This might have already been posted but I just found it on the "just for fun" board and thought I needed to share for everyone here. This was shot on Oct. 1st at WDW Magic Kingdom.
It may be possible to do this easily and really well with Photoshop's depth of field merge, by reversing the masks to use only the out of focus areas of all layers except the main subject. Something new to try!
The Tilt Shift effect really is good at making things look fake, and it can even be used with low quality equipment and shots (this was taken with an old digital camera (something like a 1.8 Mega Pixel)
You don't have to have a good editing program to do it either (although I'm sure it would make it easier). I did this with a program called Photo Explosion. It doesn't have a Tilt Effect option, but I was able to do it simply by choosing a part of the shot, and blurring the rest.
Disney posted an interesting video on YouTube utilizing tilt shift technique with video of a variety of subjects, parking lots, parks, parades, etc. Looks to be shot from a crane.
That was fun to watch! The shots from a high position seemed to work best. This gets me inspired to head to the State fair this weekend and try to produce a few tilt shifts.
I guess this was posted a couple of times already but it is a cool video. He is supposedly shooting Epcot right now and will include Illuminations (fireworks).
I've seen this on a commercial on the web. It was more cartoonish, but I really liked it. Is there such an animal for video editing? Can you buy it as add-on?
