Tiggerific04's Planning Journal (WP/Gardenview Lounge/Chef Mickey's) *UPDATE 8/6

I love your Pj ....I love the pink jewelery....what a great find

your dress is gorgeous & i like the hair styles that are all up

I cant even decide which ring I like best, cause I love them all

Chef mickeys sounds fun...i might check that out

sounds like things are really coming along!!:thumbsup2

I think we are going for the choice they give...with the yellow cake and chocolate mousse...and now that you mention a second layer of different cake and fillings...I may do that(my step mother doesnt eat chocolate so maybe have something she couold eat).

Did I mention that your Ering is almost like mine? :) I have a saphire in the middle an diamonds on either side. For the wedding ring, I will have two, one is a row of saphires then rows of tiny diamonds on either side, then I will have one I can wear always---we are thinking of titanium....very sturdy.

everything looks so cute! i especially love the flip flops, what i did when i got married was where my "dressy" shoes for the ceremony and then right after i switched to white flip flops that were similar to your second choice, im glad i did too, cause my feet would have been killing me if i didnt!

Thanks so much! I, of course, love the ring that's most expensive LOL

I might be wrong, but I think the ring DF picked out is titanium on the outside bands, and platinum on the inside one.

I'm so upset because the flip flops I really wanted are sold out on the website and I can't find them in any of the stores. I think I've decided on these ones instead.

DF and I finally decided on a cake:

The flowers will be pink to match everything.

Other than that I've been slacking off on wedding stuff. Work has been really sucky lately and it's been draining all of my energy :sad1:

I think thats my photo from Randy  :yay: It was a good cake!!:woohoo:

Hi,

I was looking through your planning journal thread and everything looks beautiful. :lovestruc I really love all the dresses and your jewellery!

You mentioned being able to send pictures of the different intimate cakes to someone, and I was wondering if you'd mind mailing them to me as well?

If you can't, no problem. But if so, my email is mathie.girl and it ends with "@gmail.com" - I'd really appreciate it!!

Thanks!

Maggie,I may have told you this before, I love your cake and that is exactly what I want.

We are having a custom though, about 50 people,so I guess they could make it a little bigger.

Maggie,
was your cake buttercream frosting?

I've read the warnings on here from other brides. I've read articles all over the internet. Even my own common sense told me, "Once you've bought your dress, STOP looking at other gowns!"

And what did I do? I was looking for flower girl dresses on davidsbridal.com and I thought there wouldn't be any harm in seeing if there were any new dresses. And then I saw this.

I started looking at dresses before I was even engaged, and I fell in love with the dress I ended up buying. I loved the big poofy skirt, and I liked that the bodice was cuffed at the top: I am lacking in the chest department and felt like all the other strapless tops really emphasized that :rotfl:

However, I've seen soooo many other girls with "my" dress that it doesn't really feel special anymore. There's a girl in Randy Chapman's portfolio in that dress, I've seen it for sale on eBay by at least 3 different girls, and I've seen it on other wedding planning sites. Even when I was trying it on in the store, a woman came up to me and told me how beautiful it was... her daughter-in-law wore it 2 years ago. At the time it didn't faze me, but now it kind of does. I know that's the risk I run buying from David's Bridal, and there's a chance the same thing could happen with this new dress as well.

I showed it to DF and his first reaction was that it looked too "old" and the shrug reminded him of a doily (sp?). After awhile of looking at it, though, he admitted that he really could see me wearing it and he was just trying to hate it so that I wouldn't have to make a choice :lmao: He suggested that we go to DB tomorrow and try it on to see if there's even any reason to consider it -- I could end up hating it once I see it in person.

At first, I hated the pick-up skirts that are popular now, but they're really starting to grow on me. This one especially doesn't seem as dramatic as others that I've seen, and I love the little shrug (even though I know I would probably be dying in the August heat).

The money worries me because we're on a budget. My original dress was $499 on sale and this one is $699. Supposedly there's some kind of sale going on at DB this month, so it would probably be $649. I would, of course, try to sell the original dress, but I would still be waaaaaay over my $600 dress budget. DF said not to worry about it -- it's a once in a lifetime expense and I should have the dress I really want and feel most comfortable with.

I would have to buy all new accessories as I don't think the current pink ones really go with this style dress. Or maybe they would if I got the pink sash? And I don't think a veil would look right either, so I would have to sell that as well.

Help?

I love that dress. I would go try it on and see how you feel in it.If you love it,sell your other one and buy that one. I love it and think you will look great in it.

I say try it on and see what you think. If you really like it, I would go ahead and get it. It would be horrible to look back at your wedding 20 years later and think that you didn't like your dress and how you wish you had gotten this dress. Good luck!

No problem! I'll send the pics as soon as I get home tonight :wizard:

I meant to tell you thanks so much! (I've been really busy this week and haven't been online at all!). It was great to get to see the various options within the intimate package.

The new dress is beautiful too. I think you really have to make sure you love your dress - I would imagine these photos are going to be some of the most important ones you'll have of yourself and you want to look back and love them. Besides, it's not like you spent $2000 on both.

Good luck with your decision!

I'm hoping that the same thing doesn't happen to me. You can't avoid looking at other gowns really - they are every where!

As for the dress that has you wondering, it is actually the dress that caught my eye at DB too! I think it is gorgeous and it is really similar to the one I ended up getting! My DF said the same thing about the shrug:lmao:
I think that if you like it, it is worth trying on. As you said, you may not like it on you. But as your DF said, its once in a life time. In my book, its okay to go a bit over budget!

Thanks, girls. I'm going to go to DB after work today and try it on. Here's hoping I don't see anything else I like while I'm there! :rotfl2:

Maggie,
was your cake buttercream frosting?

Im so sorry its taken me so long to respond!

I had marble cake with strawberry filling. It was the standard intimate cake. I didnt ask for any extras or anything. Im just so pleased in the way it all came out. I do believe that it was Buttercream frosting (I dont think Disney uses fondant)-- and it tasted delicious! (DH and I cant wait for our 1 year to roll around so we can pull the top out of the freezer!!).

I saw that dress on the Davids bridal website the other day and loved it! It reminds me a lot of Moonpie's dress and she looked awesome for her wedding day.

Being a second dress bride myself, I say go for the new one! It isn't that much more then your other one and your DF has already agreed that you should get it if it makes you happy. Even though they may not understand it, most of us on this board seem to have very understanding guys when it comes to us girls changing our minds about dresses.

As for stopping looking after you find a dress, I don't think you need to. If you've found the right one, it won't matter. I was looking at the Disney wedding dresses yesterday and my fiance got all worried and asked what I was doing. I said "don't worry, I'm not going to find another dress I like better" and it is true, I haven't found anything I have liked better since I bought my second dress.
