Long-time DIS goer, going to Universal for the first time this summer--family of four, two teenage daughters.

A couple questions re: park tickets:

1). When is it best to purchase them? I am a Sam's Club member and noticed they have tickets for about $130. It mentioned a 6-day window in which to use them. Is this how all Universal tix work?

2). Our budget is for two days. Do you recommend all at one, or one each at Universal and IOA? We are staying off site.

Thanks in advance for any tips and recommendations from the Universal vets here!

There are some tickets that have an expiration date on them
Sam’s club might be one that has a price for their members but has a restricted time period for when they are valid
What dates are you planning for your UO trip?

Some like to park hop and some like to do one park per day

You have a bit of edge for park hoping if one park has high crowds and the other park doesn’t

You have more flexibility by having the hopper tickets
and freedom to change plans if lines are long.

Check out some of the reports in the trip report forum and get an idea how others decide the benefits of park hopping or one park per day

Read what rides and shows/entertainment is in each park
You can rule out some rides that wouldn’t be of interest to you.
Roller coasters, wet rides, etc
