Tim(minus)Lesley's Guy's Only Trip to Disapalooza Day 3! DISAPALOOZA! pg.9 2/6

Same flight we take too. Amazing how we all live so close to each other.

Great report so far Tim!

Great opportunity! So glad you found a way to go! Loved the line, can't you drive faster for the love of God! Hahaha

Also, love that you have to explain, not together! LOL!

The Candlelight Proc at Epcot sounds wonderful! I'll have to do that one day.

Can't wait for more!

What a way to start a trip! The CP looks wonderful. Hooray for Disney for celebrating the true meaning of Christmas. :santa: Isn't that fantastic! The fireworks at Epcot were awesome! Can't wait for the rest!
Thanks, it was so much fun!!!
popcorn:: i am in too popcorn::
Just in time for the 2nd installment!!
Tim, Great TR so far! I LOVE
diz at christmas, my fav time
to visit. So, you gotta tell me,
just how jealous were Lesley,
Luke and Lauren about your solo
trip???? They had to be just a wee
bit green!!!:lmao:
Lesley and the kids were really supportive up until 2 days before, and the jealousy became more evident. But hey, can you blame them!!!
YAY!! Tim is getting his Trip Report on!!

I can imagine how strange it felt for you to be traveling solo. I guess you just had to settle for being silly for strangers, instead of entertaining Lesley and the kids!;)

Did you get to ride the newly refurbished Space Mountain? Or was Bryan sick of it by the time you found him?!

Sorry you were so cold at Epcot... Was the budget too tight to go buy a nice new fleece for yourself?!?:rolleyes1

We are trying the Germany restaurant for the first time on Spring Break. The picture of your plate assures me that Matt will certainly be able to find something to eat! Glad they got you in, even with the mix up. (Seriously, why DO they give us confirmation numbers?!?!):confused3

LOVED the video of the Illuminations finale. I have one just like it, but it's from Mexico. If I ever get my TR updated, you can check it out!

Thanks for getting this going! Can't wait to hear more...
You'll just have to see about Space Mountain, traveling alone was weird, but I entertained myself, I wasn't to poor for a fleece, just to stupid, Biergarten was really fun and the food is AWESOME!!! Thanks for reading!!
Hi Tim!! I'm subscribing!! I'm really enjoying the TR so far!! One quick question--what were the dates of your trip? Just curious as we're planning a trip for this December!! :goodvibes
Thanks for reading!!! Our trip was 12/11-12/13......not crowded!
Great start Tim, can't wait to read the many adventures of Bryan and Tim!
Thanks, we had a blast!
That's the same flight we always take out of dayton...flight 703. The wife & I are actually trying to get it named after us since we take it so many times. I agree about the staff but you sure can't beat the flight time, from Dayton to Disney in 2 hours! :woohoo:

Anyway, great trip report, can't wait to read more!
The flight time was great, just sooooo different from Southwest.
703 was our flight last September. The time is great & no time in Atlanta airport.

Great TR so far, love the Timandlesley reports.
Thanks!!!
(not together)

This made me laugh like a crazy person. :lmao:

When were you there Tim? I'm thinking our dates were close. We were there 12/5-12/12 and had a snap of chilly weather too. Can't wait to read even more!
Glad that you had a nice laugh! We were there 12/11-/12/13.
Awesome firt day!!!:cool1::happytv:
Thanks, enjoy!
Same flight we take too. Amazing how we all live so close to each other.

Great report so far Tim!
It truly is a SMALL WORLD after all!!

Actually the words I had in mind, weren't for the love of God!! It was a bit more racy, but the DIS is a family friendly soooooo!! Thanks for reading!!

Day 2 Part 1
After a great night sleep (in separate beds) we woke very rested and ready to see what the day had in store for us. I stepped out on our deck and the weather had changed for the better, it was sunny and 82 degrees!!! It was December 12th and I would be wearing shorts, what a great feeling.

We got ready quickly and headed over to The Artist’s Palette for a quick breakfast.

Here is a pic of my on the go meal:

Since we had already been to Magic Kingdom and we knew that we were going to be at Hollywood Studios that night, EPCOT was a no brainer for us. We caught a bus at the Springs bus stop and were off to EPCOT.

I must mention that on this trip Bryan and I definitely had bus mojo going (yeahhhhhh baby yeahhhhh). Anytime we were heading to the park or back to the resort our bus was always there. I can think of only one time we really waited for a bus, it was AWESOME!!

When we arrived at EPCOT by at least 9:30 we started talking over our game plan. Bryan and I had already been to WDW twice in 2009 (yes, we realize we are SPOILED) and we had ridden everything a lot. So we decided that we would forgo Soarin’ and head over and go get a FP for Test Track. To our surprise the park was kind of empty, check this out:
103_5583640x480.jpg

We grabbed our Test Track FP and figured that we would try our luck in the single rider line. That was an awesome idea! Not only did we walk on the ride 3 times in a row, got to skip the ungodly pre-show, and was able to ride together every single time.

Here is a pic of Bryan and I taking pictures of each other taking pictures…..confused???
103_5584640x480.jpg

On our second ride through we got stuck in the corrosion chamber, so I snapped a few photos:
103_5586640x480.jpg

As a bonus, I also spotted two hidden Mickeys:

Me and Bryan….Test Track pimps:

When we finally emerged from our awesome run on Test Track and were heading over to Mission Space, check out how beautiful it was outside:
103_5598640x480.jpg

Let me first say that I have a weak stomach, any rides that require spinning or any crazy motion effects bring me to my knees. But, being that this was a once in a lifetime trip Bryan strong armed me and made me do “THE ORANGE TEAM”!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!

Proof of my bravery/stupidty:
103_5600640x480.jpg

During all the pre-show videos Bryan kept on harassing me and pointing out the warnings for people with motion sickness and he would show me “the wimp exit”. Here are a few pics while I was awaiting my fate.

103_5603640x480.jpg

So, I get in the ride and I’m focusing on looking straight ahead, we blast off and………nothing. It was definitely more intense and I felt slightly queasy afterwards, but I survived and lived to see another day.

We were going to go to the World Showcase to have lunch that afternoon but didn’t have any reservations so Bryan called his lovely and resourceful wife Diane and asked her to find us anything for lunch. SCORE, she got us a reservation for noon at Tuttio Italia.

On the way over to the World Showcase we stopped and saw Honey I Shrunk the Audience. During the pre show Bryan and I now realize why no one comes to this attraction, it is 10 minutes long and is the most cheesy over the top commercial for Kodak, seemed to last forever! The attraction was fun, just “o.k.” in my book.

Here are a couple of photo’s I snapped on our way over to lunch:

Here is Papa Noel in Canada:

Two pictures of the beautiful World Showcase Lagoon on a sunny day in Orlando:

We arrived at Tuttio Italia to check in and AGAIN like the night before their reservation system was down and they had no record of our reservation, but they were able to seat us. (this will work out in our favor later on so stay tuned).
Even Tuttio Italia had pretty Christmas decorations:

After we were seated I was hungry and ready to order, a pic of the menu for you:

I ended up getting a stuffed pork chop, it was AWESOME:

The inside of the restaurant:

Bryan and I had an awesome lunch, great service, it was pretty dead in the restaurant actually.

While we were looking over the desert menu Bryan informed me that there was NO other choice BUT the Canoli, so that is what I had and it did not disappoint:
103_5616640x480.jpg

So after SLOWLY feeding the canoli to one another (just kidding, wanted to see if you were paying attention ; ) we headed out of the restaurant.

I snapped a decorations picture because it was too dark the night before to take them:
103_5617640x480.jpg

Then we headed over to Mousegears to go Christmas shopping for our wives:
103_5619640x480.jpg

The store was PACKED, everything was expensive, but hey, it’s Disney and we like to spoil our wives ; )

We decided we were going to head back to the resort and chill before our big evening out for the Disapalooza event.

We took some more Christmas decoration photo’s before leaving:
103_5620640x480.jpg

103_5622640x480.jpg

Then we made our grand exit:
103_5623640x480.jpg

Again, bus was waiting for us (yeahhhhhh baby), took the bus back to SSR and went to the room to charge our phones, here are some pics from our balcony

103_5626640x480.jpg

We could see the Treehouse Villas which was pretty cool:
103_5625640x480.jpg

Before getting ready we decided to enjoy the beautiful day by the pool, drinking beers and relaxing, so we headed down to the Grandstand pool:

103_5627640x480.jpg

Rain was approaching, so you could see the clouds rolling in:
103_5628640x480.jpg

Our first round of “empties:
103_5629640x480.jpg

Then Bryan being the LUSH that he is, headed back up to get us refills:
103_5630640x480.jpg

Snapped a pic of Bryan and I sipping our fine brews :
103_5631640x480.jpg

103_5632640x480.jpg

So on the way back to our room to get ready Bryan and I walked by the golf course. Now, Bryan when he was in high school used to work on a golf course and maintained the course and he kept telling me how he loved his job back in the day. He commented on how nice the greens were here, and I said “why don’t you go check them out then”, there was a sign that said “stay off the greens” but Bryan decided to be a rebel, so here are some pics of Bryan seizing the moment and storming the greens and jumping up and down like a school boy : )

103_5634640x480.jpg

103_5635640x480.jpg

Wow, what a REBEL! We headed back to the room to shower (again, NOT together) and we got ready for a bigger night than either of us could EVER imagine…………… so much to come, it will be worth the wait!!

Awesome report, Tim! You are doing a fabulous job. But I'm dying to know what it was that you got Lesley for Christmas...Do tell!!!:)

You definitely are cracking me up with your "separate beds" comments :rotfl2: But.....does Lesley have anything to be worried about?.....:confused3 :lmao:

On the way over to the World Showcase we stopped and saw Honey I Shrunk the Audience. During the pre show Bryan and I now realize why no one comes to this attraction, it is 10 minutes long and is the most cheesy over the top commercial for Kodak, seemed to last forever! The attraction was fun, just “o.k.” in my book.

Just "o.k."??? This is a classic!! j/k it's fun the first time, I think....like back in 1997 :rotfl:

The stuffed porkchop looks so delicious!! This restaurant will definitely be on our ADR list this year. Great TR, btw - you and Bryan should do this more often :thumbsup2

It was December 12th and I would be wearing shorts, what a great feeling.
:cloud9: Sounds awesome, especially with the weather we are having now!!

Here is a pic of my on the go meal:
103_5582640x480.jpg
Oh yes, definitely an "I'm on vacation" kind of breakfast!

Bryan and I had already been to WDW twice in 2009 (yes, we realize we are SPOILED)
::yes::

As a bonus, I also spotted two hidden Mickeys:
I've never seen those! Thanks!

But, being that this was a once in a lifetime trip Bryan strong armed me and made me do “THE ORANGE TEAM”!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!
Way to man-up for the testosterone!

SCORE, she got us a reservation for noon at Tuttio Italia.
Gotta love those Disney wives... we rock!
On the way over to the World Showcase we stopped and saw Honey I Shrunk the Audience.
Oh my... I'm sorry you wasted those 20 minutes of your life. Did you ask for them back when you were done?

We arrived at Tuttio Italia to check in and AGAIN like the night before their reservation system was down and they had no record of our reservation, but they were able to seat us.
What is that about?! You guys had no luck!

I ended up getting a stuffed pork chop, it was AWESOME:
