Tim and Lesley Year of Million Compromises/TONS pics- 8/5 help me pg. 164!!!

Great update Lesley!
Sounds like you all had a great time visiting Tim's brother and his family. And what luck to find the matching tiki shirts for your kids! You all are going to look sooooo cute!:goodvibes

Hey Lesley!

Poor Luke sick again!:sad2: BUT on the bright side that was a trip so hopefully it's out of his system and you'll be all set for Disney! Your niece is adorable! :thumbsup2 on finding the matching t-shirts. 16 days incredible! I am going to be dying for your TR to start! Funny yours will start and I am dreading ending mine:confused3 Oh well! Have a great day!

Lesley, Have your read the TR's of the families who
won the night in the castle?? What a wonderful, magical
experience. I got chills reading them. The pictures of
the suite are breathtaking. You never know, it could
happen to you!!!pixiedust:

Hi Lesley!

I can't believe you leave for Disney in less than 3 weeks! Actually almost 2 weeks! Yeh!!!
Congratulations on finding such great deals at The Disney Store! I make it a weekly trip to go there to check out the discounts! My dh thinks I am nuts! :lmao:
Actually we went over the weekend and picked a few more things up!
I wish they had those polos for $2! I would have jumped all over that!

Anyway, I LOVE reading your pre-trip report and am looking forward to your TR! Good luck on your packing!

We did have fun. So did you find anything????
Lesley

Thanks for asking about us!

We found a few that we liked over in the West Chester area, nothing that we would feel like we really missed out on if they were taken before we get down there. We are moving to some temporary housing either in Blue Ash or Mason on the 9th and we will start seriously house hunting then. Right now, I am finding the whole search very daunting! I think I might just climb in your luggage and move to Disney instead!

Lesley - Aren't you more of a tank top girl?;) Because, I am definitely more of a polo girl (grew up in the preppy 80's period) and I think you just need to send that polo to me! :rotfl: It is soooo cute!

I spent my lunch hour getting our itineraries done for our Animal Kingdom day, MGM days and Magic Kingdom days. tomorrow I need to finish up and get Epcot done. i have them on note cards and will laminate them for the parks. I think I got everything in I want to see, shows included, can't wait. Anyone know where the Monsters Inc. Laugh factory is and if they FP it? Also, are they FP ing Indiana Jones anymore?
Lesley

It is across from Stitch...but I am not sure if they have FP...but I bet they do...or will soon, cause I heard it was really good!

Great idea to get your itenerary ready for the trip... You are well into your teens! Yea:cool1: .
p.s. I loved the mini trip report. Sorry Luke had the tummy flu.:headache:

Lesley, Monsters wasn't a fastpass attraction when we were there at the end of April. It is directly across from Stitch as you enter tomorrowland from the central hub, it is on the right hand side before Buzz. Just a hint but try and sit in a seat that has lamps in front of it and you'll be glad you did! TGM didn't have it on his plans yet when we went but we just did it last before leaving tomorrowland!:thumbsup2

Thanks, I need to finalize things today during lunch : ) Glad you enjoyed the mini trip report, oh yes, the stomach flu's stink! But they are even worse when you are IN Disney, so I'll count myself lucky.

I'm so excited for you!! I can't believe you're almost there, im so jealous!!
I know, I'm so excited I could jump out of my skin, we are sooo close!:yay: :cheer2: :dance3:

I can't post ALL the details of my day to day planning due to Tour Guide Mike confidentiality but I do need your help with one item.
For Animal Kingdom we have an 8:00 breakfast reservation and after on my plan I had Tim running to get EE passes and then I wanted to ride it before we went to the Lion King Show at 10:40 (need to be in line by like 10:15) I am hearing the first return time wouldn't be until like 10:00 which would put a big crunch into it. What are your thoughts on ALL of us heading over to EE and Tim and luke riding in the standby line and getting a parent swap pass for me then we could definitely get the ride done by 10:00, do you think?? How long is that standby line right at opening? We should beat a lot of the crowds since breakfast should be over by 9:00 when the park opens, what are your thoughts????
Lesley

I was wondering, too. We were there during the off season - and before EE - there wasn't really any rush for anything. I sort of had the same plan - Breakfastsaurus - thought we would get a fast past for EE and be early in line for Safari. Now I see that it is morning EMH that day - so everyone will be getting there and getting in line while we are eating! :scared1:

You can always go ahead and get FP and just use them later. You can use them past the return time. The standby line is also a good idea. It shouldn't be that busy that early in the morning.

Thanks, I decided we would all head to EE after breakfast and have Tim and Luke ride and I would get a parent swap - then Lauren and I will go get Kali FP's while they are riding and then I would come back and ride with Luke.

That is exactly what I was going to say.:) :thumbsup2
Thanks! :goodvibes

O.K., so the countdown is at 15 days (but who is counting :rotfl2: )

I have been a busy girl today. Of course I had work but during my lunch I posted here on the Dis and on Tour Guide Mike about touring plans for parks, cookie demonstrations at Epcot and sending water to the resort via/ Costco. I got wonderful answers as usual so then during I finalized my itinerary and put each day on a notecard. I know I know, Lesley is a total Disney dork, but I feel it is so much easier to go into each park each day with a plan. Each trip we compile a list of what we REALLY want to see this trip and then I go and get organized and put it on cards. No one in the family really see's the organization we just kind of get to the park and I look at my card and say "o.k, we need to head here and grab a FP, let's go ride this, etc." the kids just are happy they get to see everything they wanted to see and we always get it all done in the mornings in time for the afternoon break.
So now all of our days (I only do this for our mornings, evenings are basically meals, a ride or two and a parade, fireworks, or Fantasmic) are on cards. Here they are people (just to prove that I am insane enough to do this):
Photo1-4.jpg

What you can't see is the back of each card has Tour Guide Mike's best view locations for each parade, show, etc. I know, I know, too organized, but it helps us so much! I feel really good about the plans and am sooo excited.
It is SUPER hot here in Ohio right now, low 90's and tons of humidity so I feel like I'm ready for the Orlando heat. We hit the pool today after I got off work to cool off.
Tim went to the bank today and got our final Disney money, so we now have all of our Disney spending money in cash or in Travelers Checks ALL READY TO GO (that feels good). I just unpacked our suitcases tonight from our West Virginia trip and have a huge laundry pile to tackle so I can start putting clothes into luggage for Disney.
I plan on shipping 2 cases of water from Costco next week (they told me to do it 7 days before we arrive) too. I still have lots of shopping to do so I'll update that when the time comes.
I still call Disney dining EVERY day to see if a Fantasmic package has opened up for the 21st, still no luck, hopefully someone will cancel soon, if not, oh well.
15 days, I can't believe it!!!!! :cheer2:  I am SOOOOO excited. I can't wait to get off of that plane and step into that bus to our resort, can't wait to see POFQ for the first time, then get on the bus to MGM!!!! So much to look forward too!!!!!

Lesley, I love reading about your planning. I just had to giggle a bit when I saw your note cards. I do the very same thing, but I never thought to laminate them. I guess once their laminated its a set plan. LOL I cant wait to hear from you when you return.

Lesley - thanks for posting the new TSA rules. We went last August about a week after they started the no liquids thing. I am just going to avoid the whole thing and bring normal sized bottles but put them in my luggage. I figure 5 people for a week would go thru a lot of shampoo and soap. I would end up bringing three or four little travel bottles...lol....I will just scrap that plan. ;) Did you see the Stalking thread where DM put everyone schedule up day by day??? That way you can see who is where which day! I dont think our schedules overlapped however :guilty: but here's to a great :cheer2: trip for you and your family!!!! :thumbsup2
