My Dad is taking 11 of us to disney at the end of July. We have a room/ticket/dining package paid for. Is it possible for me and DH to upgrade our tickets to AP's and use them at the beginning of July? I called and was told I'd have to call the Annual pass line on Monday. I figure someone can tell me yes or no before then. TIA!

I would say no. You can get your package tickets up to 3 days early but you are talking more than that.

The package tickets have to be MYW tickets, from 1-day tickets to max 10-day tickets. Minimum ticket per person in a room is either 1-day ticket (paid dining) or 2-day ticket (free dining). AP isn't an option for purchase directly with a package. Once you arrive and check-in, you could upgrade package tickets to AP. Also, as PP wrote, you could pick up package tickets at Park Guest Relations up to 3 days prior to start of package, but not as far in advance as you are asking.

You could do it the other way around, buy AP for this trip. Get a refund for the tickets later. Previous poster is wrong, you can add dining to AP and even have partial tickets partial AP in a single room, you just have to call. We did that last year.

AP isn't an option for purchase directly with a MYW package. Sorry I wasn't clear.

OP says Dad is taking them, package paid for. Does that mean Dad paid for room, dining, tickets? If so, the idea to purchase AP for early July trip and use it for late July trip means Dad would have to cancel late July booking, get refund, give child $$ towards the APs and a new late July booking. Late July trip would have to be re-booked/paid for in child's (or spouse's) name (AP holders). There are AP discounts at their travel time, and dining can be added. But AP room availability at chosen resort is unknown.

Thanks all. Yes the trip has been paid for. Sounds like too much trouble to cancel and rebook. I'm not giving up those FP for A&E! We will just have to do a couples only trip after the big trip in July. I can upgrade those tickets during that trip though right? Thanks everyone!

Yes. Use the original tickets to enter one of the 4 theme parks first. This bridges your ticket value to current gate price (in case they were booked before a ticket price increase). Then go to Guest Relations at any Theme Park (outside and inside each front gate) or DTD to do your AP upgrade. No matter which day you upgrade to AP, the AP start date will be the first day you used your original tickets (because you get $ credit for the entire ticket). Google Disney World AP for list of benefits and discounts. And consider purchasing the Tables in Wonderland card with your AP. It's more savings than having the Dining Plan, plus you get 20% off alcoholic drinks.
