Arts and Crafts **Tie Dye Mickey ears shirts directions**NEW NEW PICS LAST PAGE**

Ok, still looking for a white 3T girly anything, but I did find on clearance at Hobby lobby Tulip individual color dye boxes for $1.20. In the box is a bottle w/ the dye that you add the water to, gloves and rubber bands. I assume that I need to buy the soda ash stuff also and I need black b/c they had limited colors in the clearance and I only bought the clearance colors as of now. Will that cover what I need to get to make these? TIA!

I havent read all the replies so sorry if someone already asked this and I missed it..

do you wash it in the washer and put it in the dryer with the rubber bands still on or do you take them off first?

also, do you cut the basting string or does that stay on?

Yea... sometimes you stumble around the forest until the tree hits you :rotfl2:, gears are turning as we speak :woohoo:

PixieDust32- I have been searching the disboards on lots of threads and I thought I was going crazy because I couldn't find you.:sad2: Last year I e mailed you and ordered 5 shirts, light green, yellow , and tourquoise, you had posted pictures of our shirts on 8/9/09. I told you last year we got so very many compliments an that I would send you a picture. WELL-I got divorced and I really do not know how to use the computer very well. We STILL have not printed our pictures from last year, my daugter 14 yrs old did download them, but that doesn't help me. Anyway, I am going to WDW again at the end of July and I desprately want more shirts- I'll e mail you tonight! I am so excited that I found you.:worship:

I tried to e mail you last night, I thought I had it right but I must have had something wrong. Please let me know what your email address is or your phone #, I need to get intouch with you quickly. Thanks!:worship::worship:

I left her a message on her cell phone today. Thanks for your help. I don't think that I can pm or get any yet. I have only been posting for 3 days! I found Roxy's info in my folder from last year when she made shirts for our trip.

I know that "Girly" 100% cotton white shirts are hard to find. Everything has a print on it or a little bit of spandex (which you don't want). You may have to settle for a boys t-shirt. I have had good luck at Target with the Boys Cherokee Ultimate White T (unfortunately the toddler girls version has spandex in it). (BTW I also like to dye the ladies Merona ultimate Ts at Target!)

The dye you found sounds fine--as long as it's the kind that comes with the bottle. Some dyes come in pouches that you mix in water--that is not the kind you want.

When you buy black in the Tulip or another brand (other than Dharma), use half the amount of water recommended to mix with the dye. This is a tip I learned from Roxy (the tie dye master!). :worship: It will make your black darker---black is hard to keep dark.

And yes, you'll need to get the soda ash to soak the shirts before you dye them.

Have fun! WARNING: It's addicting!!! :woohoo:

Hi! Sorry I was out of town.

I don't wash my shirts before, some people do and that's fine too.
