Tiered parking

Well it looks like they are testing tiered parking for an additional $15 this weekend. For us, this is getting ridiculous. I know at least this one is a choice.

ugh but you are right at least it's an option not a fee imposed upon you. Any word on where the tiered parking is (lots?) just curious on that one.

I had to tell DH and DD that I'm not excited (for the first time) about our planned trip in September - we're now considering or at least talking about going to Washington DC instead (for us not to be down at Disney a few times a year is basically unheard of). I hope I regain the excitement but with all of these price changes / added fees they are talking about I'm just kind of annoyed with Disney right now.

just dawned on me I'd hate to be the toll booth CMs - "would you like regular parking for $20 or premium parking for $35?"

Most likely there will be signs with the prices for the two options. Many other theme parks already have premium parking. Employees at those other places often try to upsell guests to the premium parking. They're probably instructed to do so by management. I suppose Disney toll booth CMs will do the same.

Starting today you can spend a little bit more money to park closer to the entrance. Price is $35 for the Auto Preferred parking area.

It will be interesting to see how full those areas get.
I will walk further to save $15, but I'm betting more people will be willing to pay to be closer.

That's Disney trying to make up for giving all passholders free parking now, even though the new passes all did go up in price to cover some of the difference from the parking they still cant be satisfied, they need an increase in the AP prices and more money coming in from parking.$35 is pretty ridiculous to save a little bit of walking when you're still going to be walking all day.I'd rather valet park my car at an Epcot or MK hotel.

We're here now. It sounds like for resort guests and AP holders it will be a 15.00 charge.

I found this on Twitter: from @SureAsLiz
@WDWNT To answer some questions I've seen - Jafar Lot is preferred at MK. Amaze at EPCOT. Free parking (resort, ap, etc) can upgrade for $15

Sorry, didn't see the "Tiered Parking" thread, please merge this thread or delete it if want to Mods. Thanks

I can expand a bit with more than 140 characters here

This is a pilot that will run for an indefinite period of time based on guest response.
It is currently only at MK and Epcot - the largest lots
Magic Kingdom preferred lot is Jafar, Epcot is Amaze
Any car that has free privileges (AP, resort guest, CM, etc) will have the option to upgrade if they desire. Otherwise the lots will be loaded as normal
Whether or not it is rolled out to the other two parks, or continues at all, will be determined by guest demand/reactions

Sad, sad, sad! For the first time since Walt Disney World opened, we do not have an upcoming trip planned. I am just disgusted with the money grabbing attitude there right now.

Some of our meals on the last trip were beyond terrible, The Boathouse for example. We had so much trouble with our Magic Bands and just getting the things for our villa like sheets, blankets, and a crib was a hassle. The whole trip was left with a black cloud over it!

Shoot, we are still trying to get them to pay medical bills from the last "wee mistake" they made, when we had a flying squirrel in our villa. Why it takes 3 months to finish paper work for this is beyond me! I called again yesterday and was told it could be weeks longer before Medicare responds. Funny when I asked for the paper work from Medicare, I received it in a matter of days. And of course Disney will not accept the paper work I was sent! I am beginning to think we really needed an attorney to handle this!

Disney better wake up soon or the normal, regular fans they have will disappear!
