Howdeeeeee.....

I have a question regarding Tiffany's Towncar Service. If I only book one way (MCO to hotel), why won't they let me put it on my credit card? :confused3 They are telling me I have to pay the driver cash...is that right? Why can't they use my credit card??

Thanks for anyone who knows, or if you don't and just took the time to read.....

More than likely because you are going one way they are not charging the driver a commission for giving him the ride. Therefor they prefer you to pay him cash. This ride is going to be subbed out to another driver and more than likely he does not have a way of depositing credit cards. The, more than likely, 20% that Tiffany would charge the driver for the ride will probably go back into the drivers pocket. It is possible that is the only way he will do the ride for Tiffany.

Personally I would pay him with a credit card and claim you don't have the cash to pay with. What Tiffany is doing is a pure example of non customer service. Most companies you could deal with in Orlando do not take the credit cards up front, but will ask you to pay the round trip fee when you are dropped off at the resort. Most companies will take credit cards or cash. Usually they are the more reputable companies.

a friend of mine used them last year (one way) and i warned her, and she said they DID take her credit card. i did like their service, but i think i'm going to call them back and tell them if i can't use my cc, then cancel my res.

thanks for the info!

I booked with Tiffany for next month and they took my credit card info. Of course, I cancelled my reservation at first because of their rude customer service. Then the owner called me and apologized. Maybe he was doing me a favor.:confused3

Were you one way or round trip?? (I think our "one way" has a lot to do with it.....according to Edd)

We used Tiffany several times with no problem until last Feb. We had paid for a round trip up front and then they didn't come to pick us up to get to the airport. I had called 24 hours before to confirm. They were quite rude about NOT being there, when I finally did get them on the phone. We ended up taking another company who was at the hotel but it was a bad way to end a nice trip. To top it off they were going to charge me the one way fare instead of refunding 1/2 what we paid up front. No way would I deal with them again just to not talk to the person on the phone!

As I am planning this year I am not sure what to do but I am very nervous to use any transportation where I am depending on someone else. At the very least no way am I paying up front.

Many companies in Orlando now collect the round trip fare when they drop you off at the resorts. I think that is better way of doing that than taking the money ahead of time. Of course if they take it ahead of time it is on a credit card and you would get the chance to dispute it when it came through on the account. Just be careful, Tiffany like some of the older companies are showing signs of old age and less customer service because their base is built up and one person falling off the mountain doesn't mean much to them. There are still many companies out there that will give you the customer sevice that you deserve.

I have heard from Tiffany former drivers that the new owner and management have a lot to be desired.

Most companies take your credit card information simply to secure your reservations (just like a hotel does), they do not run your card in advance. You have the option to pay by cash or credit card when you are dropped off. You can pay roundtrip when you are dropped off, or one way to each driver, that's up to you. Any company that says you must pay roundtrip up front, or a company that charges your card in advance ... I wouldn't do it.

When we used Happy Limo in the past, I've always "held" the res on my credit card, and then told them just to put it on there....always tip in cash tho.... :teeth:

When they ask you to pay for roundtrip when you arrive, what's the incentive for them to come back and pick you up? :confused3 I would never pay for roundtrip until i was "done" with my traveling......
