Ticketing Strategy

Sorry for all the questions, I tried to number to help out

Going last minute in a couple of weeks. Using free passes from my SIL's work for all of us but one. We have the option to use her 30% off discount to buy the extra ticket not included with her free passes. If some of us are planning on returning in September this year, and we were already planning on buying Annual Passes for that trip, should I (1) upgrade that extra ticket for this trip to Annual Pass while we are there? (2)Forgo the 30% off ticket all together and just buy the AP now? (3) Or just use the 30% off ticket and buy an AP when we come back in September. We are not staying on property this trip, nor will probably utilize any discounts we might get from the AP (staying on property in Sept).

(4) If we upgraded to a AP after entering the park, would the AP become active then or the next time we came to the park? Was hoping to have AP access from Sept 2018 to Sept 2019 if possible so we could come back to Universal next summer or early Sept if possible (if not, it's only one AP out of 4 we'd have to renew if we even needed to), but we won't have discounted tickets in September so this might be only time we could get a "discount" on upgrading to AP.

(5) And I'm assuming we can't upgrade to AP with the free passes she got from work correct?

Comp tickets are not upgradable.

Aps are active from the first day you use the ticket you upgrade. So if you use the ticket on Tuesday and upgrade on Thursday, the APs are good from the Tuesday.

You really need to just write down all the costs and see which is cheaper.
