Tickets from Hotels?

I know that there have been many threads on park tickets but I have a question about buying tickets from a hotel. While looking through the AAA book some hotels have a disney logo and say "Official Location Disney Tickets On sale here."

My fiance stayed at the Springhill Suites on Universal Blvd. over New Year's and they had this logo in their ad. We already had tickets so we didn't bother but some of the advertised specials in the hotel seemed like a great deal. We are taking our parents again in the summer and are staying at the Country Inn and Suites in LBV (they also have this logo). I guess my question is has anyone ever purchased tickets from these places and if so, is there a catch? Or would I be better off ordering beforehand?

First time poster, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

These locations you refer to purchase their Disney tickets from Disney the same way that the major ticket wholesalers do. They are free to set their own selling prices on the tickets so they may offer some savings over Disney's own prices. Purchasing at these locations should be no problem at all. The only question is how much they will charge for the tickets.

The problem comes from some lodging places who are (for lack of a nicer term) less than honorable. These are the ones who allow illegal ticket resalers (almost like scalpers but they deal mostly in convention/special event tickets with expiration dates and traffic in used tickets as well) to sell their wares on their property, usually for a percentage of the profits. These are the places to avoid.

I had bought all our tickets. But we had another person join us at the last minute.

So I went to the hotel window where they sold WDW tickets. What a hockster!!! He was selling discount tickets but you had to go on a timeshare tour, yekky! Then he was telling the people who didn't want to go on the tour. That he could sell them a 1 day AK ticket then they could buy hoppers once IN AK.

This is so wrong!! He was selling them an extra ticket they didn't even need!!!!

Thanks for the info. I thought these hotels would be safe to buy from since they are advertised in AAA books as Official Locations. I guess I'll have to call the hotel to see what the tickets sell for.

That's exactly what i ran into, I walked up to the booth to purchase an extra ticket and he said "come in this office and sit down, we'll go over exactly what you need". I said "I know what I need" and he proceeded to tell me that he wanted to go over some things before he sold the tickets "you know", he said "they make me do this to keep my job". Later I realized it was a time-share presentation thing. He was not affiliated with the hotel, I was surpised the hotel allowed him to set up shop in their lobby. Strange! And very disappointing. However, this was 8 years ago :)

oh, one more thing. I left when he wanted me to go in the office. However throughout my stay I noticed elderly people being taken advantage of. I complained to the front desk, the front desk had legitimate tickets for the gate price.
