Tide laundry det?

^^ Same here there is a LOT of competition among laundry brands so they all try to match each other's prices. Cheer is no longer made, so only if a store still has some old inventory will you be able to find that brand.

Target Circle has coupons all of the time. Target will often have sales on top of the coupons. Win win for us.

I have also started using the Studio by Tide in place of Woolite.

Really? Fred Meyer, which is Kroger, have both arm and hammer and all on sale often for 1.99 on the smaller bottles which is when I stock up. I used to use tide but can't find it at a good enough price and a&h works just as well for me.

^^ Cheer is a laundry detergent sold in the United States and Canada. It is manufactured by Procter & Gamble. ... As of July 2016 Cheer detergent is still being sold, albeit as a budget detergent. Tide Plus Colorguard replaced Cheer as the premium color care detergent.

(According to what I see online. Our local grocery stores no longer carry Cheer.)

I used to buy Tide, but I’ve used a ton of different detergents over the past few years and I find they’re all about the same. So, now I buy Arm and Hammer.

I use Tide because I feel it doesn’t fade our clothes as much as others I’ve used. I usually get the ones with Febreze.

I make my own laundry detergent. Mixing it up takes about 15 minutes, and a batch lasts me a year -- give or take. Works great, especially on white clothes. It does have a strong clean smell, but I like that.

Safe for HE machines too. I've used it for more than a decade.

4 lb, 12 oz box of Borax
3 lb, 7 oz box Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda
2 14-oz bars of Zote soap (not always easy to find)
4 lbs Baking Soda
2 55-oz bottles Purex Crystals Fabric Softener (or other brand)

Grate up the soap. Mix in all the other ingredients.

I think the answer depends on what you need to wash.

We used to use whatever was on sale. Then I used cloth diapers for my kidlet, and I needed to get them really clean or run the risk of rashes (and there were a few times I had to adjust my wash routine because DD was breaking out badly). I found Tide, Gain, and Persil worked best, with Arm&Hammer with Oxy as a budget runner up.

Based on that, I’d say there definitely is a difference between the premium brands and the bargain ones, though that might not matter to you. If your clothes don’t get very dirty, you might not need a premium brand.

I like to get Tide powder in the big box when it’s on sale at Costco. I think the packaging is less wasteful than liquids, and if it gets knocked over, it’s easy clean up - just scoop off the floor and use it.

I have used Tide Free and Clear HE for years. When DD was little, I was spending a fortune on stain sticks and was not happy with the results. After doing a lot of reading online and asking all the mothers I knew, Tide seemed to be the favorite with no need for extra stain removers. Not having to buy the stain removers anymore made the price increase to Tide an easy adjustment. I don't worry much about stains these days, but still use it with no concerns.

I use Tide Ultra Free and Clear. The Tide Free and Gentle is...too gentle for my family's workclothes! (three of us work outside). The only place I see it is at Target.

For a while I used Tide Sport-I don't usually use scented because of allergies/sensitivities but it used to be a mild green apple smell. But then I noticed a change a few years ago and it was strong florals, ugh.

The Tide Ultra Free and Clear works on our nasty work clothes. It's not cheap but I will pay to avoid walking around in ink stained stinky uniforms lol.

We use the powdered Tide. After we got an HE washer, we started using it based off a Consumer Reports article. I like that we just use about a tablespoon of it. A box lasts months and months.

For me, the answer is no. Many years ago when money was very tight for us, I was making my own laundry detergent with almost the same recipe as a previous poster. I found it cleaned our clothes just as well as Tide and other name brands. It cost me about 6 cents per load for the homemade detergent. Around here (Wisconsin), Tide costs between~.16 - .26 cents per load.

Even though I no longer make my own detergent, I still refuse to buy detergent that costs me more than 6 cents per load. I can usually find Purex or ERA on sale for this price. I only buy liquid detergent for my front loader because it is just easier. If I see a brand of pod detergent on clearance at a good price, I will buy a package or two just to take on vacation for doing laundry as it is easier transport.

Tide and Persil... household here...

We all have sensitive skin... I do alot of double washing due to it, and even have to add a extra rinse cycle just to make sure everything is out of the clothes, and towels ... My grandson skin is super sensitive, tide only with a extra rinse cycle for all his clothing...

I use the Persil, on DH's white undershirts, wash in Persil and bleach, then in Tide... then dryer...

We have a boat, so any of the clothes and towels after a weekend on the water, get washed in Persil first then re-washed in Tide.... to get the all the sunscreen, and sweat and salt & brackish water, or river or lake water, plus if we are fishing... they get a funky smell to them, ... and then everything smells and looks really clean...
