Tiffany Town Car Question

Any recent users of Tiffany? I have made arrangements with Tiffany to pick up my family after our cruise on the Magic this April. We set a pick up time but I was instructed to call the toll free number when we hit the luggage area and the person who answers the toll free number will have the driver pull around. Is this the usual procedure? How long does it take for them to pull around? We have no time to spare and need to get to the airport. Any information you can share would be appreciated!

Not sure what to tell you. Part of the towncar experience is having the driver meet you at the bottom of the stairs/escalator, and help with your bags. I have never had to call a company to tell them I was in the baggage area. I have, with one exception, always been met there, helped out with my bags, and then either taken to the lot where the car was, or asked to wait for the driver to get the car.
These companies are supposed to track flights so that they know when their customers are in....then they are supposed to head to baggage claim and await the guests arrival.

But who knows...perhaps the policy has changed recently.

:) We use Tiffany Towncar every single time we fly. We have never used another comapny. The drivers have always met us in baggage claim, greeted us and escorted us to their vehicle. Several years ago we would walk out near where all the ground transportation was to the car. Now the car is parked on the same level as baggage claim under the terminal carport.

I have never had to call a number and ask them to pull around. I do know that President Obama will be in town Thursday or Friday. There could also be a change at the airport, construction or something where they usually park the car. I have had the same drivers for the last 2 years and usually talk to the same man on the phone when I call to reserve the car. So I guess I am saying I do not know why they have this new "procedure". I would just call back and ask just for clarification.

We will be using them in May if we fly and for sure in Oct.

:) We last used them in Oct/Nov 2011. They will be able to pull around quickly and never had a problem with time with this company. Drivers I know are Waseem, Steve and Mark. All very nice.

In re-reading your post. It must have something to do with the way transporation works at the port. It is probably a smaller space with people dropping people off and up again. It may be more controlled than at an airport, since there is only one or two ways to exit the ship. I am not concerned now that I realize you will be at a ship port. They will be able to drop you at the gate at MCO. I would use the sky cap service to check my baggage there--that tip is worth it. Love using the sky caps, so easy and better than checking stuff in at counter.

Duh....I really must refrain from posting too early in the morning. My reading comprehension skills seem to be a bit lacking. Didn't notice that the OP said at the port. That's a horse of a different color.
At port, there isn't a ton of room to just sit and wait. And because there are a lot of variables when it comes to leaving the ship, the towncars sit at a different parking lot...it's really just across the street..about a minute away. So, when you get your luggage and are physically leaving the ship, you can call the car company, and they will dispatch the car and driver, who will then drive to the pickup area, right in front of the ship.
Sorry for my misunderstanding.

Thank you so much for your responses. I am so concerned about the logistics of our trip home, I'm afraid I'm not going to enjoy our vacation! But it is good to know that it is common practice to call the toll free number once we reach our luggage. Of course I'll have nightmares about them not answering the phone! But I will think positive that all will go smoothly and we won't miss our flight home. Thanks again for your responses; it is truly much appreciated.

i wont have a phone, how do you call them is there phones to use?
