At least I thought that would be a headline after Saturday night's debacle that Hildie created. To me, Tiffaney's is classic saphistocation. It is not spray-painted grafiti on walls of a bedroom, on the roman shades and on the bed linens. Hildie did it again. As far as I'm concerned... took a perfectly normal room and made it ugly to the extreme.

The blue color was very pretty - but I was so aghast when she painted that white pattern over everything!

I was amazed, Doug's rooms in both episodes were very nice but I thought he was going to blow a head gasket from butting heads with those one set of homeowners. I am now curious as to what the floor would have looked like if he had got his own way!

I hated that Tiffany's room, althought the blue was very pretty, but that graffitti- aaarrrggghhh!!!

RuDisney, if I was those home owners, I would have rushed out the next day to Home Depot and bought new paint. How are you supposed to sleep in a room so busy? I would love to know what Tiffany really did think of that horror show "inspired" by them?

That room was awful!! I was so sure that the HO were going to hate it. I still can't believe they liked it. I think they were just being nice, because of all the confrontation they had with Doug.

Those were ribbons??? Yikes, that was horrible and when the woman said she loved it, I just about fell off my chair! Hildy is too over the top for me. I like most of Doug's, LOVE Vern's, most of Frank's, most of Lauri's and some of Genevieve's. But Hildy is just too much.

OH yeah!! I agree with everyone's posts so far. I just can't believe that room. I thought my kids could have done better when they were younger. I do not pretend to have any artistic ability. When that was distributed I did not get any share, but I do know that even I would have stopped this before it started. I would have been like the couple who tried to protect the floor I guess.

I was also disappointed about the couple that fought over the floor, I think it would have tied all in nicely. They should have had the Tiffany room...that would have been a better battle to win.

Another vote here that Hildy has absolutely no taste. I really with they would replace her.

Man, the tension between Doug and the couple he was working with! Made for an interesting show.

That tension was so dramatic. I've worked with interior designers before and if there is a snag in a design element, they can usually come up with a workable compromise. They don't get all cry-baby about not getting their way. Doug was right, though, in that it is not the decision of the home owner and designer, it is the designer and the neighbors' opinions working the room. BUT, when a HO says, "Don't touch my HW floor," the designer should respect that.

What about the bench with pasted on foil??? How long will that last!!!

I've seen more AWFUL rooms on that show than not!!! These designers create nightmares!!!

I do love the carpentry that Ty does. He is a genius!!

When this episode first aired I couldn't believe how UGLY the room was and that the woman liked it (or said she did). And I couldn't believe how Doug helped out the other team. If I had been the couple that was working with Hildi I would have been FREAKED OUT that the designer working on MY HOUSE wasn't working!

ITA with everyone's posts so far. I just shudder every time I watch TS and Hildy is on. This "Tiffany's" room is right up there with the circus tent room she did (remember--where she tried to paint the furniture with latex wall paint?!?  ) as one of the worst all-time rooms on TS.

I saw that episode before (not this week) and remember thinking how hideous both rooms were. I was channel flipping this week, and came on just as Hildi was about to take off the chair rail and knew I couldn't watch it. Sure, the chair rail made the room look a little small, but I loved the classic design that was in there before!

Another vote for questioning Hilde's sense of "style". The foil bench - come on! Anyone remember the beautiful kitchen she pasted over with wine labels? Yuck.

I think that Wedgewood is actually the item that is blue with white designs, not Tiffany's but I also thought that both rooms were ugly. The blue room would have been better to have the design on the bedding, with plain blue walls with white window treatments and accessories to tie it together.
I couldn't believe Doug having the hissy fit but then they did argue over every detail, I would have stood firm on the floor since the neighbors said not to touch the floor but let the rest go, that is the name of the game. I hated the headboard and most of the room but at least the armoir(sp?) was nice.
But all that tension sure made for an interesting show.

Did anyone see the "flower wall bathroom"? Hildy used silk flowers and they stapled them over an entire wall. That was bad!!!! That bathroom was great to begin with, how unfair of TS to pick a nice room and redo it!! ;) :p

I thought the Tiffany's room was horrible too. If I were on Trading Spaces, and Hilde was going to do my room, I think I would just cry and cry and cry. I have never liked anything she has done. She always seems to do the exactly what the homeowners say they don't want.

I saw the floral bathroom, Cathy. What a complete mess. And to staple the flowers on? How long will that last. The walls would have to be fixed before you could do anything else with it. Pathetic.

Of course, the wine label kitchen is right up there with the ugliest things she's ever done, as well.

I think they should do a Trading Spaces episode where Hilde designs a room for Doug, and Doug designs one for Hilde.

I think they should do a Trading Spaces episode where Hilde designs a room for Doug, and Doug designs one for Hilde.

Now THAT is an awesome idea!!!!!

I read somewhere (TS website) that if Doug was going to have anyone design a room for him it would be Hildi!

Though I can't stand most of her rooms, she has done a few ok ones. Like the boy's bedroom that had a camping them including a climbing rock wall (that was actually safe!)
