Tim Tebow

During the Tebow trade negotiations Mark Sanchez threw 2 interceptions.....I really want to know what the Jets are going to do with 2 QBs that can't throw. As a Pats fan I am going to enjoy the unrest in the Meadowlands, it's going to take exactly 1 quarter of bad play out of "Sanchise" before the "Tebow, Tebow" chants begin....The Wildcat won't work, the second Tebow steps onto the field the Defense is going to know what is going to happen and be prepared for it kind of like what happened in 2008 once teams adjusted to it when Miami and Philly were using it. The bottom line is 90% of the College plays and schemes don't work in the NFL for more than 6 or 8 games, before teams start adjusting, history has taught us so.

Of course the Jets could always trade Sanchez and make Tebow their starting QB or convert Tebow to an H Back, but having Tebow as your 2nd string is going to divide that Jets locker room more than it already is.....Which like I said as a Pats fan is A OK with me :thumbsup2

This trade makes no sense at all, but then again, neither do the Jets.

They have QB issues with Sanchez so they try to get Manning. He says no so what do they do, they give Sanchez a contract extension. They then trade for Tebow. A QB that runs like a fullback but unfortuntely throws like one too (thanks to Scott Stinson for that analogy).

The Jets continue to confuse their fans, players, and everyone else.

The problem with Miami and the wildcat was that Ronnie Brown couldn't throw the ball. Teams caught on quick because, eventually, they figured out Ronnie would run. With Tebow, you have much more flexibility.

Whether this is good or bad for the Jets is still to be determined. But, the Jets won big when they were pounding the ball, not throwing it. Tebow can RUN. They have locker room issues and while Tebow is not many fan's cup of tea, most players that play with him say he's a stand up guy, don't have to worry about him embarrassing the team and is a born leader. Additionally, it might wake up Sanchez and keep him on his toes. Also, don't forget Tebow/Broncos beat the Jets/Sanchez last year.

Im a diehard Dolphin fan (can't get any worse) and I am NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO fan of the Jets,in fact, there is no team I can't stand more! But I don't see this as all bad for them. Sure doesn't make me look forward to playing the Jets here. We all ready have to deal with all the NY transplants, now the ex-Gators will invade as well. UGH....

I am so upset about this trade. I am a Tebow fan. I do not think he is best NFL quarterback by far; I agree that he needs some teaching and work to improve. However, I am a fan of his character, integrity, and generosity. He is a class act. The Jets seems to be the exact opposite of that. I agree they chew them up and spit them out. They are crude, and their coach is..............well,.......the complete opposite of Tebow. I am so sad about this one. :sad2:

Good point, I could be way wrong but didn't the Phins use Pat White (or whatever his name is, the dude from WV) at times in their Wildcat scheme? And the Eagles used Michael Vick in theirs and it wasn't very successful. Tebow arm wise is a poor man's Michael Vick and that's not saying much. I just don't see the Wildcat being successful, what made Tebow successful last year is that he was out there full time so it kept the Defense in a prevent type style not wanting to be too aggressive for fear of getting beating up the sideline by Thomas or in the middle by Fels that was of course when Tebow was on target.

You are 100% correct the Jets are a scary team when they get into their groove with the ground and pound game. They have little confidence in Sanchez they might as well trade him, start Tebow at QB and sign a a pounding running back to compliment Greene, maybe Cedric Benson. The Jets Offensive line is already built for the running game over the passing game so the trade for Tebow makes sense and starting him makes even more sense. Trust me I am in no way a fan of Tebow or the Jets but it just makes sense.

When I mentioned divide the locker room I meant into two factions the Sanchez camp and the Tebow camp, that kind of division is never healthy for even the strongest locker room in the league never mind the diva filled locker room of the Jets. At the very least this move is going to bring an entertainment factor to the NFL season, I kind of feel bad for Jets fans...kind of :P

Yeah, but Pat White couldn't even take a hit LOL! Maybe its just the Dolphins, we can't seem to do anything right lately.

Im in for entertainment. But I don't feel bad for Jets fans, Im a Dolphins fan, all my pity is being used up for self-pity!

Funny thing is that it is being reported here in Denver that after the Jets trade hit a snag, the Broncos gave Tebow the choice of continuing talks with the Jets or going to Jacksonville.

Tim allegedly chose to go to the Jets. Although now Tebow is denying he got a choice, that he is just going where he was told to go.

But it seems NY is where Tebow wanted to go.

I am currently repulsed by my own Jets tshirts.

I ... WHY!?

Football-wise, because we need two qbs with issues getting a ball where it's supposed to go?

What exactly will this do for Sanchez that's positive?

Not football-wise, is this city really the best fit for that insufferable tool?

Currently hoping he was just bait for some better deal.... or that someone will sack him into next season in a preseason game, because I can't see what good would come of this.

Pretty nasty. The media frenzy is not of his making so why all the hatred...not just from you but from so many.
I take it from the vitriolic post that you know him personally, and he committed some heinous act against you.

can you provide a link for this information or is this your speculation?

http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/sto...-broncos-complete-tim-tebow-trade-second-time

in this one it says "Tebow denied that he had final say in where he was going.

"Ultimately, I really didn't have any because the Broncos had all that power," Tebow said, adding that Denver was "gracious" in the way it handled the process. "I was just kind of watching and waiting -- kind of like everybody else. It was an interesting day."

It is not my speculation.

It was reported on both last night's sports report on the nightly news and then again this morning, although it was mentioned again now with the caveat that Tebow is now denying that he was given the choice.

duplicate - sorry I didn't think it posted - came back with security token missing???

the "is now" part has me confused - did Tebow himself ever say he had the choice ---- or just the media's so called "source"?

Paraphrasing but the report I read yesterday was that Elway took an opportunity during the trade snag to ask Tebow where he wanted to go and that Tebow said he was excited about going to NY. The article quoted Elway.

It was on ESPN last night, but I can't find the article now....but I remember turning to my DW last night and saying Floridians aren't going to be too happy with Tebow for that....

I am willing to bet that Tebow didn't think Elway would mention that conversation to the media so now he is trying to do damage control by denying it.

I think most Floridians want him to go where is best for him, I don't see them getting mad over the statement....

I do find it surprising though if he said that....excited about NY? yuck! oh well, guess we will all see how this eventually shakes down....with this and the whole Saints debaucle, should be an interesting year.....if they have the Jags and Dolphins on their schedule, we'll try and make the trip - I love the Jax stadium and the fans there are awesome!

Tebow signed with the William Morris Agency.

They will make millions marketing himself in New York.

I don't think Tebow's fans understand how much of a machine is behind Tebow.

Everything he does is carefully orchestrated. Look at the rules his people have for him when he makes appearences:

He is managed just like any other big time protected celebrity.

I am amused at everyone who thinks he is just a down to earth humble ah-shucks kinda of guy.

This isn't the 1st time there have been 'differences' between what Tebow is saying and what others are saying about events that have happened.

I don't think Tebow planned for or expected the kind of media attention he has received. I have never blamed him for that. However, I have maintained that he jumped on that train when he saw the direction it was headed. Who can blame him? I definitely feel that every move he now makes is very choreographed and he is soaking it up. I don't see humble. I see a huge ego which means he will fit in perfectly in the big leagues.

Of course! He's an "actor" as much as he is a football player.
