We are planning a trip for next year, just before Christmas. Can I buy tickets this far in advance? Do I need tickets that say "no expiration" or does that just mean that multiple days don't have to be used consecutively? i.e. will a regular 5 day ticket from undercover tourist be good for December 2015 if we plan to use all 5 days in a row?

5. if we plan to use all 5 days in a row?

1. Sure.

2. Nope.

3. Non-expiring doesn't factor in until you actually start USING a ticket.
Then, any remaining unused "days" remain valid until finally used.

4. Yes. (If unused, it will remain valid and ready-for-use for years.)

5. You do NOT need to use all 5 days consecutively.
You just need to use all of the days within 14 days of first use.

Yes, you can buy your tickets online or in a Disney store now and wait to use them until December 2015. Do be careful not to buy a promotion ticket (like buy 3 days get 4th free) as those do often have an expiration date, but it will very clearly say that on the description.

The first day that you enter a park with your tickets they are "Activated". You then have 14 consecutive days in which to use them before they expire. So over the next 14 days you can use the tickets for any combination of the 5 days that you purchased.....so you can go 5 days in a row, skip every other day, or skip several days in between using them, doesn't matter how you do it, you have 14 days to use them up. On the 15th day, any that you don't use are forever lost.

The "no expiration" is if you want to use them past the 14 days. Since you'll be using the 5 days within the 14 days available, you don't need the no expiration (which is rather expensive). Usually people buy those when they want to go just a day or two at a time, because it's typically cheaper to buy a longer ticket with no expiration and use it for day trips every once in a while. Doesn't sound like what you're planning.

Disney world tickets do not expire until 14 days after first use so you can buy them now and not use them until next December and they will not expire between now and then.

the no expiration option is only needed if say you buy a 10 day ticket and only want to use 5 days and then 10 years from now want to go back and use the other 5 days.
