Tickets, last minute trip, What to do?

My friend and her daughter have DVC and are going Mar 31st to April 4th and invited me to join. YAY! But out first night will be off property. They will be getting AP but I will just get a 4 day ticket. I have been out of the loop since Magic bands were introduced and am overwhelmed with questions.

Will I be able to get a Magic Band?
Will I have to link my tickets to her reservation? If I DON'T, will I not be able to get fastpass+
Should I just buy my tickets when I get there?

I think if they add you to their reservation and you have a ticket in advance, they can link you into their MDE and that'll give them access to FP+ for you.... But I'm not certain.
I am sure that if your ticket is not linked to an onsite reservation, you cannot do advance FP+ and may as well get your ticket when you get there.

Yes if you want to book FP+ in advance and receive a MB, they need to add you to the reservation, become friends on MDE, buy your ticket and link it.
