Tickets? Buy ahead of time or wait?

My last question for today, I promise

I have not bought our tickets yet. I was told by a friend that if you wait until you get there you can have your tickets put on your room key. This sounds like a good thing because then you only have to carry one card. Are there any drawbacks to this?

I can save a few dollars buying them now. I am afraid I will forget them, or lose them, or something.

If I buy them in advance, God forbid, what if something happens and we end up not going. Can we get a refund on unused tickets?

If you buy them in advance, do they mail them to you or do you pick them up at a will call somewhere once you get there?

The Disney Stores have 7 day hopper passes, and they have 7 day hoppers with the Water Parks & more, but they dont have both hopping and the water parks on one ticket. Can we buy either one at the Disney store and then add the other 'option' once we get to our resort? Is it better not to buy them at the Disney Store if they dont have the exact ticket we want. We definitely want the hopping priveleges and also want the Water Parks option, too.

thanks

I definitely recommend buying your tickets in advance, unless the savings you get aren't worth it to you.

If you want to buy, them in advance, I highly recommend Ticket Mania at:

www.ticketmania.com

Ticket Mania is an oficially licensed Disney ticket seller. They have been in business for a long time and are very reputable. We've used them twice now with no problems-- great service. The 7 day park hopper with Water Parks and more (expiring) is $289 from them for Adults 10+ and $251 for Children 3-9. This is a savings of $20-$24 per ticket over the price you'd pay on arrival.

If you have about 2-3 weeks before your trip, you can have them shipped for $6. If you're afraid that you might lose them or forget them, you can instead have them deliver your tickets to your hotel on the morning that you check in-- this costs $10. I've heard from many people who have done this with no problems.

I've also heard from numerous people that you can transfer tickets purchased elsewhere to your room key.

I also bought my tickest's ahead of time using Ticketmania after signing up with mousesavers.com to get even a little more savings. They came to my home by ups with a signature required and also had disney and orlando info in package. And both times had them added to my room key at resort at check-in.
