Tickets that expired dec 2031 now not valid

I’m confused. Were these tickets non expiring initially ? Or was the 2030 date added during the pandemic? And in the case of @Tammylynn33 , hadn’t you already paid to update them to date specific tickets in December? It’s a new product that you already paid hundreds to update. How the heck do they think they can go change those now ?

I would highly recommend not bothering with calling or emailing complaints. Hit their social media channels with this one.. and the theme parks blogs and sites with big followings. Just arbitrarily changing a date on a pre sold product is really freaking slimy and if that’s the case hit them where it hurts ..in the court of public opinion. That’s where you will get a response.
They were tickets that had expiry dates that --- due to the pandemic were extended --- and the new 2030 dates were confirmed by agents that the extension would be vaild --- today I called (after multiple attempts and HOURS on hold) and did a chat about this and both were confirmed they acknowledged there had been 2 previous times I'd confirmed that extension to 2030 and that disney knew there were issues for non US travelers.... (the agent I spoke to today confirmed they could see those previous confirmations) but ultimately they didn't care --- the agent was fine she did her job -- but Disney not so much in my opinion.... I would never book with them again since they don't seem to care much. Hope your experience is different but ours was atrocious.

My tickets were extended to the Sept 2021 expiry during the pandemic. I called to update them to January 2022 and lost my Canadian resident discount in the process and had to pay full current price. I knew some had been extended to 2030 , but I wasn’t sure if they were different than my tickets . It didn’t make sense , and still doesn’t. I’m sorry that happened to you . Very disappointing.

Sorry you were impacted too... I wasn't given a choice to pay the difference. To be honest since the rep said they saw the two attempts/confirmations I'd made of the 2030 date -- and confirmed that's what had been offered I thought it would be a no-brainer. I don't know why they didn't say we promised/you accepted we're good. But they were nowhere near that --- or maybe they (the agent) couldn't. It felt super sad and emotional to acknowlege we'd never travel to WDW again. Which is essentially what happened. So sad but we're moving along (and I suspect vacations will be WAY more affordable going forward.)

So at the end of the day I booked a King Club room at Hard Rock for our 10 nights... And I'm actually looking forward to this vacation -- no FP/Genie/ADR stuff to worry about. Still figuring out tickets at UO but I'm guessing that will come together soon..... Its almost relaxing to know that we're set.

By the way it was cheaper than the Gran Destino Club room I had originally booked even with the tickets.

i had two diff sets of tickets the ones through airmiles and owns I paid for. I had upgraded 3/5 tickets at a cost of $800USD and was told the other 2 were fine. It then allowed me to book park reservations with all tickets as the two that were not “upgraded/date changed/ extended “ were end of 2030. I was reassured they were fine . And obviously as I had already paid the $800 I would have extended the two others if I thought I needed to.
I can’t deal with this until Monday as I’m working 12s in LTC this weekend . So my park reservations will be gone.
I’m done. We are now booked at Universal and will be renting our Cmas DVC stay. Done for now

I'm caught up in this too. Have to say I'm quite disappointed with Disney for their handling of the situation. We've got two of these tickets involved in a May 2022 booking. We were assured by the Cast Member who helped us reschedule that they were fine to use for these dates. I truly can't imagine that there were THAT many of them out there. I'm pretty surprised at the lack of willingness to honour the date posted and the multiple assurances.

I tried to write to the Dis Unplugged podcast to see if they might be covering this issue but the website gave me an error upon submission. Can't find an email address.

Does anyone know what the estimated cost was of these tickets ? I know mine were airmiles 7 day..
I’ve already paid 800 to upgrade tickets I already have . I’m wondering what they would be worth without paying anymore ? 3 days 5 days?

If I may ask, what are you planning on doing with the $$ that are now tied up in Disney tickets? I feel the same as you and really don't think I want to return to Disney if they don't value us as customers.

I had 2 adult, Airmiles Canadian Flex date tickets (5 days). I paid 9450AM for the tickets (2) (purchased Dec 2019). When I convert that to cash and then US$ it works out to $755US. Take the tax off and I'm looking at a value of about $350 per ticket. The Flex date tickets were a premium add on after Canadian discount so a lot can get lost in the conversion. I should have written ticket #'s down at the time but I wasn't thinking Covid would happen.

I used the 95AM Cash =$10 as a guide and that is pretty much the rate that Red Flag uses to convert current tickets at.

I found this which shows what various tickets cost on the Disney World page back in 2019

600487
Advance purchase tickets.
A 5 day base ticket would be in the range of $83 per day and a 7 day base ticket $61 per day.($US before taxes). The cost to add on the Flex date feature ?? (will try to track that down). The Canadian discount was 20%. Taxes are 6.5%

Found this on the cost of the Flex date option

"Save Money by Planning
In other words, avoid “flexible” tickets. Even though this new option gives you the ability to arrive on any day — and 14 days to use up the pass — it costs even more than the most expensive days of the year. 5-day tickets now cost between $388 and $452, but a 5-day “flexible” ticket is $460. If you can endure the planning headache and pinpoint your first day in the parks, you’ll keep more cash in your wallet."
(not certain what date these ticket prices are from re price increases)

When I use the $83 per day amount above (x 5 days) =$415 less 20% Canadian discount =$332 add in tax 6.5% =$353 pretty close to converting what I paid AM

I think a 7 day ticket should probably also be pretty close to the AM conversion using the $61/day amount noted above.

This is how I’m feeling right now. I have 4 x 5 day parkhoppers for DL bought with AirMiles that will expire in December and I now cannot refund or upgrade either through AM or Disney. (Unless I go to the park without a reservation). Value at the time I bought them was about $1200 USD. But this ordeal and lack of compassion from Disney really has taken the magic out for me. DH is hoping things change and Disney offers some viable option for those of us that aren’t local with these expired tickets.

I so hear you on that. I'm going to try and dig up some email addresses to send a displeasure note to. If anyone has an email address please pass it along. If we are a large enough vocal group they will take notice.

I think we need a few clarifying points here to help each other out.

Any tickets that were to expire during the closure of the parks were automatically given an expiry date of September 26th, 2021 and were valid for any day between the original date (for dated tickets) for the full number of days you paid for. Mine was a 3 day ticket that I would have been expected to use on 3 consecutive days and switched to any 3 days between Sept 26th 2020 (my
original set date was May when i bought them and i switched them to the furthest date available that didn't cost to upgrade!!) & Sept 26th, 2021.

The furthest date the system is able to assign is December 31st, 2040. That was established when they went to dated tickets and was automatically assigned to all "non-expiring" tickets

Cast members who work the phone lines are notoriously bad for giving misinformation or confusing answers that don't apply to the actual question and it's not uncommon to get different reactions depending on who you get the luck of speaking to on any given day.

QUESTION for people who are noticing dates changed and receiving these troubling emails: Did you purchase the NON-EXPIRING CDN discounted tickets from (i'm guessing on the exact year here) 2018 or 2019? If so there is a truckload of easily accessible documentation that came directly from Disney to support this and if I was getting shafted over these tickets I'd be using every single avenue to pursue this breach of contract!

OR did you purchase DATED and/or FLEX CDN discounted tickets from the 2 following years? If so then I'm thinking they might have gone ahead and slapped the September date on your tickets in the same manner that every other ticket was dealt with. For people with the Flex dated tickets this is no doubt even more annoying and troubling because you bought them expecting to use on future trips. For those with dated tickets we're stuck with the new date that was assigned and will end up with the credit in our accounts.

FOR those of you who paid to "upgrade" your tickets to a trip you are planning to take AFTER the new expiry date (i'm guessing here it's to control crowds during the 50th which starts Oct 1st) and are now falling between the cracks, you have more than a justifiable reason to be upset and demand a refund or some other acceptable (TO YOU , not them!) solution!

I think they're falling back onto this clause but notice the red highlighted- they should be refunding you if that's what you want. Unfortunately this will only apply to tickets purchased directly from Disney and not obtained thru any other sources ☹

I have 4-10 day PH canadian resident non-expiry tix that I purchased in spring 2017. And they have always had the expiry date of Dec 31, 2030 in MDE. And still have that date yesterday and today when I checked. The scary part is…my receipt does not say non-expiry anywhere….so now I fully expect Disney to come for them at some point….
