Going unexpectedly to WDW for NYE weekend. Is it possible to purchase a 1 or 2 day peak park ticket and prior to leaving the park upgrade to a DVC gold annual pass?

Just remember to upgrade before you leave the park on the last day of the ticket. Your AP will start on the date you first used the original pass, plus 13 months if you buy before Jan 3rd 2017. Look for a ticket broker with the best price break. A 7 day might be your best deal, and they will give to gate prices towards the APs. Just be sure you will upgrade before buy a multiday pass as they will expire 14 days after first use.

We just did this Sat. Upgraded the DVC 25 anniversary tickets and two 5 day park hopper tickets to silver and one gold. There are no 2 day tickets for routine purchase. Conventions may still offer a 2 day ticket and I think the Military does though it's only a couple of $ cheaper. What you might want to consider is you could buy a long ticket and upgrade it, like a 5 day ticket. If you have access to tickets at work, that 5 day PH ticket may be your cheapest long term ticket to upgrade.

Thank you for the info... Can you explain your last sentence as I want to make sure that I understand?

I was going to suggest a similar thing. Look at one of the ticket brokers such as Undercover tourist and purchase a park ticket that gives you the greatest discount vs gate price. That may be a 5 or 6 day ticket or even greater. They do an e-ticket that you can link to your MDE account. When you go to upgrade to the AP you should be given credit for the full gate price of the ticket even though you paid less than that. We've done this often.

It was a reminder to make sure you will be upgrading, as a multiday ticket will expire 14 days after the first use. Did want you to buy a $350+ ticket, and then change your mind and not upgrade to an AP, as the unused days would expire ion 2 weeks. Not like the old days when a pass was good forever.

I'm about to buy a 14 days ticket for the price of approx 371$. What gate price would be used if I upgraded to an AP?

Disney doesn't sell 14 day tickets, I believe they are special European tickets. The Disney WEB site lists a a 10 day at $400 + tax.

Yes this is a European ticket, sold by Disney in Europe. Just curious what price they use if I upgrade to an AP.

When you buy a ticket from Disney, you can upgrade it but you'll only receive credit for the price you paid

We bought the 4 day FL resident ticket in Oct. that doesn't expire for 6 months. We still have 1 day left on it. Is it possible to update that to a gold annual pass?

I don't know about this ticket, but I just paid $57 apiece to upgrade a 10 day park hopper and more to a gold pass. It was a discounted ticket and they gave me full gate value. Also, if anyone is upgrading today or tomorrow I just waited in a 2 HOUR line at Disney springs to do it!!!!

I don't know for sure, but I suggest you call Disney Ticketing at 407-566-4985. Select Option 5. They may be able to do it over the phone.

Worst case, you could buy a Gold AP. When you go to the park, use the last day of your old pass first. Then on the next park day, activate your Gold AP.

I also don't know about that ticket but usually any ticket must be upgraded within the 14 days of it's first use, even if it doesn't expire in that time. At least that was always my understanding with the non-expiring tickets which is what leads me to think it would be the same with the FL resident ticket.

wouldn't it be nice if they offered DVC members even anthing remotely similar to the new 3-4 day florida residents ticket!
