Trip shaping up, reservations booked for the Paradise Pier! Still need to make reservations for Goofy's breakfast for the monday (4/20) breakfast. Had a few questions :

1. Tickets! It seems that getawaytoday has the best price, $139 kids / $169 adults for a 3 or 5 day park hopper with 2 magic mornings. (compared to mousesavers / ARES at $134 / 164 with 1 mm, and the disneyland site at $139 / $169 but only 1 mm) But, since we're staying onsite, do we get the magic mornings either way?

2. Are there any special disboard codes that I should know about that I can't find right now? (the search option is quite frustrating to this newbie!)

3. Thinking about a dinner @ Rainforest Cafe on Monday - reservations required or not necessary? A good friend said her kids had a horrible time, were scared, crabby, etc . . . . I think it looks like fun though.

Thanks for any help!

Well, I can answer your question about tickets. Because you are staying at PP you will have access to MM each morning it is offered (Sun, Tues, Thurs and Sat). So purchase your hoppers wherever is cheapest and most convenient. With getaway hoppers, I believe you have to pick them up at will-call, where you can just print out the disneyland.com tickets at home and go straight to the gate. No need to stop at the ticket booths.

We have eaten at Rainforest in Orlando and its fun the food is nothing special. However we will probably eat there one night on our upcoming trip because I have a gift card. The first time we went in Orlando, my youngest who was 3 at the time was very scared, he wasn't into the darkness and the loud noises of the animals coming to life. he got over it the older he got.

The first time we went to Rainforest (our local one) DS hated it. By the time we ordered he was DONE, and DH took him out to the play area while I waited for our food to be delivered and then boxed up, paid and left. We ate in the mall's play area.

But on that trip we bought their Safari Club membership ($15?), which gave us immediate priority seating, so we didn't need reservations. It also gives you a discount...free appetizer with orders of entrees, or 10% off your full order, I believe.

Since we bought into the club, we were going to use it for Disneyland, and luckily this time DS was OK with it. We were closer to the front and there weren't loud gorillas right in our ears, so it was a bit quieter, where we were seated, and I think DS liked it more because of that.

So just know that your kid(s) might like or hate it!

The club was $10 actually and we have it also. :) Without it I do suggest making a reservation but with it you should be OK just walking up. We just do walk up now.

A couple of weeks ago, we made ressies for Rainforest, and I couldn't get seating until 8:00 at night! I took the ressie, but kept my fingers crossed that I could call back to check for cancellations and get something sooner. We always go as a tradition to kick off our DLR trip, so I knew that even if we had to grab a snack to tide us over, we'd be ok. Well, no other cancellations, but we were in DTD around 4:45 or maybe a few minutes later. We made our way through, and stopped off at the Rainforest to check again for earlier seating. The guy out front was very nice, and had us seated within 20 minutes (essentially 5:30). Since it takes a little time to order and get your food, that worked out to be about perfect for our kids! (we probably got food and started eating about 6:10 or so). I would definitely get ressies again, but check in sooner and you might get an earlier seating!

I just made a reservation at Rainforest Cafe for 4/22 @ 5 pm, my kids have never been. I went with some girlfriends during spring break our Sr. year in Vegas.

We do our kick off dinner at RFC too, we always enjoy it!

We bought the membership at our local Rainforest and like Molly paid $15

Hmm, I got mine at DTD RFC and could have sworn it was only 10. I'm probably wrong though, so if you are going to do it plan on 15. LOL

We've eaten at the Rainforest Cafe at the Mall of America three times now, and each time my kids have been scared.:confused3 . They said they didn't like the thunder and lightning. What's funny is that REAL thunder and lightning doesn't faze them, and never has. Yet for some reason they find the restaurant thunder terrifying.:rotfl:

we used to live near a rainforest cafe and the first time i took my dd (not yet 2yo) she freaked at the thunderstorm. we bought a membership and went at least once a month. i taught her to sing the "rain rain, go away" song during the storm, and by the time she finished the song the storm was over, and that worked well. each time we went she was less scared of the storm. nowadays (she is 4yo now) the RFC is her and her brother's favorite restaurant.
