Yippee!!!! It's back! I just saw Tikiman's Polynesian Resort Pages back up online!

I love the new navigation, Steve. The entire site is so greatly improved, which is a remarkable thing in itself.

The best Polynesian Resort website on the web just got better!

The photos of the new rooms and GCH improvements are back online, too! Take a look on page 6 and prepare to be amazed at the results!

I love the new site. When I start planning my 2006 trip (still trying to decided on May, Dec or a week each of the two months) at the Polynesian I will be using the heck out of Tikiman's site.

YAY!! Thank you for the site Tikiman!! Takes me back to my trip last year. Sigh, May 2006 seems so far away.

THANKS TIKIMAN!!! I love to stay at the WL, but we are at the Poly for lots of meals, and the lounge -- we are even thinking of staying there in 2007 (have a trip planned already in 2006 ;) ) Thanks again for putting up this site again, it reminds me of home.

shhh, only tell your friends, I dont want anything crashing the site, purely selfish on my part I'm sure!! :teeth:

Aloha Steve, and Mahalo!!

:wizard:

Just went to the site. So very very happy :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I love the website. Thanks so much for putting it back up. I have a question for Tikiman though. Do you know what rooms at the Tokelau building have trees directly blocking their views? I know it's a pretty broad question, but any detail on good views would be much appreciated. Thanks! :earsboy:

YIPPIE!!!! :sunny: :sunny: :cool1:

And everyone can check out my cute boys on page 6!!! :earsboy: :earsboy:

Yay! :cool1: I love it! So happy! Now... if I can just find the money to stay there.... ;) I'm already sold. :goodvibes

Thank you, thank you, thank you Steve.

Thanks Steve for the wealth of information you provide on the Polynesian!! I used your site to plan my 1st trip to the Poly and we had a wonderful time! Looking forward to our next stay!!

Thanks everyone. Good to see there are still people interested in the web pages. Well I not only worked on changing a few things (until 1:00 AM last night) but I am going to be offering some new things. There has been a lot of interest in T-shirts so I will be working on that and I think we decided that “Make a Wish Foundation” might be a good place to send some of the profits and the rest to maybe increase the bandwidth. Well this is getting off topic so I just want to say come and visit the site and see the new pictures and info and I should be getting many more new photos in the next few months.

Also there is a new “Friends of the Polynesian” page that I will start putting photos of families that send me their photos from the Polynesian. I had a few (and still have more somewhere) that I needed a good place to put them.

Thanks to all who have added to and supported the web pages. I will be poking my head in here every once in a while to see what is going on and say Aloha.

Thanks Steve your site looks better than ever! I'm hoping for a Poly stay in January 2006 :)

Aloha MagEpcDisAni Voyager.

Well it is difficult to judge what one person consideres a blocked view. I consider a blocked view to be a tree or bushes blocking more than 80% of your view within 10 feet of your room. Others may consider a blocked view to be a tree anywhere within 200 feet blocking 20% of the view. With that said I only remember a handful of rooms in Tokelau that have trees near the room. Below is a photo showing some of them.

I also though I remember reading a report that someone was very disappointed in one of the second floor corner rooms closest to the lagoon (one of the best areas to get a room in my opinion) and they said they could see nothing but a tree. Well I know that room exactly and I would have felt differently about the room and that the view was not blocked that much. It does block some of the lagoon but than again all those rooms are Garden view rooms so I guess I would not be surprised to see a tree or two and I would hate to see the Polynesian will all the trees removed to give everyone a clear view. Now I do agree than if you pay for a lagoon view room you should be able to see the lagoon from a minimum of 50% of your view but again I am not in charge.

I will say that I figured myself that about 15% of all rooms would be what I called a blocked view and recently another group was at the Polynesian to determine how many blocked views there were (for the Unofficial Guide) and they came up with a 20% but not all agreed with that. So it is very open to interpretation. That is why I can not give a good list of blocked views. The other reason I cannot give that list is because it would be misused and people would get the impression they can pick out what room they want by sending in or calling in a request and it unfortunately does not work that way. I think it is important to have an idea of where you would like to stay and maybe see what is available when you check in (without driving the CM crazy).

So maybe I did not give you the list you wanted but again if you try for Tokelau I believe that the odds are in your favor of getting a good room.

Aloha

Steve
