Ticket upgrade ??

My friend and I are going for 4 nights over Labor Day weekend. This trip was only planned when we heard of the free dining plan! It will be my 15th trip, 11th in the last 5 years! It will only be her 2nd time, and the 1st was about 25 years ago!

Anyway, right now our package is booked with the 3 day MYW hoppers. Now that we have our airfare booked and are not leaving to come home until evening, we want to upgrade those to 4 day MYW hoppers.

My questions are these:
Since I plan on going in October, '06, should I upgrade my ticket to the 10 day non-expiring hopper when I get down there in 6 weeks? We have to have the same ticket when booking the package, right? But, once there, I can upgrade mine without her having to, is that right?

Or would it be cheaper to just go ahead and upgrade both our tickets to the 4 day like we plan, and then I just buy a ticket for my next year's trip on Mousesavers?

Or should we downgrade our tickets with the package (is this even possible if everything is already paid for?) to just 1 day hoppers, and buy the other 3 days we need now from Mousesavers? Well, in that case, she'd probably buy a 3 day, and I'd buy a 10 day non-expiry.

Did I confuse you yet? I confused me!

As for downgrading your tix after a pkg has been paid for, please consider that if you're within 45 days of your arrival, you will be billed $50 for a change fee. Just thought I'd mention it.

Thanks, I kind of thought that might be the case. We are only 40 days out. I've never booked a package before, so wasn't sure about the rules. Are we allowed to upgrade to a 4 day on the package, or will this also be considered a change that would cost $50? If so, I guess we'll just wait and upgrade down there. Then she could go up to the 4 day, and I could go to the 10 day, right?
