Tickets Purchased @ Disney Store

I think you can, but not full sure. So I am going to move you over to the Theme Park Strategies board.

OhMari

I bought my tickets for my last trip at the Disney store. it is the same price as the advance purchase rate online... the plus side is they give you your tickets right then and there so no waiting for mail or delivery fee's... they will charge you FL sales tax however (I bought mine in VA). You can buy them all the way up to the day before your vacation and still get advance purchase. If you look around online however I am sure you can get better prices.. I just bought them there for convenience sake :thumbsup2

Lucky82061,

Thanks, I want to purchase at the Disney store using my gift card.

I bought them for my last trip from the Disney store. They give you a receipt with the activation code on it. Make sure you bring it with you, because one of our tickets got de-magnitized and Guest Services needed the original receipt to reactivate it.

I bought mine last year at the disney store. I was doing everything seperate (no package) and it was easier for me to buy the tickets when i had the money rather than holding on to it and spending it. Like the last poster said they do give you a slip of paper with a code on it just incase if becomes demagnitized. Also another plus is the ones at the disney store are plastic like a credit card. You pick which color (blue, purple, yellow and green[?] ) And you pick the character (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto.) I think its really nice with the plastic so they dont fall apart if it gets wet or anything like that. So theres my $0.02 hope that helps! :goodvibes

Yeah, we've been through that.

Generally, we like buying ours from the Disney Store. It's more of an excuse to talk Disney with the staff for awhile.

I always buy my tickets at the Disney store. You can buy them any time you want. I don't know how much they are right now, but the store has the prices...you can call. I go in January and I usually buy my tickets right after Thanksgiving.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'm going to purchase my ticket by Thanksgiving. :dance3: :dance3: Then I can concentrate on paying off my room by January. I'll start dealing with airfare by March.

We have some guests that will buy one at a time over a period of weeks to break up the payments.

FYI, you don't pick the color, only the character. The different colors are for Regular Adult, Regular Kid, AP Adult and AP Kid. The characters are Minnie, Mickey, Pluto and Goofy. Its great for not having to remember which ticket is whos when entering the parks.

You can purchase 3-7 day Magic Your Way tickets, base, Park hopper, Plus, Park Hopping Plus, same options w/ no expiration. also Annual Passes. You can buy them today and go tomorrow. We actually had someone come in buy their tickets on the way to the airport.

Unless things have changed, I will probably never purchase my tickets throught the Disney Store again. I went in to purchase 7-day hoppers with the no expiration option. I was able to get the 7-day hopper but not the no expiration option. The sales clerk told me that it would cost something like $25-30 ticket to add the option later. No big deal, the tickets were cheaper and I can add that option before I use them. So, we get down there and we had to pay the difference (bring them to gate price) and then we could add the no expiration option. So the tickets for us were no cheaper and we had to put out extra money that we had not budgeted for.

I don't know if this was just our store, the sales clerk or what. But if you are wanting to purchase them from the Disney store to "get them cheaper" make sure you ask for every option that you want because in the end it may not me cheaper.

HTH,

Can I buy up to an 8 day park hopper at the Disney Store? Also, if I do buy them at the store, when I get to the resort can I convert them over to be used on my room key?

Just one tip -- if you are buying them fairly close to when you are headed to wDW, call the store first and make sure they have the ticket you want.

I wanted to get an AP and one store near us (and we are in Virginia) was sold out, but another one had just gotten a bunch in. The nice salesclerk there said that they had a ton, so probably wouldn't sell out of them before the new year, but that the SEVEN DAY passes sold out much faster and often there would be a lag before they got new ones in.

Also, the closer you live to WDW, apparently the more likely they are to sell out fast (makes sense, I suppose!).

The plastic aspect is nice, as we bought our last set of passes from Undercover Tourist and while we got a discount, they are paper and more likely to get ruined.

You can't get an 8 day ticket at The Disney Store we only sell up to 7 days, but no less then 3 days.

regarding the poster that had the CM tell them they could add no expiration later for just $20-30, Not a lot of CM know about tickets. I have a manager who when someone comes in and asks a Disney World question asks me to explain. SO you may just have had a CM that didn't know much about tickets.

They can't run out of just 7 day passes, they way the tickets are done, either the store has tickets or they don't, they can run out of APs but still have tickets or vis versa

Yes, you can buy them there. I have the stuff right in front of me. I would go to www.undercovertourist.com though, they had the cheapest tickets.

The info I have says they sell passes up to a 7-day pass.

HTH,

Depending on when you purchased the tickets, the no expiration option may not have been available a that time. That option was just added a few months ago. For a long time, we were told to tell the guests that they had to add that option down at the parks if they wanted it and we just had a general price range for how much additional it would cost for that option. I've been working at my store for many years now and I've been through MANY different ticket options. Sorry about your experience. The next time you go to purchase tickets, ask the CM to go over the option with you to make sure that both of you and the CM are on the same page.

:)
