Which work better, the tide pen or the shout wipes? I use the spray shout at home, but i wanted something to bring with, just in case. I would think the pen would be easier than all the little individual wipes?

Comment?

ONLY 28 DAYS TILL WE GO TO DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

The Shout wipes worked best for me. The Tide pen barelt did anything. I love Spray 7 Wash but I don't think they have any portable wipes/pens.

Doesn't Spray & Wash have the stain stick? Of course that is bigger than the pens or wipes.

I haven't used the wipes, so I am curious to see what everyone's opinion is. I did use the Tide pen this past weekend (I too wanted to experiment before our trip).

The stains came out of DH's shirt right away, but it took quite a while for it to dry up afterwards - not something I'm crazy about using on DS (16 months). I'm not sure if the wipes stay wet also, but I want to find out!

I found the Shout wipes left a water mark which was like diluted stain. You could still see something there. I liked the Tide pen.

I like them both, but the best laundry stain remover I have ever used is sold at WDW--at Basin in DTD they have a laundry soap bar. This gets out EVERYTHING--and I do mean everything. Even if the stain is old and it set up in dryer (ie DH's old pit stained Grateful Dead shirt that DS wanted to resurrect :sad2: :hippie: :sad2: ). I told the kid no, but he wanted to try it and to my amazement it worked. It has prevented any stains from ruining clothing and even removed stains from clothes I was going to throw out. As soon as I can I use the shout wipe or tide pen to prevent the stain from setting (and to avoid looking like a sloppy person  , but even without it the bar stuff works great. One bar was like $4.00 and I have had it since last July--By the looks of the bar I'll have it for a few more years as well--a little goes a long way. Last night something sticky got in the dryer adn onto a good pair of my work suit pants--Noticed after it cooked in I ran them under water rubbed the soap bar on them grabbed an old electric toothbrush--works as good as a tide spinbrush--and the whole thing including the adhesive rubbed right off. I will be purchasing a bunch of these for my friends and family--it has saved me so much money not having to throw away expensive clothing. So if you get a chance I highly reccomend that you give this a try. :woohoo:

I love the Shout wipes - they are the best. I also bring the Stain and wash stain stick. I stick the shout wipes in my backpack for stains that happen when we're in the parks (think Mickey bars). I use the stain stick for ones I don't notice until I'm putting it in the laundry bag.

I love the Tide pen! It works wonder for me where the Shout wipes didn't touch the stain.

I found that using the Tide pen on light colors left a yellowish stain that will not come out. Believe it or not, baby wipes work very well on stains, even tomato. I also bring along a very small bottle of dish soap and treat/wash anything horribly stained in the sink.

By any chance was it Fels Naptha Soap? If so that works wonders, also great for poison ivy. It washes the oils right off and lets the skin heal. Around here you can find it at Marcs stores or smaller drugstores.

I was also going to post about Fels Naptha soap, you can buy it here in the laundry aisle @ the grocery store.

I have tried both the Shout Wipes & the Tide pen. The pen works really great, but I agree that it is sometimes unkind to lighter/white items. Baby wipes really seem to work equally as well as the Shout ones & cost less. I toss a travel pack of them in our backpack & they've worked out great, even on Mickey Bars!

FYI: It's called Dr. Spot. There is a Basin store at the Mall of America where they also carry this. My DMIL loves this too! Of course, she didn't bring me some home from her trip so I could try it too. I guess I'll have to get my own on our trip to FL. I just checked and you can order it directly from the BASIN website for $4.95 a bar!

The Tide Pen is specifically designed for non greasy stains. Tide (dot) com gives the list of what it will/will not work on. It is not a pretreater more like a mini detergent.

I have found shout wipes to be useless or as useful as a baby wipe.

I always wash anything with a stain the first chance i get (ie hotel room sink) I have already put shout on a stain and threw it in my bag to go home and when it was washed a few days later... It ended up with what looked like mild bleach marks. Now anything i put stain remover on i wash in 24 hrs so it doesn't become color remover.

I've always had really good luck with the shout wipes.... so much so that I've been places and had the person next to me spill and I share :)

I have only used the shout wipes. My issue is that it seems to spread the stain. :rolleyes2 It lifts the spot, but every time it leaves a type of residue ring and a big wet spot. I hope the pen works better.

:cool1: For a quick on the go stain, Shout wipes are great.

 However, There is a Clorox brand stain out that I use for laundry at home. It's in a spray bottle and works great. It does not have bleach, it's just the brand.

:moped: Going to WDW November 2006 with DD 5, DS 2, DH 35

Picture this...DD4(at the time)+ Animal Kingdom= entire orange drink on the cutest white sundress ever ( I know I know what was I thinking "white" :sad2: ...Actually I was thinking cool since it was August). Got out the Tide Pen and out came all of the stain! :woohoo: Put the dress in the good old ziplock- changed DD into new outfit and didn't have to think twice about the outfit! I am a user for life!

Would recommend the value pack of the sticks that they sell at Sams/Costco- it does go fast when you have an enormous stain!

I'm a fan of the Shout Wipes. If it's a really big and messy stain you may have to put a paper towel or tissue on one side of the fabric and use the Shout Wipe on the other. When you do this the funk (or whatever is stuck in there) get's passed to the fabric on the other side rather than getting diluted and pushed to the edges.

I like the Shout Wipes because they are so small you can put them in your wallet, pocket, whatever - no need to bulk up.
