Hi there!! This was my first time taking my dog camping at Fort Wilderness. She's also my first dog I've ever had. So that said, I wanted others to know I pulled two ticks off Smudge after our first day there. We then purchased a flee and tick collar and put it on her. She still got two more ticks on her but all were removed. I just wanted to let other people know about this. I was really surprised at all the people that don't pick up after their dogs on the dog walk. I stepped in two 'parcels' during an evening stroll. Also, saw many that had be stepped in along the way:eek: It is sure a beautiful place to walk a dog. We had a wonderful time!! Happy tails to you;)

Wow! Ticks I can believe, but not picking up after your dog I cannot and there is no excuse for it. I will say something to any dog owner I see who does not pick up the mess after their dog. Is it my business? - YES! So to those people, when you don't pick up after your dog you are interferring with the enjoyment of my vacation - which means you are encroaching upon my liberty. To that end, I will say something - so plan on it!

LML - I hope the rest of your vacation was well. Was FW everything you expected? Thanks for the heads-up on the rude people of the world. We will be at FW in late February.

Tim.

Buy a good flea and tick killer for your dog. We use Topspot/Frontline for our dog. I'd never find a tick in my collie fur ;)
