So if I don't buy my tickets as part of my vacation package and buy them from another vendor like AAA, Undercover tourist, Tickets @ Work how are those tickets usually delivered? are they paper tickets that you have to present at the park entrance each day? and how do you get to pick FP+ with those types of tickets or is FP+ linked to the room reservation?

You'll be able to add those paper tickets to your MDE (by entering the numbers on the back of your tickets), which will link them to your magic band so you won't need the actual ticket for park entry. Then you'll be able to do FP+ 60 days out since room and tickets will be linked together.

Does AAA still sell just the tickets? When I called, I was told just total vacation packages.

From UT you don't even need to buy paper tickets anymore. They give you the confirmation code electronically and you link it directly in MDE.

There's no 'usual'. It all depends on who you buy from and how you choose to get your tickets delivered.

I've purchased from several third-party providers, and sometimes I've just gotten a code to enter on MDE and this most recent time I chose to receive plastic RFID enabled tickets. Some providers offer both, some just one or the other.

I bought tickets from Parksavers.com last week and with in two days I got the email confirmation and I added it to my MDE had no problems . I am printing out the email and when we go this Fall i will be stopping by guest services to get a plastic one just to have but they were terrific no problems at all and friendly.

AAA does sell tickets. In the past, I found other providers were cheaper.

I've purchased from both UT and Parksavers, recently. I just entered the confirmation numbers they emailed me into MDE, and away we went... ;)
