Tickets - adding days

I am purchasing 2 day tickets as part of my package and want to know if I can add additional days for the incremental charge once I'm there. For example, paying for the difference between a 2 day and 3 day ticket instead of a 2 day ticket and then an additional 1 day ticket.

I've done this in the past, but the CM I just spoke to told me I would have to buy an additional 1 day ticket once we use the other one. In the past, I had 14 days to add additional days or change them to non-expiring tickets.

Where do they get this stuff??? You can add additional days for the difference between what you have and what you're upgrading to as long as you do it BEFORE you use up the last day on the ticket. In your case, you must add the extra days before you leave the parks on your second day of use.

Maybe cm's should check here before giving out information!!!

If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in this Forum, especially Post #6, #18, & #22, you can get a lot more information. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature. The ticket sticky is your friend!

Thanks for the info - I didn't think the CM had the right info.

I will also be adding 2 days to DD and my tickets, and hoppers to all our tickets after we use them first, and I have reread Chesire's sticky, but just wanted to check about paying w/cash or equivalant - does that include my Disney Visa Rewards? I can use a Disney GC if not, just want to be prepared!

The CM may have confused the issue with "day after" tickets with upgrading. At least, that's my guess.

"Day After" ticket rule (heavily paraphrased):
If you have a ticket you want to upgrade AND it's not on a KTTW card, you have to upgrade it before your last entitlement is used up (so, on a 2 day base ticket, by the end of the 2nd day). Otherwise (if the entitlements aren't used or it's on a KTTW card), you should have up to 14 days to upgrade.
