Tickets from Get Away Today?

Got our stuff for our vacation. The information says the tickets are only valid for our given travel dates. We arrive Weds, but are using 3 day hoppers for TH/F/S. Can I pick up my tickets Weds night? Or will that then knock out my Saturday date?

You can pick them up on Wednesday night. I asked the same question when I purchased from them and I think they said the tickets would be available at least a week before my travel dates. You pick them up at the ticket counter and they aren't activated until you go in. When you pick them up, you'll see that they are just regular tickets w/ the usual date restrictions.

The ticket stands are outside the parks, so you don't actually start using days on your ticket until you go through the gate Thursday morning. However, if you want to go into the parks that evening, you will need to add an extra day. The upside is that an extra day is very cheap, only like $10 per person. I'm thinking of doing that so I can see fireworks the first night.

For any ticket upgrades you do at the park, the new price will be the GATE price. You don't state how many days you purchased, so I can't give you exact numbers. Just be sure to take into account that you won't be paying the difference between the two Getaway Today prices. You are paying the new gate price minus what you paid for the discount ticket. This will cancel out any savings you would have gotten by prepaying. Your best bet would be to see if Getaway Today will let you upgrade ahead of time.

You are correct there Ariel, to get the good price you do have to add through Get Away Today, not at the gate. I have 4-day park hoppers, and it is $18 to add one more day for my family of 3. But if you show up at the gate, you pay the regular Disney price. So if you want to use your entry that night, call them in advance!

I keep hearing about Get Away Today's savings, but am I missing something? Every time I look, their prices are almost the same as buying directly from the DL website. Right now, they are $230 for an adult 4 day park hopper and the DL website is $234.

That sounds about right but when you multiply it by 7 (the number of tickets I bought from them), you've saved $28 - which isn't bad! They were also great when we had bought promo tickets from them last year and then my mom had a stroke less than a week before we left. They let me cancel my tickets and use their price towards our (non-promo, as our trip was postponed 5 months) tickets when we finally did take our trip.

Thanks for clearing that all up I'm not interested in adding a day, just wanted to pick them up that night so we are ready the next morning!
