Have you ever bought tickets from eBay? You can get some really good deals, but what exactly do you need to be mindful of?

Truth is, I would stay away from buying WDW tickets on eBay completely.

I agree.

If you are a high-risk person, maybe you can get a decent deal on ebay...but you do risk showing up at wdw and having them turn you away or send you back to the ticket window to buy new, full price tickets.

I'll settle for small deals from authorized resellers like mapleleaftickets or undercover tourist. I'm not a gambler...

You have no way of knowing if they're partially used, in which case you wouldn't be able to use them since there would already be a biometric scan associated with them.

The ones that popped up in my sidebar were specifically stated to be unused, seller had 100% reviews. We looked at it last time, but were nervous about trying it. But I was wondering if anyone had ever had any luck.

I sold some on ebay for a holiday I had to cancel once - I have 100% score and have been on there for years and years- I also told others that were biding only to buy if the person was willing to let the tickets be collected from their house as people are less likely to defraud you if you know where they live.

You'd have to go by their word that they're unused though and it could be that they have 100% reviews because they've never sold Disney tickets before or maybe there's some way to get rid of bad reviews. Also, I could see it happening once where someone bought tickets and their plans changed so that they couldn't use it and they needed the money (rather than hold on to it and save it for a future trip), but if they've done it more than once, I would really wonder why they have to keep canceling.

Anything more than a 10% discount is likely a scam.

Folks (use to) run up their rating by "selling" $0.02 "recipes" or other low value, instance delivery items. They'd get 200+ reviews with 100% positives in a short few days for less than $5, and then start scamming people.

You need to realize that tickets are not transferable once they have been used, so if someone used it already, and then you buy it, you are NOT going to be able to use it. YOu really have no way of knowing ahead of time if you are purchasing a valid ticket or not.

For me, any savings is not worth the risk.

Do you really want to sit around and worry about it for the next 17 months?

By the time you find out if they work it would likely be too late to file any sort of a dispute.

I never said I was going to do it. I'm merely asking if anyone ever has. Curiosity was piqued when they came up in my browser. We thought about it last time, decided not to. However, you can very easily find out if they're usable or not by a quick phone call to Disney, or plugging them into an MDE account, and have plenty of time to get your money back, if they weren't (*assuming you were buying them a few months in advance).

Sounds like you've thought it through. Why not just go for it then?

I've done it plenty of times and have saved hundreds on tickets. I know I'm a rarity... I've purchased stays at Disney resorts there too with great success. You look for 100% feedback, reason why they are selling, etc... There are a few stores selling tickets- you can tell them by the amount of tickets they sell and their feedback. I've purchased old 7 day hoppers and bridged them to become annual passes- saved about $150 per pass.

You can check if they are legit by sending a photocopy to disney and they will let you know. You can upload most now onto MDE and MDE will usually tell you too. I'm pretty sure tickets are covered under the paypal and ebay protection in case you were to get invalid tickets.

Like I said- I know I'm a bit of a loner on this- but I have saved thousands on trips to Disney with eBay... along with a ton of other things so I'm not going to stop anytime soon.
