7 days ahead of check-in date if staying onsite. 3 days before 1st park visit if staying offsite.

We have a free dining package scheduled for June at POR. We are DVC and plan on upgrading to Sorcerers pass APs towards the end of the trip so we can go again next spring. I'm trying to figure out it I'm missing anything important about the upgrades with the timing of the trip. Couple of thoughts in my head about this as it we haven't done the APs since pre covid.

1 - We do want to make one include Photopass, will that timeline matter at all? I'm pretty sure in the past we could upgrade anytime and we still had access to all the photos for the last 30 days or so.

2 - I know we will miss out on AP discounts until we upgrade, but we have DVC to that is mostly a wash in my mind. Plus we have free dining booked so most meals are already paid for anyway.

3 - Once we upgrade, I know we will have to make park reservations.

So basically is there something I'm missing? Any reason to upgrade on day one vs the last day on the tickets?

Thank you!

Not sure if the Sorcerer's pass has any blackout days. Just make sure your trip on the package is not during a time if there are any blackout dates. If so, I don't believe you would be able to use the tickets to upgrade to an AP. If no blackout dates for the Sorcerer's pass, then no worries!

Going to Disney for family trip staying at wilderness lodge. I don’t know anything about annual passes. Just seen 35% off rooms for our dates for annual passes holders. We have 3 rooms booked right now. I read you can use annual pass discounts on 3 rooms. Would it be worth it to get annual passes discounts for one family trip. I added up the savings for 3 rooms and it’s more than the annual passes?🤷🏻‍♀️

It might, but you won’t know if there is AP availability for the discounts until you actually purchase an AP. Unless you have someone with an AP check your dates. There are also other room discounts out there, I believe it’s 30% for the general public. Might want to look into that, too. Maybe call Disney to see if any of the current room discounts could apply to your trip.

I looked at all discounts and the only one with our dates are for passholders. There was a link I clicked and showed are dates were available for our dates for park reservation not room .So yeah they may not be available for our room. I looked at historical discounts and there were some come out in June last year but was for less than the passholder discount. Our dates are in November 15-21 split stay 15-18 Pop and 18-21 Wilderness Lodge.

I have a question. On the 50% off kids tickets. If I buy 5 days of the kids ticket and we end up not going can I just save them till we do go for next time.

Yes, fully-unused tickets retain value as a credit towards new. You’ll need to pay any extra for your new dates and don’t expect a refund if the new dates cost less.

I just made a one-night reservation to begin my trip a day earlier. So, instead of arriving on May 15, we are arriving on May 14. If one of my party has tickets that need reservations, do they need a reservation for that new day to be eligible to start making Lightning Lane 7 days out?

Edt: I got the answer. I figured that everyone needed to have valid tickets starting the 14th.

If they will be going to a park that day and their ticket requires reservations, yes they need a theme park reservation for that new earlier date. If they won't be going to a theme park that day, they may still book LL 7 days in advance of the earlier check-in date. Theme park reservations are required for any date they plan to enter a park.

Thanks @lanejudy

Interestingly, I had no issue changing my 10-day ticket to start on May 14, but I did have a problem changing my husband's 9-day ticket. I had to call, and the CM said it would cost $14 more to change the date on my husband's ticket. There was no change in cost when I changed my dates, so I asked her why that would be. Since I thought she was incorrect, I decided to call ticketing. The CM from ticketing changed my husband's ticket and confirmed that the price remained the same.

Tickets are priced by date. I guess it's possible a 9-day ticket might cover different dates than a 10-day and thus be a different price when adjusting the start date.

That can be true, but my husband's 9-day ticket covered the same days as my 10-day ticket. And, as I found out from the ticketing CM, the price did not change.

I don't know what the first CM was looking at. Actually it looks like both went down ~$2 ($1.82 for the 10-day and $1.91 for the 9-day). But they won't refund for a lower-priced ticket.

If I want a 6-day ticket and two 2-day tickets, what is my best option?

For example, I check into POR on a Sunday alone. On Monday & Tuesday, my niece joins me at the hotel & parks. On Wednesday & Thursday, my nephew joins me at the hotel & parks. On Friday & Saturday, I am alone at the hotel & parks.

Do I piecemeal it all together buying ala carte? Or do I get a package for all 3 of us with 2 day tickets & then upgrade my tickets after I'm there?
