Ticket upgrade?

I have PHP tix with 5 of 7 days left. Luckily, I am planning many trips to WDW over the next year and would like to get AP's. Don't really have enough cash right now to buy 4 AP's; would like to "upgrade." I have called WDW and asked but the CM's I get just tell me I have to do this at one of the main gates. I knew this already! I want to know what the price difference will be so I can budget for the tickets. Does anyone have a clue? I have posted here before but forgot to ask one important question: Can I call someone at one of the main gate ticket counters? Do these even have a phone number? I am trying to figure out what my old tickets are worth (if anything) toward the price of an AP. Thanks!

Unless I'm completely wrong, they should be worth exactly 5/7 (five-sevenths) of what you originally paid for them. They pro-rate the amount based upon the number of unused park days (no allotment for PLUS options) left on the pass.

So if I have it right, we should take the kids to Typhoon Lagoon for a few hours on day one, as those pluses will just "be gone?" Is about $45 a day right for a 7-day?

Thanks.

Hoping somebody might have an answer to my question. I have two (2) 4 day child park hopper passes. They have never been used. I was thinking I might want to get an AP for my DD, but she is no longer a child (she is 11). Would I get what I paid for them towards an AP because they have never been used? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Colleen:

Your pass will be credited based on what you actually paid for it. If you bought it from a wholesaler (Paramount, TicketMania, etc) the amount will be based on what you paid them, not what Disney sells the same ticket for.

As an example, say you paid $300 for the ticket originally. Your price per day would be $42.85. So with 5 day remaining unused, your credit towards an AP would be 5x$42.85 or $214.25. Remember that your actual credit will be different because it is based on what you actually paid for it.

And yes, you will lose all unused plus options when you upgrade it to an AP.

2disneyagain:

Since they are unused, you will be able to get the entire amount you paid for them as a credit towards an adult AP. But...you will only be able to apply one of the tickets towards it. Disney limits you to applying only one old ticket per new ticket bought.
