Tiggerdad's Pretrip Report: November 14th-23rd

Hi Tiggerdad, I've been lurking around your pre TR. Just had to come on to say what a nice job you did with this lamp and nice pictures too. Will continue to peek in and keep up with you through pre and TR. I am sure others are out there secretly watching too. popcorn::

Let me rephrase:

Dear Mr. Tiggerdad, I LOVE you you decorated your can.

I didn't want you to feel disrespected or left out.

Mr Tiggerdad?

Bwahahahaha :rotfl2:

Thanks Tina

I agree with ya Tiggerdad, getting the camper cleaned up loaded up its the worst part. I gotta wax our fifthwheel before we go. The old 5ver was 28 ft and took 3 days to wax, the new 5ver is 43 ft long I'll be week waxing!!

"Mr. Tiggerdad"...
Kinda rolls off the tongue don't it?

Mr. Tiggerdad...

Mr. TD...

Yeah, I like the sound of that...

5er,

Mine is only 35 feet long, so you got me beat. Aluminum siding, so really hard to wax. Everybody arriving and posting trip reports has got me jumpy, so I went ahead and pulled the cover and opened it up to air out today.

Stripped the beds and brought in the utensils to wash all of them. I'll take the gas bottles tomorrow and get them filled up.

Anybody got any input on the black streaks when dealing with aluminum on a camper? I've tried Purple Power and that stuff from Wal Mart, but no good. I think the only way to get the results I'm really looking for is to attack this thing with a buffer, but like 5er said it will take a full week to do it.

Mr TD,

I use that black streak remover. They have it at Walmart's or any camper store. Its works good on fiberglass. I was cleaning the walls last time I was home and came across two brown recluse in the camper. Ha went straight to the dollar store and loaded up on bug spray, then tipped my pest control guy $20 to spray in and out the trailer. He said he'd spray it every month now for nothin.' its good to have a bug guy that is a big Alabama fan too!!

Yea I'm jumpy too and I gotta wait til February. One of my favorite parts is when you check in they tell you "Welcome home".

Thanks 5er and Denise. I'll give it a shot. Maybe combining the two will help.

I second the Black streak remover - have used it for years and it works great. We got it at Walmart...

Try Clorox Cleanup, Mr. Tiggerdad. I sprayed it on my mailbox. It rained. My white mailbox is spotless.

Thanks, I do have a tree skirt for it as well, but since we arrive after New years this year like last year, I won't do christmas decorations. For me they go up Thanksgiving and taken down after new years.

Thanks for the streak removal suggestions. I picked up some more black streak remover and some magic erasers today. I'll start on it this week.

Now, another suggestion is needed. I need a campground name in Florida to give my kids as a fake destination. My oldest knows how to Google so I need a campground name that is on the beach and somewhere around Destin? Maybe a little more east of there?

This is easy.

Grayton Beach State Park, Camping on the Gulf or Topsail Hill. All are east of Destin. Farthest east is Grayton.

We use mold armour to clean our house siding. We get it in the paint section of Home Depot. It is not with the other cleaners. It works so well even before you scrub. Green bottle. It comes in various strengths.

Camping on the Gulf it is, thanks guys.

my3princes, never heard of that one. I don't have a Home Depot here in Meridian, but I wonder if Lowe's might have it. I'll sure keep it on my list as a backup plan.

Got one of my propane bottles filled up today. The other bottle is still half full, so I should have no need to refill while on vacation. One problem though, while I was hooking up the newly filled bottle I started hearing a hissing sound and could smell gas. Sprayed some soap water around the fittings and noticed that I have a gas leak at one of the fittings where it is crimped together at the bottle connect. Absolute shame, as I just through away a hose just like it that came with my grill.:furious:

Well, I'll have to go into work early today to slip by the local RV supply store and pick another one up. Better to find it now than while on vacation.

The good thing is if you run out at Disney, you can get them refilled. Last January I had a breakdown on the road, spent 2 days in NC in 9F weather and when the truck was fixed I hauled butt down to FL.

3 days later I was nearly out of propane due to use up north, took them to the trading post and they got me one bottle back same day for no additional charge and the second bottle the next day which was fine for me.

sucks about the lines, but other then annoyance and minor expense to replace not a huge issue.

Man, I been off the board a few days getting some bushhogging done on my farm before I leave. We got some good trip reports going on right now. Gets me jumpy. Tomorrow is 7 days out, so time to get focused.

Got the gasline replaced and all is good. I'll start cleaning the camper up and go through my storage compartments.
