this:
DSC01022Small.jpg

The characters came fast and furious:

Once again I asked for our bill when we sat down which was helpful. The characters weren’t through coming around at 8:50 and Tim wanted to beat the crowds to Expedition Everest. He LOVES that ride the most out of all the rides in the park and I think he enjoys being Fast Pass runner at this park because he also does standby line and the past few years has been the first ride of the day, this year was no different.
The thing that stunk is I had mistakenly left my cell phone in the room on this day so I had no communication with him. I told him the kids and I would leave breakfast and head to Dinoland and meet him there in front of Triceritop Swirl.
The kids and I had fun riding:
DSC01031Small.jpg

DSC01032Small.jpg

Luke just loves being able to control the ride:
DSC01033Small.jpg

After our ride Luke wanted to pose with this guy:
DSC01035Small.jpg

We sat there and waited for Tim for what seemed like forever, and remember it was HOT!!! I tried to entertain the kids by showing them some nearby animals:
DSC01036Small.jpg

But I didn’t want to take my eye off of Triceritop Spin because I didn’t want to miss Tim with our lack of cell phones and all. At 9:30 he strolls up with Wayne and Lauren, I guess they were fast pass getters for the family and stole the first morning ride with Tim, we were thrilled to run into them again. He said Penny and Emily were in front of Dinosaur, they literally were several benches away from us this whole wait, so funny!
So we decided to all ride Dinosaur together, I had debated putting Lauren on it, but now that the entire crew was together riding, she wanted to ride with the other Lauren and Emily so away we went.
Here is Luke in front of the ride:
DSC01037Small.jpg

On the ride:
DSC01038Small.jpg

Our ride photo, I think this is so funny, poor Penny looks terrified doesn’t she : )
DSC01039Small.jpg

After that we sent Tim and Wayne ahead to grab Fast Passes for us at the Safari and we headed over to Expedition Everest.
DSC01042Small.jpg

I was so excited for Lauren to ride it but as we approached, to my eye she totally met the requirement, but this lady said she could slide her pinky in over her head (Lauren slouched a bit when she did this) and she wouldn’t let her ride. BUMMER! Luckily Penny doesn’t do those kind of rides so Lauren (who was a little let down she wasn’t big enough) stayed with Penny in the gift shop. Penny took Luke’s gift card from me and got him the t-shirt he had picked out to spend his souvie money on, so that saved us a wait in line after the ride. THANKS PENNY ! Then Tim, myself, Wayne, Emily, Lauren and Luke headed to ride Expedition Everest:

CONTINUED IN NEXT POST!

Tim and I got in the front!!! It was so cool being able to ride together and here are Lauren and Luke behind us in line:
DSC01044Small.jpg

Me and my baby front row!!!

The view from the top:
DSC01048Small.jpg

The Yeti’s shadow (those are some BIG shoes to fill, big foot, Tim’s hint in the t.v. last episode, get it??):
DSC01050Small.jpg

I just love that ride. I must say, after experiencing it from the front it was SO cool. I actually saw the track flip over when you go from backwards to forwards, it was great to see how it worked. That ride is so fun!
After that we all decided to head over to Kali River Rapids, it was a super hot day, Penny, Wayne and family had never ridden it so we decided to go for it. The standby wait said 20 min. but it only felt like 10 or less, it moved super fast.
Tim in line:

Lauren rode with Emily:

The other Lauren with Luke:
DSC01057Small.jpg

So I rode with my buddy Penny and we stuck the two boys Tim and Wayne together, it was funny how squished they were. We thought for sure they would get the worst of it with the weight being on their side but OH NO! As we were going up the hill backwards Tim said “Lesley, you have a white t-shirt on”. STUPID me. Next thing you knew it Penny and I had a gigantic gyser behind us and everyone was pointing and laughing at us as we went from dry to couldn’t find an ounce of dry on us. Penny got it worse than me but we both got it super bad. I must say though that on a hot day like it was that day I didn’t mind.
After we were done and were all laughing hysterically from the ride we just had the kids were all begging to ride it again. We decided, sure why not!!!
We rode again and as we were going up the hill the boat turned suddenly putting Penny and I in the line of fire again. Penny looked at me right before the gyser was going to explode over us again and said “SERIOUSLY!?!?” It was priceless!!! Sooooooooooooooo funny! We were nailed once again. At the end of the ride there was this stream of water that went right across my chest like rapid gun fire, we were all cracking up!
After the ride we were all headed to the Safari and we past the bird show and Penny really wanted to see that (we all know Tim and birds) so we parted ways there and wished them well, we were a little sad because they were leaving to go home tomorrow and knew we wouldn’t get to hang out with them the rest of our trip.
We headed to the safari with our Fast Passes:
DSC01060Small.jpg

I won’t bore you with a ton of safari pics because they all tend to look the same from one trip report to the next but we had a great safari and the animals were out and active. Here are a few highlights:
DSC01066Small.jpg

DSC01077Small.jpg

Lauren LOVES flamingo’s I think it’s because they are pink:
DSC01082Small.jpg

Speaking of Lauren, she got quiet all of a sudden and I looked down and she was SOUND asleep:
DSC01091Small.jpg

Guess those late nights and 6:45 wake up calls finally got to the poor girl. After the safari we had about an hour til’ our lunch reservations at Yak and Yeti but were ready for lunch and ready for some air conditioning and to get out of that heat. We decided to head that way and see if we could check in early.
Luke stopped to drum along the way:

Here is the new restaurant:
DSC01094Small.jpg

Our table was ready early and we were very happy. Luke was loving his chopsticks:
DSC01097Small.jpg

And Tim was loving his adult beverage:
DSC01101Small.jpg

The restaurant was just beautiful, our waitress was super nice and the food. OH MY GOSH, the food was out of this world!!!
I ordered egg rolls for an appetizer, they were honesty the best I have ever had, beat your chain Chinese restaurant hands down. Tim ordered these pork won ton thingy’s, OH MY GOODNESS (man, I keep saying that) they were outstanding, the kids were fighting Tim for them. Here is a pic of our appetizers:
DSC01102Small.jpg

It was nice that they had different kids meal options there (10 days on Disney dining the poor kids see the same menu over and over.). Lauren got the noodles and chicken fried rice with applesauce and loved it:
DSC01106Small.jpg

Luke got chicken and fried rice:
DSC01104Small.jpg

I got the beef and broccoli, it was outstanding:
DSC01105Small.jpg

Tim got the steak and shrimp and loved his meal too:
DSC01103Small.jpg

For desert we got hot fudge brownie sundaes. O.k. I have to say it again. . . .OH MY GOSH, this was so good!

The kids got yummy sundaes too:
DSC01108Small.jpg

This was the very first time that the waitress at the end of the meal straight up asked us how we would be tipping her. More on this in another update when we talk to a waitress about the new tipping policy, I did find it a bit odd for her to just ask, but I guess she has been stiffed enough that she knew she needed to say something. We left her a nice cash tip and left with our full bellies, this was such a yummy meal. WE LOVE THE DISNEY DELUXE DINING PLAN!!!
Unfortunately we did not get to see Nemo again this year and this was our only Animal Kingdom day, something to look forward to doing another year so I guess we’ll have to go back : ) We headed to the exit. Tim and Luke were headed to Downtown Disney to do my birthday shopping (hmmmmmmmmm, wonder what they will get me…. Stay tuned to find out). Lauren and I were headed back to the hotel for some naps, sounded REALLY good after a long hot morning. On our way out Lauren spotted Pocohantas and was SO excited so we waited in a kinda long line for her to meet her:
DSC01109Small.jpg

DSC01110Small.jpg

Lauren was so thrilled and kept saying how pretty she was.
We headed back to the room and found these toothbrush holders made for the kids from mousekeeping:
DSC01112Small.jpg

Lauren thought they were so cute and never took her toothbrush out of them the whole trip, she brushed her teeth with those on them the rest of the time, so cute.
Then Lauren and I fell FAST asleep in those big wonderful Wilderness Lodge beds for a nap after an awesome morning at Animal Kingdom.

loving your TR, can't wait to get back to disney. Your children are beautiful and I love to see happy kids at disney (as opposed to the crying whining ones we usually end up sitting next to !! LOL)

What a bummer that Lauren didn't get to ride EE. :worried: You should have put a big hairbow in her hair that morning. :rolleyes1

DD and I got to ride in the front of EE, back in Jan. and I must say it is AWESOME!!! I agree that it is neat to see how the track flips. ;)

Yak and Yeti looks YUMMY!! Especially the sundaes! YUM!!!!

Lauren looks like she had a quick pick me up nap because she looks fabulous next to Pocahontas. :cutie:

I'm going out of town for my parents 50th wedding anniversary party tomorrow, so I'm glad I got to read the latest installment before I left.::yes::
