Tiggerdad's chasing squirrels at the Fort! Nov. 14-23

The Fort is starting to look great with all the decorations. Looks like you have been busy walking around everywhere, like I was. Oh, wait, you have a cart. All is good anyway, keep up the good work.

Ha Ha! I got a cart that is gas powered and might as well have a set of glass packs on it. This sucker is an attention getter by sound alone. I am so impressed by it, but my wife is sliding down in the seat. You noticed the speed limit signs with the sign below showing your speed? I absolutely embarrassed the mess out of her when I kept making runs at the sign, standing up yelling "Hia Mule!" and making a whipping like motion. Other people on bikes and sidewalks were laughing, so I felt like I did my part to give everybody an entertaining show.

Here is a pic of my best speed...

Cool that you are there when the decorations went up Tiggerdad. The one time i camped at the Fort for Thanksgiving week the Christmas tree outside of Trails End in the little circle off the corner of the porch went up the evening of Tgiving. It wasn't there on Thursday night but it was there Friday morning.

Bama Ed

That sounds like something I would of done, I'm always embarrassing the wife. Cant believe they did away with the rockin chairs! How cold is it down there tonight? Got a hard freeze warning on the gulf coast tonight. I am enjoying reading along.

Tiggerdad,
Interesting pix of RC....I didn't think anyone was allowed back there.
Oh wait...
did you strap a camera onto a squirrel to get the photos?

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm not really an icon type of person but your updates have me and my husband rolling.

I agree with those bar stools. WTH.

We too test our golf cart speed on that bridge. 15 is the max right after a fresh charge. You know if you take your cart into a golf cart shop they can turn it up for you. From what we have been told it takes a special key and a few twists and there ya have it....Super Speed.

Hold on a second! I might be funny, but I aint that stupid. I would rather try and sandpaper a bobcat's rearend than try and strap something to a squirrel.

Seriously...have you seen those teeth?

No, seriously I had the squirrels chew through the locks on the gates...it was quick and terrifying all at the same time. Security showed up...so did the squirrels...a rhythm of low barking started...security backed up and left...and thus, your pictures.

Amazing what a container of peanuts and a bag of cashews can get you when you speak squirrel.

Well, it was a good evening. I used My Disney Experience to my advantage and around 4:30 booked us a table up at Trail's End for dinner around 7:30. When we got there it was a good crowd of folks trying to get walk ups. It was nice to be able to go right on in.

On a side note, booking this dinner did cause me to have to cut short a good conversation with a fellow diser, Ken, aka pluto67 who is staying over on the 500 loop not far from me. Ken, it was good to meet you sir and shake your hand. I promise I will get by your site now that I know which one is yours, and pay you a longer visit before you head out on Friday.

Ed, it was weird because when I went to bed last night there were no decorations or lights anywhere on property. This morning I noticed (when leaving before daylight to go eat breakfast with the Mouse) that there were decorations and lights on all the bus locations. When we came back in, the front sign (I promise I'll get you a non-blurred pic of it) was decorated and workers were on ladders all over the place. I'll keep up with it and update some pics as they decorate. I'll also watch the spot you indicated for the Christmas tree as well.

While I was out taking these pics I ran out of battery power in the camera, so I stopped by the Meadows to get some more...and then I looked over the counter and everything was like a dream...it's like I could hear the clerk saying "Sir...sir! Are you sure all you need is batteries? Sir? Sir!? I was just overcome with some...amazing vision...

We are under a wind chill advisory for the evening (The above picture looking better by the minute). Expected temps of 37 tonight, then 63 for a high tomorrow. We are going to EPCOT, so if the sun is out we should be fine. I left the inflatables down for a good bit of today because of the wind.

Now I present, the fireworks from the beach...

very nice pics, hope you stayed warm. Was single digits here in NEPA last night. Looking forward to milder weather on our trip down in March. 102 days left but who's counting.

That is not 100% accurate. It really depends on the cart and type of speed controller it has for the electric carts. Some are just a key turn, others require a jumper and some cannot be changed at all without swapping out to an aftermarket programmable controller.

The gas 4 stroke motors are not that loud unless the exhaust has a hole in it, but the 2 stroke carts are stupid loud in comparison to the 4 stroke, and none of them are as quiet as the electrics.

Favor to ask- if it warms up at all and you guys head to the pool, can you please take a picture of the pool bar drinks menu and post it? But if you don't make it over there I understand!

Tiggerdad, hope your staying warm. We did the DTD thing twice, I can't wait until all the construction is done. Did you stop into SOSA cigars? Little expensive but very enjoyable. Keep up the good work.

So enjoying your TR. Thanks for taking the time to do this for those of us who are not there yet. The fireworks on the beach brought back really nice memories and your pics are great. Will keep watching and smiling.

Yikes! To think my dh, dd, & ds once slid down those water slides at RC. Just gives me a very hollow feeling to see it now and imagine what we once enjoyed so much!

Keep tuned in. I'll get that pic for you tomorrow or the next day.

Well I guess I don't know about every other cart but ours just needed a small turn key adjustment.

Well, today was a day of park hopping:worried:

I despise park hopping...you lose too much time between parks, but I have to do it because when the kids don't like EPCOT as much as the adults, eventually there is only so much complaining I can take. Since there are too many witnesses around, I have no choice but to cave and move to another park. So we jumped from EPCOT to MK for the evening.

If you guys have noticed, I haven't posted much on parks or things outside the campground. I like to keep you guys going on the campground as it is our central liking. I'll post on the days in the parks after I get home and have more time. Oh, and this cable modem garbage is horribly slow. Make you wanna slit your wrist with an electric razor...

However...

and you know I can't go a day without it...

There's gotta be a squirrel! EPCOT squirrels are probably the closest thing to Fort Squirrels. They are very sneaky and smart. This first pic is of a squirrel I saw in the bushes while sitting down for lunch. He sat on that spot for 5 minutes. A lady pulled up and parked her scooter right next to him. After she left, he gave a flick of the tail and jumped onto the cart, grabbed something out of a bag, and ran back into the bushes before I could get another picture. I swear! I have my wife and CM who happened to be talking to us at the time as a witness. She said they populate that area around Norway where the strollers are parked and they rummage through them looking for snacks. Anyway, here he is just about the time the Mission Impossible music started playing...

On our arrival back to the Fort we ran across some deer

Oh yeah, great news!
It wasn't there this morning when we left out, but when we came back tonight, right where Ed said it would be, was this:

I'll do my best to get you guys some daytime pics of it when I can.

Tomorrow is our Seaworld day since Tuesday was messed up by the weather. I'm hoping to make it back around a decent hour and make the movie and sing along.

Oh, and the golfcart that I rented is a 2 stroke. I thought it was the muffler, but it's just a two stroker. Now I remember why my personal cart at home is electric. I just gotta get a longer wheelbase truck to bring it.

On a second note, I got up this morning and noticed my fridge was only semi cool instead of cold like it usually is. Strange, I moved my important stuff to the outside fridge just in case and reset the one inside the camper. When I came back this evening it was back cold again. Anybody got a suggestion? First time I have had this to happen. It was set on electric, not gas. However the bottle that I was using did run out sometime early this morning, but I swapped over to the second bottle. Only thing that I can think of.

More to come...

Does your fridge have the little sensor for the thermostat inside along the back wall? I know if you move it it will change the inside temp, Maybe something bumped it? If it wasn't your gas running out that might would be what happen? Hopefully it was just a hiccup, and wont give you anymore trouble.
