Tight 1 BR Availability 9/20-9/25

First off we just booked our first DVC vacation

Second, we bought resale and had 201 points that needed to be used by the end of THIS month...but...they did a one-time-only exception and let us bank them into our 2011 UY

Now to the important stuff...the only availability they had for this week for 1 bedrooms was at OKW and SSR...kind of crazy. I checked the availability thread and it looked like there was stuff available but I guess not. Oh well...we're just glad to be going.

As you found out the availability board is strictly based on people who read the Disboards posting the dates they can't get a room. So the accuracy isn't there.

At least you were able to get a villa despite the late booking. Enjoy your first trip as a DVC member.

Congrats on your purchase. Where did you decide to stay? Both OKW and SSR are great. I booked a short trip in September for just DH and myself a month ago. I picked OKW because the points are so low and we are borrowing. 36 points for 3 nights - I'll take it for time away from the kids.

That board is really better for seeing what might not be available rather than what is available. OKW and SSR are two of our favorite places.

Cheapest season of the year and you're trying to book only 2 months out. I don't find it crazy at all that only the two largest resorts would have availability. Early bird gets the worm.
