Hi guys,
I know some of you guys have been for 3 weeks and im wondering what tickets do you buy ???
I have looked at 3 week ultimate and a universal 2 park pass for 14 days but feel that we wont really get our moneys worth out of them if we buy like that !!
Do you reccomend MYW tickets for a 3 week stay instead ???
Any advice gratefully recieved

We always get the Magic Your Way tickets, hopper/non expiry kind as we find they work for us and usually last more than one holiday.
We don't visit theme parks every day, so find they last us a fair while, have had 10 day passes in the past, and currently have a 6 day one where we have used just the one day.

Universal we generally look for the best offers either direct from them or using Dreams Unlimited. Again we probably vist US/IOA about 3 times or so, hence we do not need 14 day tickets or anything like that.

All depends on how many days you are planning on going.

Thanks johnny,
Because we have 4 kids we dont do a prk everyday it would just be too much and we stay clear of parks all together at weekends far too crowded for my little man with asd even with a gac !!
So thats 6 days out of 21 gone in an instant hence why i think 21 day ultimate is probably a waste but also dont want to not buy enough if plans change as they are bound too with 4 kids and weather etc. :confused3

The other thing to think about might be if there is any chance at all of going back within 12 month of your trip? If there is, then you might find annual passes work for both Disney and Universal (perhaps the 'power pass' they sell).

Annual passes are probably a little more expensive than the UK-specific tickets or MYW, depending on the number of days you'll be spending at the parks, by for multiple trips they are usually the way forward.

You need to start with a list. Write down roughly how many days you think in each park. Then work out the best tickets for the amount of days.

As said AP's need to be looked at, especially if any chance of going back within the year or with SW & Busch within 2 years. I posted in another thread this evening a 2 year 2 park pass for SW & Busch works out at £35 per park per year, cheaper than a day ticket for each park.

Hi Louise

We are doing a 3 week trip in Jan, and we have purchased the following-

14 day Sea World, Aquatica and Busch Gardens, this was £64 for all 3 parks, from Attraction Tickets Direct. (this is a UK offer so you would have to get this before you go)

10 day fun and more Disney - with this you get 10 days entry to the parks and then 10 "fun days" which you can use at water parks or Disney Quest, these for approx £180 from Undercover Tourist (cheaper than buying an Ultimate Ticket)

when we get there we are going to buy Universal tickets from Costco (don't know if you have a membership) they are for Both Universal Parks and are about £55 and these are valid for 3 months.

Our plan is as follows (more or less!):

2 days at each of the Disney Parks, AK, MK, Epcot and DHS. We will only be wandering and won't be touring commando style! So pretty relaxed.

Running total of days used 8

2 days at Busch Gardens - we usually only do one but hope to stay over in Tampa

Running total of days used 10

2 Days at Sea World - to fit in the shows

Running Total of days used 12

1 full day at the Universal parks, and a couple of afternoons after a water park visit

Running total of days used 15

We will fit Aquatica and the Disney Water parks in weather permitting. There is also scope to go back to the parks if we want too to get souvineers etc or have one more ride on something.
We are planning on waiting until the 6th or 7th day into the holiday before activating the Disney tickets so that they will carry us through to when we go home.

Hope I didn't totally bore you with that - thought it might give you a good insight as to what you can do. :goodvibes

Hi Louise,

If you are going to be returning another year then the MYW tickets are worth considering.
We probably don't get full value from each of our days, mainly because we often do not return later in the day at a park having spent a few hours there in the morning, however the park hopper & non expiry option we find suits us fine.
They are not cheap but can choose from 3 days up to 10 days, so there is variation in there.

We haven't enjoyed Universal as much on the last couple of holidays - partly because of the crazy opening times of a few of the rides - but there are always offers on , 2 day ticket and you get another few days free etc etc, so I would definitely think carefully before buying these.

Having been Universal AP holders some years ago, I can see the sense in them also, it's just finding your way at a price you are happy with.

Hi,

Unless you buy the non-expiry option for the MYW tickets then they are only valid for 14 days from first use. The non-expiry option for 10 day MYW tickets raises the price from around $245 to $462, in which case you would probably be better going with the 21 day Ultimate!!

What you may want to consider is to buy the Universal 2 Park 14 day tickets and activate these on your first day, and leave your first Disney visit until your 7th day. This would give you the following park visit options:

Days 1-6: Universal
Days 7-14: Universal/Disney
Days 15-21: Disney

If you thought that you could manage 10 days Disney in the 2 weeks on it's own, Universal's website have a 2 Park 7 day ticket for $99 plus tax which you could activate for your first week only.

We looked at this one till we found the Costco one for $89.99 which is valid for 3 months so the OP can have access to Universal for the whole 21 days and still save $10 too!
