We bought tickets from UCT for the first time this year and I thought I remembered the podcast crew saying that when you arrive at the hotel you can hand the front desk CM your tickets and they can add them on to your room key/key to the world card, so that it's still all together.

The biggest reason we want to do this is the tickets from UCT are paper - and after 8 days of use I don't think they'll be much left of them!

Does anyone have any experience making this conversion and are there any tips I need to remember to make sure it goes smoothly?

The tickets are made from the same material that annual passes are made from so they are made to be durable. The ticket can be used again and again and be fine. It's not paper, it's tyvek.

I'm not sure of the process to get them added to your room key.

This is exactly what happened for me last year at Pop. The cast member gave me my Tyvek paper tickets to keep as a souvenir.

I brought my tickets from UCT to check-in, and they "put them" on my room key. Actually, I think I forgot about it initially and had to have it done at the consierge desk. I'm not positive, but I think they kept the tickets.

Be careful you don't wash them! I made that mistake after day 1 of a 5 day pass. I couldn't understand what these blank pieces of paper were with a magnetic strip running down them.:sad1: To this day, DH handles the tickets!!! I won't touch them!

They may or may not add them to your room key depending on the CM. I have had them refuse.

Good news is that there is nothing wrong with the paper tickets. I have had a 10 day no-expiration for 4 years and it is still going strong.

They do it at the consierge desk at every resort even Pop. It really makes things more convenient. If one CM refuses (can't figure out why unless they were swamped) ask another. They don't usually do it at the check-in desk but at the Consierge Desk.

I'm incorrect, I'll admit that I'm wrong. ;)

You can't add the ticket to your resort ID if you have bought tickets from a consolidator, like Undercover Tourist.

As far as I know, you can only add tickets to your resort ID if you're purchasing them from Disney directly. In most cases it would be when you check in at the resort. You can add them later if you aren't ready to purchase them upon check in.

I'm pretty sure this is accurate, but if I'm incorrect, I'll admit that I'm wrong. ;)

Sorry but you're wrong. I only buy my tickets from Undercover Tourist and on 3 seperate occasions they were added to my KTTW card.

We've added tickets bought from officialticketcenter.com onto our KTTW cards as well - with no problems. They even gave us a print-out to keep that had the tickets activation numbers on them in case we lost our keys.

Ok, I'm wrong. Maybe I'm just thinking of special tickets that are sold to conventions or something. :)

Now THAT is probably true. I don't think comp tickets can be placed on a KTTW card. I think APs USED to be possible, but I don't know if that is true (and I an think of all sorts of reasons why you wouldn't want to...)

I did have AAA tickets transferred to KTTW cards for my in-laws for their convenience. It wasn't a problem - except the CM completely screwed up one so we had NO entitlements on my FiL's card at all, which is always good to find out at the park...

As for the "paper" tickets:

The so called "paper" tickets are actually a material called Tyvek, and is very strong and waterproof. Strong enough that you may have heard of it before...they wrap houses in the stuff to protect it before putting on the siding.

CMs have reported that they have LESS issues with the Tyvek cards than plastic, especially with regards to the magnetic stripe.

Reasonable care should make them last perfectly fine. If it was a problem, Annual Passes wouldn't be issued on them.

That said, any ticket you get at WDW other than a KTTW card will be Tyvek.

It appears that tickets purchased and mailed to you are plastic. This may be due to them standing up better in the mail.

I've also gotten plastic tickets from AAA, but have also heard of them issuing Tyvek tickets as well.

If you have ANY ticket issues, if you have a receipt/order number and ID, you should be able to get them reissued. Having copies of the backs of the tickets may make it faster.

I have also done this several times. I had a problem with the conceirge at AKL. The lady told me she couldn't do it. Then she told my son's unused ticket was 10 day without the non expiring option. I was freaking out a little bit because I had just purchased them from UCT. The next day I went back to the same desk and there was no problem and the tickets were exactly what I thought they should be.

The moral of my story: if someone tell you they can't just try again later with a different person.

Rather than come back later, I would politely ask if they could check with someone, because you know for a fact that it can be done. If they say no, ask for a manager.

Arrgh! I had 1 tkt 10days, park hopper in my cart..went to the checkout:

"Your Credit or Debit Card will be billed U.S. Dollars $ 288.95
We guarantee you will pay no more than C$ 342.94 - the price you pay can be up to 2% less than this"
(my FYI: currency conversion today $288.95 USD = $323.77 CAD... we'll see how it racks up when the Visa Bill comes thru)

Entered Credit card info (very carefully). Got message back card declined (That would be definitely wrong), and told to retry.
Had to restart the whole process (Just went back several screens) and then the price was about $15 more.
Grrr, I thought.

What happened was that I had left the MoouseSavers/Undercover Tourist link, and was being quoted the usual prices.

So, be careful if you need to reenter any info, make sure the price is the one you expected!

(and I realized I was entering my Debit Card # instead of Visa! Doh!)

I'll definitely be asking congierge to transfer this to my room card.
After I've used the card at last once, I'll decide if I want to add more water parks or no expiry

:cheer2: woo hoo! Come on September! I still have 4 waterpark visits left from prev trip! :cheer2:
