Then there's also the fact that it prevents someone from finding a lost ticket and using it for themselves.
Uh yeah this was already addressed hours ago.Uh, I can, because I did it.

Yeah!I don't sit and troll the boards all day, I just saw that I was quoted. And why would I lie? I was just relaying my experience. "Can anyone confirm this?" Um, hi. I'm someone. I did it. I confirmed it.
It's OK. You didn't know, and the answer took you by surprise. Fraudsters are attracted to Orlando for the "easy tourist prey." Naive WDW tourist noobies lose lots of money to scams. Sometimes it completely ruins their long-dreamed-of trip. Best to make it hard for scammers, so they move on to easier opportunities somewhere else.OK, I'm not complaining against Disney offering a wonderful discount to military. Since a 4 day pass is $177, we paid $44 per day which is a great deal! No complaints! I appreciate all the explanations and I would never contemplate breaking the Disney rule. I just wasn't aware of it probably because we've never had a situation like this. Just wanted our Orlando friend to come enjoy one day at the parks with us since we had an extra ticket day. I understand the "why" now. I am sorry that my original post seemed to some like ranting or ungratefulness. I just wanted to know the "why" behind the rule. Thanks again.
um that has been a policy for a long time.
so i don't see how disney is just now "taking it too far".
Um, have you read the thread? The point was covered several times over, and OP even acknowledged the error and apologized, your response just seems a little redundant and a bit harsh.
Adam
as though other threads aren't redundant and "a bit harsh"?
i wanted to voice my opinion as others have.
we are all allowed to have an opinion.
I must say that this thread has been educational to me. I have always wondered why they do the fingerprint scan thing, and I found this information quite useful.
I am pretty sure that I still have an old 'never expires' paper ticket with one day left on it in my safe. We got it on our honeymoon in 2003, but we have never tried to use it in the two times we have returned since then.
not only did she give her that extra bit of magic, she was not up charged for the adult difference ("its not your fault you grew up" says our lovely CM)
