Ticketing Question

We rented points to stay at DVC. We then bought Disney Gift Cards to purchase our park tickets. When we called on Saturday the lady my husband talked to didn't know how to sell us the tickets since we have room only through DVC. She told us we had to call DVC member services. I know that we are not supposed to do that.

My questions are this:
1. Should we just call ticket services and tell them what we want to buy?

2. Do they then link the tickets to our My Disney Experience or do we?

3. Are they electronic tickets or will they be mailed to us?

4. Once the tickets are linked to our MDE, they will also be linked to our rooms, correct?

Although this will be our 10th trip, we have only bought packages through Disney before and we are still trying to learn how to do this.

Thanks for any help

Yes, you should just call the general ticketing services, don't talk to them about the room or they will transfer you to DVC. Also DVC will only let you use 2 GC per transaction!

2. Do they then link the tickets to our My Disney Experience or do we?
You should get a confirmation number that you can link to your MDE. They may be able to do it for you.

3. Are they electronic tickets or will they be mailed to us?
If you want actual tickets mailed to you, you'll need to pay extra. The electronic ticket is a will call.
4. Once the tickets are linked to our MDE, they will also be linked to our rooms, correct?
Theoretically they should be linked to your MDE and your magic band! Good luck.

So if we can link them to our MDE and Magic Bands we don't need to do anything else? We wouldn't need to go to Guest Services when we arrive?

Yes, that is the idea. We haven't been since Thanksgiving, so I don't know if they've worked out all the bugs for MB. You shouldn't have problems making reservations and FP+ after linking the tickets. But whether or not your MB works 100% is a different story :) You should still pick up your tickets, just in case.

Another option is getting actual tickets from a site like Undercover tourist. They mail you actual tickets and are a couple dollars cheaper than buying through Disney. But you wouldn't be able to use Disney GC.

Thank you. We bought the Disney Gift Cards. It will take 36 of them to purchase our tickets. If we have a problem with using them to buy the tickets we will use those for our meals while there. We considered purchasing the tickets through AAA.

We bought the GC at Target and saved about $180. At AAA it would be a savings of about $100. Either way it's a WIN-WIN!!

By the way: if we need to go to "will call" to get the tickets, is it at a park guest services or would we be able to get those at the resort check in?
