Tickets advice please, don't be shocked..

Five in party, including my 3 boys, 13, 8 and my youngest will turn 7 while we are there (any birthday ideas?)

The two oldest oldest hate queuing for rides and would rather be in waterparks. Sea world was mainly for my eldest but have to admit I would love to go!!

As you can see from my sig pics we have 2 boys on our last trip they were 16 & 14 and on our next trip they will be 18 & 16. I guess as they've been brought up on Disney they think nothing of spending 10 days just in WDW and not going anywhere else and they get just as excited as I do about going back. We have been to both Seaworld and Universal but whenever we book to go back to Florida they never seem to ask to go back there, in fact the only thing they do insist on is a day at one of the waterparks.

The great thing about waiting in a queue at WDW is that they theme the queuing areas so brilliantly they the time you are waiting goes by quickly and in fact there is much themeing you can only see when you are in queue.

If the birthday boy likes dinosaurs a birthday meal at T rex would be fun at downtown disney.

Like the rainforest cafe but dinosaurs.

You can wait for a seat or ring or email them to make a booking.

At Disney you don't have to buy fastpass tickets you just use your entrance tickets at the fastpass points at the specific ride and get the fastpass ticket which gives you a return time to get on the ride.

I've read through the thread and I'll try to answer as many of your questions as possible, but I see you've already got some great answers already!

There is no way to significantly reduce costs when it comes to tickets. You can get them slightly cheaper in some places but in all honesty, if you want to do all of the parks, it won't be cheap!

I agree with the suggestions above, the best thing to do is to stick to either Disney or "Others". It really is too much to try to cram in everything in one trip. It's not just a financial issue, it's EXHAUSTING to do it all in 2 weeks.

Disney is certainly not for "little ones" so I'd suggest you direct your older son to the links above or have him do a little research for himself about what is at WDW. I honestly believe that there is more than enough for everyone at WDW, no matter how old or young they are.

My suggestion would be to come to a compromise, but if that isn't possible, pull out the "I'm the parent and unless you're paying for it, this is what we're doing" card

if you are restricted to visiting only some parks then I would buy the Ultimate 14 day Disney pass, my boys are 15 & 17 and although we have been many times to Florida there is still enough to keep them busy at Disney. The water parks are fab and I'm sure you will have to drag them out of Disney Quest-we certainly do! If its only your eldest son who wants to go to Universal would it be feasible for one adult to take him there for a day and the rest have a Disney day? (that would cut down the cost considerably)

So to clarify (please don't roll your eyes) The water parks that are part of the Disney tickets are not actually in Disney, you have to go out of the park and drive to another park? As with Epcot, magic kingdom etc..

Would you get the 14 day ultimate or 7 day premier?

As we will probably never be able to afford to go again are we not missing out not seeing universal or seaworld?

Disney is around 47 square miles! Eah park is a travel between them. Its a huge place

Disney World is a 47 square mile complex. Inside it are the 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, 22 hotels, a camp ground, 4 mini golf courses, 4 proper 18 hole golf courses and the shopping and entertainment area called Downtown Disney. So yes the water parks are in Disney. The 7 day and 14 day tickets are currently the same price in the WDW website so there is absolutely no point buying the 7 day. You can ONLY buy it in the UK though so don't wait until you arrive to do it. Go to www. disney. go.com

Nobody on here minds answering questions.
Disney World is massive which is why there is free transport to take you from one park to another. You can go by boat bus or monorail! All the theme parks and water parks are in Disney.

I would get the 14 day Ultimates and leave Seaworld and Universal for a return trip. Where are you staying?

To give you some perspective. Most places have to be reached by car or internal transport system In Disney World it is so big. Disney World is the name for everything I listed in my previous post.

Guests as the Epcot area hotels can walk to Epcot and DHS.

Guests at the Contemporary hotel can walk to the Magic Kingdom.

Guests at Saratoga Springs can walk to Downtown Disney.

It is possible to walk between Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge.

I think that's pretty much it for walking at Disney World.
