Ticket upgrading question

Santa is bringing the kids Disney tickets for Christmas. However, he is bringing Florida Resident 3-day passes. I heard these can be upgraded (say, in January or February for example) to Florida resident season passes. My question is, can we use one or two of the 3 days and still get full credit toward the upgrade or do they have to be completely un-used tickets?

You will get full credit for the upgrade. However, the expiration date will be one year from date of first use of the original pass and not from date of conversion.

This is correct, and I might add, they do not pro-rate the amount either.

They don't prorate the amount because they give you full purchase price credit when you do the transaction.

Prorate by definition would mean they only gave you partial credit covering a specified time frame. The 3 day Play pass allows FL residents up to 6 months from first use to upgrade the ticket vs the regular 14 day upgrade window that regular MYW tickets have. But just as with an upgrade of a regular MYW ticket to an AP/PAP/SP, the expiration date is backdated to the first use of the ticket. But in all cases, you received the FULL VALUE of the ticket as a credit towards the upgraded year-long pass. So there is no prorating required.
