I am super excited about the opening of Tiffins and am heading to Disney in June. When Disney opens a new restaurant, does anyone know when they start accepting ADRs? Is it the day they open? Or do they open ADRs ahead of time? I don't want to miss out!

Or, do you think Disney will do a "no ADR" trial with only same day reservation like at Skippers Canteen?

Anyone have more info about Tiffin's? Menu items, prices, etc...would love to learn more!

What do you mean "upset about" it? Be gentle with me, back to the dis boards after a long absence and not even sure what the deal with SC is in the first place.
It has WEIRD THINGS. That aren't chicken nuggets! OMG what is "zhough and peppadew puree!" This is an outrage!!!!

...basically, where hype over something new freaks out because it has a unique menu.

has it gotten bad reviews or it is just too far from ethnic food people are comfortable with (italian and the like)? the kid's menu is a little tough is the only thing but I am a bit of a foodie so that preview sounds awesome to me :)

We will be there late June/early July and hoping Tiffins will be open as well! I think the sample items look intriguing, but am looking forward to seeing the entire menu.

the big killer for me will be kid menu. There isn't another signature on property that doesn't have at least 1-2 things my kid would eat on it so hoping for that. Even Jiko has basic mac and cheese.

The reviews I've read have been mixed, though more leaning towards the positive. There are also a lot of complaints about the price, though it compares pretty equally to Be Our Guest.
I do agree about the kids menu. My kids were never picky eaters, but I think something simple on the menu to go along with the more interesting things would be a good idea and all the other restaurants do have that.

Back on topic, I am excited to hear about Tiffins. We don't usually do a sit down at AK; we always eat dinner after leaving the park. On our last couple trips it was our Hoop Dee Doo night. But, now that they are giving us a reason to stick around until dark, we may have to rethink things. :-)

Ok, I"m going to get flamed; I'm ready for it. But it seems like almost every restaurant thread lately ends up talking about "picky," "fussy," "choosy, "selective," or whatever one wants to call it type of eater. I'm not attacking these type of eaters, the kids or their parents, just making a personal observation.

I am really looking forward to Tiffins when it opens.

Well my kid is picky but I love ethnic food... in fact, the things I am picky about are basic american foods... I don't really care for burgers or apple pie and I never drink soda, I find cola utterly disgusting and would rather dehydrate than drink it. I have never in my life had more than a bite of peanut butter and jelly, bleck, and I don't like white bread. But I would loves to try me some Black-eyed pea fritters with roasted sweet peppers, yogurt, zhough and peppadew puree. The problem is... my kiddo not so much (though honestly he doesn't drink soda or burgers or apple pie either, but I digress ;) ). Any of the other signature places we can go to and it would be no problem. We had a great time at CA Grill, it was the highlight meal of our last trip. I was able to enjoy something more interesting and gourmet and he was able to enjoy his pizza made with no sauce and rice krispie treat sushi. That is what is so amazing about disney... when I can go to a restaurant like that for me and my kiddo can have an equally magical time. So just saying... I hope Tiffin follows suit. I am very much looking forward to the interesting cuisine but since I travel solo with my kiddo, if there is nothing for him, it is a no-go for me. I am doing deluxe DP with hopes of trying a few signatures and this being one of them so we'll see! if not there is still CA grill. But have really high hopes for Tiffin. Disney has done really well by their AK/AKL restaurants I think so far with Tusker House, Boma, Jiko, Sanaa, Yak n Yeti. Really hoping they follow the trend here. You know there will be some kind of filet dish because there isn't a signature that doesn't serve filet.

In a post a while back there was mention of it having "the longest bar". Am I remembering this correctly or was I dreaming?

I hope you are remembering correctly! sounds like a great place to try some of the signature AK grownup drinks... and maybe some additional creations.
